LRPU Camp

lrpu! - Lazy Role Players United!

Your basic role playing area. A summer camp for those tricky teenagers who're too old to be babysat and too young to know what in the hell they're doing.

This is set in a camp called LRPU Camp. It's five miles from the nearest town and surrounds a large lake with lush forests riding up the valley's sides. There are two docks on either end of the massive lake and several buildings around for various activities. It is a confirmed haunted spot with several ghosts, especially inhabiting the lake and the main reason for the 'NO SWIMMING' signs sticking up around the proximity of it. Kids from any country or dimension are allowed, thus ensuring a very diverse atmosphere.

The counslers are pretty laid back, not very strict with the rules. Which are:

1) All campers must be between the ages of 16-20
2) No excessive fighting/sexing, as there are regular camp activities at any given time
3) No pets/pet familiars allowed
4) If antagonizing the ghosts, please realize that death may ensure
5) All races are welcome, keep that in mind and be polite

Enjoy your stay during the summer break.

(put your name among the players if you're joining)
Players:
Mai Lynn Madness - Melbourne and counslers
M Babes - Zist <- Only his blood and sharp knuckles are
poisonous for this rp, like old school Zist. OH and he's a councilor
And Auset- I think it says she's 16... or 15. If it says 15 she's 16 here.
Kay's Pure, Undiluted Sexiness - Sade - only 19 for this RPG. Also, Dierde, who is 17 for this.
[Ryo-Oni]'s Era Lynn- is 16 in this one and not royal, just belonging to a very rich family.

Melbourne bit his lip as he stepped off of the bus and onto the gravel. This was his first time at LRPU and he was nervous. Dressed in old jeans, a blue shirt, and a really ragged looking jean jacket, the whitish-blond haired Southerner looked back at all of the buses. People of all different breeds and races would be coming off of them and would be joining him at this camp...
'Please don't let none of 'em be any bullies,' he hoped desperately.

"You going to let the rest of us get off the bus or are you just going to stand there admiring the view?" a girl behind him said. Sade was wearing a pair of loose black pants and a tied-up leather midriff top... and odd combination. She ran her hand through her green, loosely-spiked hair and frowned at him through her piercings. She decided to not wait for an answer and swung her duffel bag to her shoulder, pushing past Melbourne and walking out a ways from the bus, eyeing those coming off next.

"Ah, sor-," Melbourne was about to move out of the way, but she already had pushed past him. Frowning a bit, he walked away from the bus and stood awkwardly by a tree, wondering on where to go.
A few counslers stood off to the side, where they were supposed to stand and wait for the students. One of the counslers had blue-dyed hair that was short but not spiked. His drugged-looking brown eyes surveyed the students, but didn't really look at any of them. Counslers didn't have to wear a uniform, so he wore simple jeans and a grey t-shirt that had 'MOTH' taped along the front.

The blue haired counselor was nudged in the side by the counselor standing next to him. Smirking demonically, Zist's eyes sparkled at the arrivals and he said, "I'll handle the introductions."

Sade was frowning at the whole situation; she felt she was a touch too old for camp. However, at the sight of the new counselor, she felt a sense of renewed hope. At the very least, she'd have some nice eye candy.

Mihele, the counsler, only shrugged, still staring straight-forward, "sure." Melbourne was still pretty nervous-looking as he watched the campers.

Without warning, Zist peeled off his tank top and held it out to Mihele saying, "Hold this." Then he let it drop whether Mihele took it or not, flicked his nose with his gloved knuckle and stepped forwards.

Standing dramatically, fisted hands pressed against his hips, Zist flashed a smile and proclaimed, "Welcome everyone. I'm Zist, one of your counselors, I'm sleeping in the cabin over there-" he pointed. "Just to let everybody know. First thing's first, though, we need to split you into two groups." Mihele would probably know this was BS.

Era, who had just jumped off the bus in time for the strange man to yell at the campers, was already filled with tons of excitement. He bounced up and down to try and get a look at the councelors because a good bit of the campers were in front of him already. Era had already decided that he had to make friends and quick.

Mihele held up a hand as the shirt dropped into it. He didn't really seem to mind about what Zist was doing, as he was a very lax individual.
Melbourne's face flushed a bit at Zist's bravado as he quickly adverted his eyes and simply took a few steps back until he was against the tree he was near. This was going to be a long camp...

"Ok!" Zist said. "Adults and minors! 18 and over to the left! 17 and younger to the right. Move it!"

