Life on Pandora
Neytiri jumped down from her Ikran, Txon and lifted her headband. Glancing around at the darkened camp she smiled. Most we're sleeping at this time of the day, but seeing as she couldn't sleep she had decided to take a ride on Txon. Leaning against Txon neck she closed her eyes and laid her head against him. "It's a beautiful night..." (In Na'vi "its lor txon")Her fingertips glided over his muscular neck as she closed her eyes and listened to his breathing, his heartbeat, his thoughts. Ikran's are wondrous creatures and Txon was one of the most respected Ikran's on Pandora. She placed her fingers over her mouth and yawned gently. "Goodnight, Txon. See you in the new light." Kissing her Ikran's nose she smiled and jumped down into her "bed" made out of giant leaves.
Already in the "bed"
Jake was asleep soundly, finding it soo much nicer to sleep in the company of other Na'vi, dreaming of the days when he was a human and having to use a wheelchair. Twitching a little in his sleep and hissing as images from battles he'd been in before flashed before his eyes, the battle of Pandora still fresh in his minds eye.
Nero took seat in a nearby tree. Sleep deserted him, his mind drawn to patching the wound in his leg "One of these days i'll get around to making a new scabbard" he grumbled to himself. The titanium katana had cut its' way through the sheath again. Fortunately it was only a flesh wound. His re-breather fogged as he winced from sewing the wound.
Jake turned slightly and woke up as his mate aproached. Smiling sleepily and moving up so she could get in. "I see you"
Neytiri turned and smiled softly at Jake. "I see you..." Laying down, she placed her hands over her stomach and stared up at the sky. "Rest your mind now, Jake. Sleep in peace." Yawning gently she glanced around and sighed.
Vincent leaned back against one of the giant, shimmering tree, adjusting his rifle off to the side so that it wouldn't be digging into his shoulder while he slept. He heard as Nero spoke from a nearby tree, not listening to what he was saying, but hearing a human voice none-the-less. He smiled at the sound, gazing up at the sky as a small flock of Ikrans flew over. The new landscape was very different from home, and he was finally getting to settle in.
Finally abandoning any attempts at sleep
Nero dropped noiselessly from the tree to the ground. Rather than risking another injury from the katana he unsheathed it, it's black surface giving off no glint of light. "Hmm, now where to go from here" he looked in both directions debating.
Unlike the others of his tribe, who slept,
Viritay sat high in Hometree, looking down upon the many leaf beds of his fellow Na'vi. It was difficult in such a place not to feel at peace. Viritay had watched as Neytiri had returned. The sun would rise in few short hours, and the new day would begin. With the day, Viritay would start his lessons anew with a different batch of both humans and young Na'vi. He looked forward to the start of the new day. Slipping into his bed, Viritay prayed silently for Eywa to bring him peace in the realm of sleep.
Neytiri closed her eyes for the first time in a several days. Her body slowly began to relax as her mind was set to ease. This allowed her to fall into a deep sleep. It had been six long weeks since the humans had left and things had stayed fairly quiet. But that just put Neytiri on edge. She was stressed and her senses were on full alert. Hopefully she would get a full night worth of sleep this time.
Nodding,
Jake kind of curled up next to Neytiri and yawned, his brain slowly shutting down with some flash backs of happy moments. Like that time at the spirit tree, with a smile on his face he slept.
Neytiri awoke 4 fours later. Yawning, she stretched her long limbs and jumped out of bed. Glancing around she noticed that most everyone was still sleeping. Well of course they were, it was still dark. Sighing she made her way through the trees and wound up at the Tree of Souls. Kneeling down just in front of the trunk of the tree, she brought her long braided Queue to the tree and connected with it. Closing her eyes she inhaled deeply. The faces of many Na'vi who have passed one floated into her mind as she slowly began to talk to Eywa.
I've heard word from some of our warriors that the Tipani Clan is far from happy with us. Eywa, I need your guidance in what I should do. I believe deep in my soul that these humans need to stay with us. We've created bonds with them that, if severed, can never be healed again. Dropping her head, her body began to shake.
I love leading my people but sometimes it's all too much. The Tipani Clan and the Omaticaya have had an Alliance for as long as I can remember. Do I keep the Alliance with the Tipani, or the bond with the humans? She allowed for the connection between her and the tree to be separated. Sitting back, she looked up into the sky. She could smell rain coming. Good, they needed it. The trees were growing thirsty.
Slowly turning over in his sleep,
Jake went to curl up next to Neytiri but when his arm met with the warm bed and not her, he began to stir, his brain panicking as the sights and feelings from the days the forest was destroyed still haunting him in the sleepy hours.
