Behavior

Water Element Magic (Defensive use spells only last Magic Level * turns)
"Fluent in the skills of Water, Marid are the most powerful Djinn to harness such a rare element in the deep deserts. Their abodes are often marked by a grand oasis."
-Ice: (uses 1 Faith) Summons the defensive power of Water. Crystallizing Ice sheets defend the caster against up to Magic Level * damage. Arrow ammo and Thrown weapons do 50% less damage. Ice can be used offensively for * damage, unless used on Lithic Monsters or Fiery creatures then it will be * + ½ damage.
-Water: (uses 1 Faith) Summons the offensive power of Water. Rushing torrents and pouring rains inundate enemies as they will take up to Magic Level * damage, although swimming creatures and Automotons can take * + ½ damage. Water can be used defensively, but will only protect against ¼ * damage, but Fire based attacks will do only 50% damage per strike.
-Steam: (uses 1 Faith) Summons the scalding clouds for an aura of protection that fogs enemy vision, reducing their accuracy by Magic Level * as well as injuring foes by 1 for every turn inside the steam cloud.

Whirlsand
(Uses 3 Stamina) Allows the monster to draw all targets one range closer to it, if at short range the character is "drowning". If "drowning", a character will take 1 damage to health every turn until freed when monster is killed, if not freed in time then character is dead.



Drops
When killed the monster will drop...
- Treasure: Around Threat Level x150cr. amount of gold armor cost.
- Blue Crystalline Shard (x Threat Level Amount): Allows potion makers, chemists, or alchemists to make any Water-related Potions.

* Wish granting: Defeated Marid will cast ½ Threat Level Amount of wishes if captured by a Talisman.



Description

Marid are the highest class of Djinns, and so they adorn themselves with jewels and other treasures, most often the gems that are colored of blue or green. Their bodies look like bubbling blue masses adorned with the riches collected from foolish princes and warriors who thought their power could harness these ultimate Djinn. To the inexperienced, Marid may appear like a ghost or other apparition, since their bodies are slightly translucent. Since they are Djinns, Marid can be captured by talismans or other artifacts if their magic power is outmatched by a powerful mage.