Era pouted at the man's words. Why split the campers up like that? Now everyone would know that Era himself was probably the youngest there. He was always the youngest everywhere! He crossed his arms and moved in the direction as told, an attractive frown set into his freckles.

Melbourne felt his stomach lurch. He wasn't quite eighteen, but his birthday was in a few weeks... So he trudged along in the direction of the adults. He didn't want to be possibly treated like a kid with the seventeen/sixteen-year-olds...

Sade grinned and immediately headed to the adult section off to the left. Without thinking, her hips swayed as she immediately thought that they would have the 'R-rated' version of the camp introduction. She just hoped it involved Zist taking off more clothing.

Once everyone was separated Zist clapped and said, "Ok! Minors! Go find your cabins and unpack! You're gonna have a great time... yada yada yada..." Zist said not even looking at them and drifting over to the adults.

"Hey," Zist said sexily to the entire group. "Just incase some of you didn't hear me the first time, I'm Zist, cabin 2, and if you have any questions, complaints, or you're just homesick and need a shoulder to lean on-" he randomly winked at a particularly hot girl in the crowd. "I'm always available. That being said, go find your cabins. I look forward to seeing you soon."

Sade chuckled to herself as she picked up her bag again, looking at her cabin assignment from a paper she fished out of her pocket. Rita would have turned bright red whenever Zist talked-she tended to get that way around hot guys. Sade found herself homesick again, her thoughts drifting towards Rita and Paolo, before she shook it off and hurried so as to get the best bed that smelled the least like B.O.

Mihele walked over to the under-18 and stared over their heads at nothing particular.
"There's cabins... there," he pointed in the general direction of the other set of cabins. "And when you're done come over to the mess hall... there..." He lazily poked a thumb behind himself at a large building with a glass front. He then turned and began to leisurely walk towards the mess hall.
Melbourne's face was completely red at the openness of the odd counsler. His head fell forward slightly as he sighed and walked with the crowd to find his cabin.

"Alright!" Era soon got out of his pouty phase and threw his luggage onto his shoulders. Ignoring the age boundaries, he bagan walking around from camper to camper, saying his bouncy blonde hellos to everyone on his way to find his own cabin. "Hello." He smiled and waved at an almost albino and particularily sad looking camper, well...he looked sad to Era, anyways. But, what do teenage boys know about feelings?

Standing in the crowd of minors, Auset flipped her hair back and put her hands on her hips watching everything smirking.

Mel stopped, looking a bit confused as he turned to the other blond boy.
"Uhm... hi?" he said slowly.

Era smiled and took a breath. "You okay? You didn't look okay. Actually, you looked kinda down. I know how you feel. I don't know anyone here because none of my brothers would come with me." He took another short breath. "I'll be your friend, though, okay? We'll watch each other's backs!"

Dierde slinked past the two boys, trying to avoid the girl giving everybody smug looks. She just hoped looking like a guy helped her in this case; her teacher said she could put down her wards now but it just wasn't going to happen, not when she was so used to people treating her like a boy. If it wasn't for her current teacher she wouldn't even have come. The guy just mumbled something about Dierde studying too much, or something, and that she 'needed friends her own age.' Well, Dierde had smuggled along quite a few textbooks and planned on burying herself in them until it was time to go home. She just wished she could have brought her mouse, Maus.

Zist gave the group one more flirtatious look and went to join Mihele. "How was that?" he said, not really caring about an answer.

Melbourne stared at Era as if the boy had just told him that he was going to drag him to the middle of the street and shoot him.
"Uh, n-no thanks," he mumbled before turning and quickly walking away to find his cabin.
Mihele shrugged a bit. "Dunno."

Era stopped in his tracks, dumbfounded and shocked. He even dropped one of his bags. "Uh...." Realy, it was very unusuall that the boy ever got to meet new people, and this rejection positively broke his heart. Oh well, on to the next person! He picked up his bags and put on another smile, and around he went again, saying hello and waving to anyone and everyone that happened to get in his line of sight.

"Dunno? You dunno?" Zist said in mock offense. He looked down at Mihele's hand and snatched his tank top. "Gimmemyshirtback," he slurred in a growl and looped it over one of his three fang covered belts.

Sade came out of her cabin, bed fully claimed. The others had... suspicious stains. However, Sade now had an important question, one that would determine her sanity for the rest of camp. She spied Mihele and Zist and decided Zist was the one she'd ask; Mihele just looked really apathetic. Striding up to Zist, she waved slightly. "Hullo," she said. "Does this place have a lake?"

