Poem's Title: "Regulation"
Poem:
There's a common rule of measure
For the righteous and obscene
And it regulates the sound and
Kills the ones caught in between
There's a final say in tandem
And a verdict that's at rest
Standing strong with your vindictions
Can put you to the test

But if you have the strength
And if you have the will
Then you'll stand for any length
And they can see you standing still

Raise up, fists of the strong
Clenching, white-knuckle
We've been regulated too long
Raise up, voice of the nation
Fight the beaten path
I'll try the one less taken
Wake up and shout,
"We don't need your regulation!"

Poem's Title: "Mirror's Eyes"
Poem:
In the light of morning
I reflect upon my dreams
entire lifetimes pass before me
I wonder what it means

In the mirror that is reason
magic I find lacking
so, if reason is a hollow thing
I'll up and send it packing

I'll ask my questions of the stars
hear their answers in my heart
perhaps in time some of their light
will rub off, in some part...

In the light of evening
the sunset colors blend
soon, the stars come out to play
I await the dreams they send

I have walked on the beaches
of their worlds
and flown through other skies
met other dreamers, like myself
who seek to see
what's beyond the mirror's eyes...

Poem's Title: "The Path of Time"
Poem:
The storm rages against the cliffs of time,
The oceans waves hurling themselves against the mighty bluffs,
Slowly eroding them to a razor thin line,
Slicked by the blood and tears of those that must walk this tortured route,

All of us who have felt times awful wrath,
Felt it sever those ties we hold dear,
Watched it erase those we so love from our path,
Taking those choices from our grasp,

To make us wonder what if,
Been subjected to that icy cold aftermath,
The pain and suffering brought on by times frozen blade,
Wondering if you have the strength to last,
To continue to walk times cruel cruel path,

You look back at all you have done,
You see it all through times veil,
You see all of your mistakes....every single one,
You feel the pain of times inexorable path,

You look before you at what is yet to come,
You can not see the path laid before you,
Nor how long that path shall run,
You simply walk on and hope for the best,
And hope you will have a little fun,
For this is life for as long as you walk times path.

Poem's Title: Firelight
Poem:

Flickers of light and understanding
Silence burns hot in your eyes
When the words cease
Chat back and forth is playful
Like everchanging smoke in wind
Pouring over one subject
Just to brush past another
The offered opinions drifting away
Into the still darkness
A spark of interest
Another confidence bestowed
Fan the flames of camaraderie
Combustible and warm
A new thought is thrown on
A new weight to ponder and digest
Our minds lick around it
Deciding whether or not to take hold
It's a hot one, this
Dry and tender and ready
Words race up and down it
End to end
Devouring the new morsel
Just to watch it waft up
And away again
The brilliance of our fire
A harmony creates
Draws us and others in
And feeds on energy
Providing light around us
We bask in that dear warmth
But our circle isn't wide
The light is limited
As we come ever closer
Know intensity of night
Once the dawn starts breaking
The circle begins to widen
Our confidence is broken
Our bond is quickly loosened
Those thoughts that we had bandied
Are washed away like soot
The embers growing cold now
But come the evening dusk
We'll gather once again
And build up from those ashes
A roaring fire once more

Poem's Title: Wolf
Poem:

Do you know why
The wolf howls at the moon?
Whose rasping growl
Clots throats unyoked by tune.
It's sneering gaze
Endears a fearful mind,
Lives merciless
And hunts and kills in kind.

Yet somewhere there
You stop - and stand just so,
And from your throat
A soothing noble flow.
Did He decree,
In His enchanted sky,
To sing all thee
Your chantings to His eye?

No no. It's not
Some holy law in place
No no. It's not.
Not that which quells the chase
No no. Its not
Compulsion but the grace.
