King Aurthor's Haunting

By: Eyden Of The Leprechauns

The sound of thunder caused Kat to jump several feet into the air. It was dark and storm outside of her cozy home, causing a slight feeling of fear to rest. She was alone, which made her feel vulnerable. However, she knew that anyone stupid enough to attack her was going to pay dearly due to the steal it or he or she would have sticking out of them. Sighing she picked up the painting she had been holding. She was luck it hadn't shattered.

"Whatcha doing?" a voice said from behind her, causing her to yet again jump in the air. "Man, you all right?" Glaring, Kat turned to look at the body that the voice belonged to. A six foot man, with golden locked and a well build, lean body that a woman would drool over. One, which Kat had, but considering the fact the guy was WAY older than she was put a damper on her lust for him. Of course it didn't stop her from caring about the stupid man.

"What have I told you about sneaking up on me." She scolded him. "I hate it when you pop in and out of here as if you own the place. And look what you made me do." she pointed to the glass and the painting on the floor. "That painting is hundreds of years old." He gave her a patronizing look. "What?"

"Kat, I'm a thousands of years old. An old painting means little to me." He put his hands up when he saw she was about to pounce on him for his lack of sensitivity. "Okay, I get it." with a slight flick of his wrist the painting put itself back together. "If that better?"

"A little," Kat retorted. She was obviously still upset so her took the painting from her, which turned out to be a good thing. When the thunder struck again she jumped.

"I figured with your mom out of town and with this storm I'd keep you company." He said as he put the frame on the wall where Kat had put two hooks. "I know you hate storms."

"They're not not my favorite." She answered honestly. She smiled up at him in a gesture of a truce. "Sorry about yelling at you."

"And I'm sorry for startling you." Kat couldn't help, but laugh at his apology. "Why are you laughing?" When she could talk normally and breath right she pointed to him.

"Do you realize that your the only chivalrous man I know." Kat told him. Her eyes gleamed from the fire burning in the hearth. She smiled then bent down to pick up the glass when he grabbed her wrist.

"I'm also the only centuries old King that you know. In my time period women were feared and respected." He took her hand and kissed her knuckles, which caused a wild blush to spread across her cheeks.

"Yeah, yeah." She replied. "IF you want to really make it up to me help me put this painting up on the wall." She ripped her hand away from him and shoved the painting into his hands. "You break this, I'll kill you."

"I'm all ready dead, Kat. And stop bossing me around, I'm Aurthur Pendragon, no one tells me what to do." Kat rolled her eyes as he puffed out his chest. "Hey, I'm being serious."

"Please, you can say over and over again who you are, but you act like a three year old." She spun on her heels to go grab the sword she had bought at an antique auction. "You speak like a spoiled teen, and behave as if you owned the world, which is ironic since I'm the only one who can see you." It was a sad curse she gain by having Morgan La Fey's blood in her. She was the last of the bloodline.

"Would you like to say that again."

"Sure" Aurthur walked up to her back and grabbed her arms by locking them at her side. "What do you think your doing?" Kat asked strained could be heard in her voice. She could feel his breath down her neck, his heat enveloped around her body.

"Proving a point." He said, drawing Kat so close that there wasn't any space between them.

"Which is?" Kat asked breathless. As much as she hated, and she truly did hate it, she reacted to him physically when he was so close.

"That.." He said right into the crevasses of her ear, "I can get you to do anything at my wim, and since you oh so politely pointed out only you can see me, your my world. Thus, I do own my world."

"You don't own me!." Kat attempted to say strongly.

"We'll see about that." He tipped her face back and kissed her.She lost all will to fight after that.