Zist opened his mouth to answer and then looked at Mihele. God knows how he got this job.

Without looking at either one of them, Mihele pointed to the rather large lake that the camp was circled around. There were 'NO SWIMMING' signs posted all around it though it had two docks with boats.
"Haunted though," he said.
Melbourne watched Sade exit a cabin and figured, if anything, bunking with a female would be the safest. He walked into it and made a face. Great, stains. Well, living in a dump had its advantages and one of them was immunity to disgusting. Taking the bed on the other side of the girl, he placed down his bag. He began to unpack, so no one could debunk him easily.

Zist stared in the direction Mihele indicated and nodded, then looked back at Sabe and smiled. "Thus the no swimming signs," Zist said, pointing out the obvious.

Sade pulled a face at the news. "Seriously?" she griped. "I mean..." She folded her arms, figuring that she'd have to sneak out there later. Ghosts be damned; if she was out of the water for more than a few more days somebody was going to be joining the spirits in the water, and she wasn't sure if it would be her. Of course, out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a boy going into her cabin. He'd better be of the not-messy variety. "Thanks, though," she said to Zist, her mind now elsewhere as she headed towards her cabin once more, to unpack and keep an eye on the guy.

Dierde found a cabin that didn't smell of mulch and jumped on a bed, claiming it. She leaned back and sighed. It wasn't about the stain in the corner of her bed; she had a solvent she could whip up to take care of it. It was the fact that she even had to be here. Dierde frowned and pulled the hood of her robe down over her eyes, rolling over to her stomach.

"What do you think of that one?" Zist asked Mihele after Sabe walked away.

Era, overhearing the councelors talking to the girl, got a great dose of shivers. Haunted? "Oh, no." He look a long look at the lake and got a little scared, though, he would never admit to that. So, to protect his pride, he decided to get into a cabin, and quickly. He just burst into the first cabin he came to and saw it was already inhabited and then recongnised one of them. "Oh! Hey!" He chimed at Mel. "It's okay if you don't want to be my buddy. I understand that, too. Say? Did you know that the lake is haunted? I think I'll just stay here...if you don't mind, that is."

Mihele didn't look at Zist (by this point, it's given that Mihele makes no eye contact or doesn't even bother to look at anyone) as he replied, "she said thanks."
Melbourne tensed, eyes wide, the second Era entered into the cabin. He feared, greatly, that this person didn't know what personal spaec was, nor how to appreciate silence. And what's this? Haunted? Mel's face fell at the news. Ghosts had a nasty habit of bothering him at times...
"Uhm. No..." he said distractedly as he went back to unpacking. His hand instinctively brushed his back pocket, feeling his box cutter there. It was a good sense of security for him.

"Yes she did. I'm glad to see you're paying attention, Mihele," said Zist and he patted him on the shoulder as he headed off to his cabin.

Auset exaggerated the weight of her bags as she dragged them into Dierde's cabin. Once through the door she made a disgusted face and sighed in annoyance before claiming a bed, not even noticing Dierde was there.

Dierde looked up, saw the smirking girl from before, then pulled her hood down further on her head.

Sade made it to the door of her cabin, frowning at the not one, but two boys in there. "You guys stay outta my shit, that's all I'm gonna say," Sade announced, walking over to her bed and starting to unpack.

Era sat down on a bunk across the room, which wasn't far seeing that the cabin wasn't exactly huge. "Oh." Era's face turned slightly pink. "I didn't know a girl was staying in here too." He took a breath, poised to begin talking, but had a thought and let the breath out. She seemed a bit annoyed, and Era wasn't dumb. He decided to be a bit more quiet untill these people excepted him...or just threw him out while he was asleep or something.

Mihele just headed to the mess hall, hungry and doing what he was supposed to do. All of the campers were to report to the mess hall once finished unpacking to get their schedules of fun times for the week.
Melbourne didn't say anything. Why did some people always feel the need to mark their place by shouting out an order? He put the last of his crap in the last drawer before shoving the rest of it underneath the bed. The hell with it. He grabbed a hoodie, exchanging it for the jean jacket he wore. Mel changed quickly, so no one could see his arms. Once hooded up in the dark blue material, he exited the cabin.

Sade looked outside and decided it was a bit cold. She was used to cold water, but for the air, she threw on a jacket to warm her arms. She left it unbuttoned, wondering for the thirteenth time if she should get her bellybutton pierced, then went to leave. She paused, then looked over her shoulder at the other guy still there. "You ready?" she asked.

