Appearance: A busty brunette, standing at a height of 5'5" naturally, without the 3-inch heels which typically grace her feet, within city limits. Her hair is typically piled on top of her head, rarely ever seen down, and her eyes are a soft turquoise, a color that always confused her mother but never phased her father. Her attire typically consists of a bunched skirt, stockings beneath, knee high boots, a utility belt, a corset and a white blouse with a tie (the colors tend to vary). She limits the amount of lace seen on her person, but is never shy with the gadgets.

Profession: Librarian and Inventor

History: Florence was born to a beggar woman on the streets of New York and her mother only kept her breathing for the extra money that a starving child could attract. Little over a week after her unfortunate birth, the beggar woman was approached by an Englishman with an attractive offer. When the beggar woman and the Englishman parted ways, the woman disappeared with a large sum of money, and the Englishman walked away cradling baby Florence, then unnamed. Later, when Florence would stumble upon this information among the extensive personal journals of her adoptive father, she would also learn that she was 'procured' (as Dr. Carvosso so delicately wrote) in order to replace his newborn child which had died shortly after birth, of unknown causes. Rather than break the news to his wife, who had been bed ridden with a raging fever for more than a week after the birth, he had gone searching for a solution in the streets and stumbled upon the beggar woman and her bundle. Shortly after her adoption, the Carvosso's returned to London, only returning to New York on rare occasions. A good portion of her life was spent in London and the surrounding countryside. Summers were spent traveling to different parts of the world where she practiced the different languages she'd been taught since she was five, which included Russian, French, and Hungarian. Florence was enrolled in the top schools and excelled in all subjects, except for cooking, which she only passed by blackmailing the professor. It was shortly after she discovered the journals of her father that she began keeping her own at the age of 13, which included designs, musings and truths. By the age of 18, Florence began traveling the world with friends, as well as solo, exploring the nooks and crannies of the world that her parents had up until then shielded her from. During this time she also compiled information from her journeys, from observations of the people and places to the local inventions. By the age of 20, Florence had completed studies at a University and was shortly after offered a position in the University library, which she accepted. Ever since she began work at the University she had been compiling information in order to make a proposal to the board to grant her the funds and other necessities to make an expedition to Africa. She also spent time refining a workshop she had began at the age of 15, a workshop that her parents thought little more than a room filled with decorative toys, but was infact filled with creations she had been fine tuning in her journals for years. Finally, at the age of 25, under the pretense of studying languages native to Africa as well as collecting stories and history from all over the continent, Florence was able to get the funding from the University that she works at to send her to Africa so she could hunt for the Golden Bath of Nyame.

Personality: Florence is hardheaded, backstabbing and can be extraordinarily cold in the face of serious matters. When excited, she seems slightly crazed and bubbly and will smile for anyone if it gets her what she wants. She has no qualms about being honest and has been in several unladylike fist fights over being too honest. Florence also reserves her trust for very few people, mostly because she typically doesn't like many that she meets.
