Dwarves

The Origin of dwarves stems with a group of ancients that hid away in the deep crevaces of earth. Over time they became adapted to cramped spaces and toughness of skin. It was once they re-emerged that they became known as Dwarves, for their shortened stature. While many remained in the underground realms, some cultures of dwarves ventured off into the world in search of new lands. While retaining their short stature over time, these groups became known as the halflings and gnomes, each having lost an element of their durability in favor of another trait.

Dwarven benefits include an increase in endurance, for their adaptation to cramped spaces and survivability during cave-ins. Halflings and Gnomes are different, in that Gnomes have developed an attunement with nature, granting them great magical skills. Halflings have embraced their nature as small creatures, thus granting them greater agility because they are difficult to catch and keep hold of.

Dark Dwarves
Dark Dwarf Name Database

Dark Dwarves are the demonized dwarven race that lives among the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim, which sometimes confuses schollars as to which the true "Svartalfs" are. These short men often are ill-tempered, and unlike many dwarves, they have embraced the nature of piercing weapons, such as rondels and spears. While irritable, these dwarves are surprisingly amazing sailors. This is mainly because they navigate in the near pitch black underworld of the subterrainean rivers of Necros, with little more than canoes and kayaks.
* Commonly pale skinned and black of hair.
* Often wear black cloth, and bone armor. Bone is much lighter than metal if the need to swim comes up.
* Native to subterrainean Necros of Northwestern Centra.
- Increased strength from voluntary demonization.
- Incredible skills of navigation.
- Increased performance on a sailing vessel.

Desert Dwarves
Desert Dwarf Name Database

Desert dwarves are a reclusive underground society in the deserts of Centra. While typically they horde the salt mines of the sand and remain hidden underground, they are surprisingly dark of skintone. There is little to attribute to this other than the notion that desert dwarves recently lived above ground for a brief time in their civilization. With the rise of the Chaos Legion, many Desert Dwarf colonies have sought refuge underground where the dwarven stature is at most use.
* Commonly dark skinned and black of hair.
* Often adorn heavier armors, with wool cloaks to somewhat evade the hot weather effects.
* Native to subterrainean environments in the desert regions of Centra.
- Increased resistance to the effects of hot weather.
- Increased resistance to solid earth damage.
- Experts at hiding.

Dvergar
Dvergar Dwarf Name Database

A northern dwelling culture of dwarves, that supplies the Fellrise nation with surprisingly inventive structures and battle solutions. Much of the designs of Midgard are constructed by the Dvergar forge within Nidavellir, giving them a near unbreakable alliance with one of the most powerful human empires in the world. Their stronghold at Nidavellir is among the most well defended regions in the world, thus granting them some sense of security on the home front. Those who wish the most inventive design to be constructed often turn to the Dvergar smiths for the best quality of construction.
* Commonly light skinned and white or red/orange of hair.
* Don mythril armors, and the only race known to have such a steady supply of such rare material.
* Native to Ashfall Mountain Range of Adon.
- Increased resistance to the effects of cold weather.
- Increased knowledge of foreign technologies.
- Default Mythril armament

Germanic Dwarves
Germanic Dwarf Name Database

In the mountain ranges of Centra, only one true dwarven culture exists that presents a challenge even for the mighty Chaos Legion. These hearty dwarves are among the most battle ready, and have time tested defenses that even armies numbering in the thousands could not overcome. Germanic Dwarves mainly become great warriors, with an affinity towards axes in combat along with several mountain defenses.
* Commonly tan skinned and black of hair.
* Often wear metal armors, typically Iron.
* Native to the Arat Mountain Ranges.
- Increased resistance to solid earth damage.
- Increased ability with attacking because of their battle training.
- Increased stamina because of their battle training.

Gnomes
Gnome Dwarf Name Database

Gnomes are the dwarves that were once native to Lith, however with the ascension of the "stilted demon" they were driven from their homeland, despite their magical efforts and brave warriors. They sailed across the massive ocean to their origin, the ashfall mountains with their Dvergar bretheren. The Gnomes have since lived among their allies and have melded culturally with them. The Gnomes have since enhanced their practice of magic, thus becoming more adept with their spellcasting.
* Commonly tan skinned and bright red of hair.
* Often wear wool cloth to shield from hot weather, but also don leather and brigandine armors made from composites with Iron.
* Native to the island, Lith, but were driven away to the Ashfall Mountain Range of Adon.

Halflings
Halfling Dwarf Name Database

Halflings are dwarves that stemmed from the branch of origin into the plains of the Great Adon Grasslands. Most halflings still live in underground burrows, as per nature of the dwarven kind. Called half-ling because their size is generally half the average height of most homonid races, even shorter than other dwarven relatives. The halflings are generally timid and untrustworthy people which only intensifies with age. They live peacefully and dare not disturb the lands surrounding them. Halfling warriors are rather small, which makes them quite difficult to spot in the underbrush and tall grasses. With studies of winds in their midst, some halflings have even gained powers that border on magical. These warriors tend to sneak up on their enemies and drag them below the grass with their twin daggers then finish off the intruders before they can do any harm. While generally peaceful, Halflings can certainly be vicious little people when the need arises.
* Commonly light skinned and brunette.
* Often serve as burgulars of thieves for other cultures of dwarves.
* Native to central Adon.
- Easily escape traps and other ensnarements.
- Increased resistance to wind damage.
- Stealthy by nature, thus making them more adept at sneaking past enemies.