Dierde tried to sit up and sneak out of her cabin without unpacking, so she wouldn't have to talk to Auset. The girl looked generally unhappy with life.

Era jumped up and skidded to Sade's side. Now, finally being noticed without having to say anything, he was happy happy happy. "Yes." He gave her a squinty eyed grin. "Can I stay with you? You know...to, uh, protect you from the ghosts and all."

"Yeah, sure kid," Sade said, a little put-off by his enthusiasm. "Protect me. Why not. Hey, you know a lot about the ghosts in the lake?" she asked, frowning. Maybe they were just indifferent spirits unless you like peed there or something.

Auset jumped when she noticed Dierde move. "Who?! Oh..." she put on a sexy smile. "Hi..."

Dierde winced. This new look was almost as bad as the girl glaring at her. "Er, hi," she said, deciding that it's alright now to pack. She began taking out her textbooks and shoving them under her bed for later, trying not to make eye contact.

Melbourne entered the mess hall, his hands in his hoodie's pockets as he looked around. The mess hall was very large with several long tables. To the left there were several doors; some led to the kitchen while others led to the bathroom. Mel reached behind to his back pocket and figured now would be a good a time as any as he headed towards the male restroom.
Mihele was already sitting ontop of one of the tables, waiting patiently for everyone to arrive.

"No." Era responded to her, while they made their way to the mess hall. His main burst of hyperness had worn off, so he was less spazzy now. "I just heard the lake was haunted, and that's all. Oh, by the way! I'm Era. Era Lynn."

"What's your name?" Auset asked, walking over.

"Sade," Sade replied, just as Deirde was answering Auset with a quick mutter of "Dierde."

Sade opened the door to the mess hall, nodding at Mihele. She should ask him later if the ghosts were easily upset.

Dierde started taking out small things wrapped in paper and putting them under her bed to unwrap later. "What's your name?" she asked quietly, wishing Auset would just lose interest. The worst case scenario was that she was being hit on, and the best case was that Auset was just being friendly. Either way, Dierde wasn't incredibly interested.

"Auset," she was foreign so she didn't pick up on the girly name.

"Ah," Dierde said. "Well... We should get to the mess hall." Dierde stood, figuring on unpacking her robes later, and hoped all of the activities were optional. Or maybe she could fake illness; she had this potion that could... No, better wait and see.

Melbourne sighed in relief as he put away the box cutter, briefly closing his eyes. Alright. Now maybe he wouldn't do something stupid. Pulling down the right sleeve of his hoodie, he exited the bathroom and took a seat away from the doors. By now, the other nameless and background character campers were filing into the building, being rowdy and generally having fun getting to know one another. Mihele did nothing to silence them, seeming to be lost in a daydream.

Era, who was close at Sade's heels was basically doing the same as when he first got off the bus, which was smiling and saying hello to everyone. It was hard not to be excited in this environment for him. Then, he saw Mel again and waved quickly, hoping the guy would join his cabin buddies. However, Era tried not to be too forward....The guy didn't seem too fond of that kind of stuff.

"Oh? Could you walk me there?" asked Auset, doing her best to look all cute an pathetic.

Zist finally entered, his tank top back on. He reminded people of his cabin number on the way and sat down beside Mihele.

Dierde bit her lip, trying not to look worried. Auset was doing all the things that some girls sometimes did around Dierde. Dierde didn't want to lead Auset on, because nothing was going to happen... At least, if something did happen, one of them would end up very surprised and possibly angry. But Dierde didn't really know how to bring it up, so she just nodded and walked outside, holding the door open for Auset as she tried to think about what to do.

Sade winked at one of the other camp members, which caused him to flush a bright red. She grinned. The mess hall was getting warmer, so she shrugged off her jacket, maintaining eye contact with another guy as she did so. Then, losing interest, she looked over her shoulder to see Era wave at Mel. "Hey, Era," she asked. "What's up with that guy?" She nodded at Mel. "Is he just not very friendly?"

Zist watched everyone come in and looked at Mihele zoning off. He leaned sideways towards him and said, "My shirt's back on."

Melbourne didn't see Era wave to him as he was staring at the table, resting a cheek against his hand.
Mihele didn't reply for a moment before coming out with a dull, "congrats."

