Surrounding the house, it's clear that the gardens used to be quite magnificent, and expansive. There was even a section in the back for growing more practical plants, such as fruits and vegetables. These days, though, the gardens are spilling out onto the path, choked with weeds, a mere shadow of their former glory. There is still the occasional flower that will push through the weeds, to raise it's head, but they don't last long. Surrounding the gardens, and therefor by default, the rest of the Halfway House, is a twelve foot tall wrought iron fence, with an equally tall creaky gate. Though the fence is a little dinged up, it is more than its dingy appearance suggests. Magical in nature, the gate is capable of keeping the outside out... and the insides in.
