THE NOBLE HOUSE OF FRIAL
They are better than stars or water,
Better than voices of winds that sing,
Better than any man's fair daughter,
Your green glass beads on a silver ring.
- Harold Monro, "Overheard on a Saltmarsh"
Matriarch: Amthoril
Speciality: Jewlery & Gems
Heir: Aaillah
Main Residence: The Palace of
Vornkral
When it comes to skilled craftsmen, none can compare to the experts of Frial, neither in quality nor beauty. Goldsmiths are traditionally regarded as the most prestigious of royalty, and they pride themselves in being the masters of gems and precious metals. They have inspired mortal legends of fey who can make flowers look like gold coins until dawn, or who know where pots of gold are buried. They dominate the gem-mining community, and always work to get a monopoly.
It is widely known that some of the most prized treasures of the realms are made by craftsmen of Frial and Aoor working in concert, but because of the traditional intense rivalry between the houses this happens less than once in six hundred years. This dislike has seldom escalated into a feud, but professional disagreements more often than not make them politcal opponents.
A little explanation for the family tree below. It goes from the bottom and upwards. Two names joined by a line which leads to new names means that the two are parents of the names above.
The names with a black dot in front of them are the ones which actually belong to this house. The rest of them are merely related. The "m" in a circle mean that they were married, while a "+" signifies girl/boyfriend
s. The paranthesis behind each name is ease: Male or Female.
