Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows review

This was the first time I read it in Finnish.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows starts almost instantly with a breath-takingly quick action scene and sucks you deep into the darkness, which surrounds both the wizarding and the muggle world.
People die. Dear friends loose their lives. Harry, Hermione and Ron start the unbelievable task on finding the missing horcruxes.

There are happier times, weddings, people finding each other (finally, I might say) and taking action no one believed they were capable of against the Dark Lord.
Throughout the book there's suspense, action and tears in my eyes.
And I can't believe how stupid Harry could be at the times, but then again one must remember he's only 17.

This is a touching ending to a great series. Very much stuff included between the covers, not too many times to take the breath in, but it's worth of it.
It is a good decision to cut it into two films.

As an entire series, you should read it. The story is familiar to all from all the tales we've heard, but Rowling tells it in a new, vivid way, presents us characters we learn to love, hate and then change our mind the next instant.
Harry Potter has the same symbolics that starts in the Christian mythology and it is continued for example in the Matrix - the chosen one, who will take down the evil and save his people.

I strongly recommend it to all who enjoy good stories. I do. *snif*

WARNING! SPOILERS!

And as for the famous last chapter... it was a bit disappointing. If you want to tell what has happened to the characters in their later life, you should tell about ALL the good characters, not just Harry, Hermione and Ron, but Luna, the whole Weasley family, more about Ted Lupin and so on.

That's the only minus I give to the story.
