NAME: Hedley Kow

The fairies have never a penny to spend,
They haven't a thing put by;
But theirs is a dower of bird and flower,
And theirs are the earth and the sky.


House: None can be quite sure. Not even Hedley. Most assume he belong to some obscure and disbanded house, and leave it at that.
Impression: A scarecrow in desperate need of glue and strings to keep himself together. And perhaps some new sticks as well.
M/F: M
Hair: Straw. Lots of straw, barely staying on his head. He constantly sheds straw.
Skin: Golden like wheat. Very dry.
Eyes: Green, and they clearly reveal the lack of higher brain functions.
Clothes: Shabby and patched farmer's clothes.
Other: The straw thing. It isn't only on his head: It pokes out of his sleeves, his pants, his collar, everywhere! He's smaller than a human, but still manages to be gangly. Don't ask why.
Mother: God knows. If she still lives she probably swears that she never conceived a child in her life.
Father: See above.
Siblings: We can only hope that any parents he may have had learned from the result they got and never procreated again. They probably moved to different continents, leaving Hedley to fend for himself. That would explain a lot...
Children: Perish the thought!
Lovers: Get real.

Abilities: The only thing Hedley is good at is shapeshifting, and hiding. He's so good at hiding that it borders on invisibilitiy.
Personality: Hedley Kow is a trickster, and though he does his best he is a very, very pathetic and petty trickster. Not that he notices, so he keeps on overturning soup bowls only to flee while giggling wildly. His favorite trick is to shapechange into a small heap of straw. Then, when a woman sees the wayward heap and bends to pick it up, he makes himself extremely heavy just as she lifts him. The woman is then forced to put him down again, whereupon the heap of straw wizzes away, giggling fit to burst.

This tells you a lot about Hedley Kow.

He is mostly harmless, and if one offers him a saucer of milk at night he keeps away from your house the next day. There are those who don't consider it worth the milk to keep such a harmless funster away, and some actually enjoy his company. But nevertheless he does his best to annoy and cheer up people, and will probably continue to do so for many years to come.
Ambitions: Kow greatly admires Daerian and Kelthain, and hopes that he might one day be allowed to participate in one of their pranks. In the meantime he tries to live up to the standards of his great idols.
Fears: There are few things Kow is afraid of, mostly because he hasn't learned all that much about the world. Yet. Though for some reason he keeps well away from midgets and dead foxes. Nobody knows why.
Likes: Milk, and especially cream. People with a good sense of humour, and those witthout one (all the more fun to make fun of them).
Dislikes: Hard to tell. He has shown a dislike towards vegetables, but that's about it.
Habits: He has several favorite pranks, many which are described above. He never shows his true form to humans, though. He's very strict about that.
Occupation: Mischief maker in the mortal village of Hedley. He's become something of a mascot there, and the inhabitants have practically gotten used to him by now.
Tresured posessions: Erm....his collection of single socks.

NB: Hedley is an actual fairy from real life. People believed that he existed, and he comes from the village of Hedley (from which he got his name). Seriously, how could we not include him in the Seelie Court? Poor Hedley, he's got some rough times ahead.
