Agatha H. and the Airship City review

Phil and Kaja Foglio have turned the first part of the perennial Hugo-nominated webcomic Girl Genius into a novel. The first three volumes of the webcomic get the prose treatment in Agatha H. and the Airship City.

I'll pass on explaining the plot, and just let you go read http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/ instead.

The book almost exactly like the comic. It's as if someone transcribed the dialogue and added descriptions of what was going on in the comic panels. That's an oversimplification, of course. The writing is solid, but not particularly noteworthy. There's very little in the novel that is not in the comic. If you expected further character development or a bit more delving into the setting, you won't find much (if any). Still, it's a quick and fun read.