Shrugging, Era looked back to Sade. "I don't know. Maybe I scared him." He looked himself over. Maybe Era was just more intimidating than he thought. He smiled at the that notion. "You wanna go see if he wants someone to sit with?"

"Awww, thanks," said Zist and he rested his head on his shoulder for a millisecond before sitting back up and scanning the crowd, wondering if anyone had enough balls to come sit with him. They would be his first prey, bwahaha.

"Eh, sure," Sade said to Era, not noticing the borderline malicious look on Zist's face. She might have taken it as a dare. Sade found herself not that interested in hanging out with the people closer to her own age. Although she liked to flirt, when it came down to it, she was pretty indifferent to who she hung out with. She began to walk to Mel with confident strides, not really wondering if the two would get rejected. "Hey," she said as she got to Mel, sitting across from him without asking permission. "We're cabin mates. We should get to know each other."

Era himself plopped down right beside Mel, but didn't realy say anything. As noted before, Era sometimes knew when not to speak and just sit contently.

Auset walked out, making sure her shoulder brushed Dierde slightly and that she caught a smile.

Mihele was waiting for the last few campers to come in before telling them that lunch would be served.
Melbourne blinked as he retracted his head from his hand and tensed when Era took a seat next to him. He placed his arms on his lap as he stared at the table.
"Uh, sure..." he said.

"I'm Sade. Your name, now," Sade said, not really a question, more of a suggestion of something for him to say.

Dierde suppressed growing panic and hung her head on the way to the messhall. Dierde was sometimes informed that she was a genius when it came to magic. With any other aspect of life, she was... Well, her teacher used the term 'socially retarded.' When they got to the messhall, Dierde looked for the first opportunity to bolt off and sit with some guys, so that she wouldn't get flirted with.

"Melbourne..." he said after a moment with a small frown. He didn't particuarily care to be forced to give his name.
Mihele figured enough people were there as he stood up.
"Hey," he said, though only a few campers turned to pay any attention.

"Cool," Sade said, unperturbed by his miffed look. "Nice t'meet ya." She glanced at Mihele, but didn't really know if he was talking to the campers in general or just one person.

"Psst. Take your shirt off..." Zist said hoarsely out of the corner of his mouth.

"So, lunch's being served... that way," he pointed to his right, the camper's left. "Then we'll hand out papers that you can look at. And..." he trailed off before getting off of the table and heading towards the lunchline.
Anyone following would find a small variety; pizza, nachos with cheese, chicken sandwich, or salad with either milk or some sort of juice and a bag of chips or what have you.

After listening to the councelor, Era leaned in to Melbourne. "I'm Era...I don't think I've told you yet." He stood up, ready for some food. "Hey? You want me to get yours, Mel? You look like you don't feel well. My big brother always gets me things when I don't feel well."

Sade stood up, too, hoping they didn't serve anything too fatty. That was another thing she didn't like about coming here; the food outside of her home usually made her feel at least a little ill. "Yeah, Melbourne," she said. "What do you like?"

Melbourne closed his eyes as Era ranted to him, feeling like Era just didn't get body signals well at all. And when Sade jumped in, Mel quickly stood up.
"I got it," he said softly before moving away from the table. He was defintely going to pick a different seat...
Mihele exited the lunch line with some pizza and two milks as he took a regular seat at the table he had been sitting on. He began to chomp on his food, staring at it.

Sade shrugged. She didn't know what was bothering this boy, but she honestly didn't feel like putting in more effort into trying to talk with him. She got into line, grabbed some salad, a chicken sandwich and a water. She just hoped she could scrape off a bunch of the sandwich. Sade made it back to the table relatively quickly, having chosen her food fast and passing others in line. She kicked back in her seat, picking at her salad. It was nothing like the food at home. Landlubbers were so weird.

Again, Era stood there a bit shocked. Nothing was working here. He sighed and went through the line himself, not realy paying attention to what he grabbed and then sat back in front of Sade. "I don't think I'm going to like it here...." He told her, just in case she would listen. "No one is happy." He put one elbow in the table and rested his chin in his palm with a slight pout to his bottom lip while he absentmindedly poked his finger at his whatever food.

Melbourne found himself returning to the table and sitting where he sat before, beside Era. He simply stared at his nachos for a moment before beginning to eat them, slowly. Wasn't the worst food, but defintely wasn't the best.

Zist stood up and gave an over exaggerated stretch before hopping down and fetching some food himself.

Auset was extremely confused when her cabin buddy disappeared on her, but they lived together, she's be seeing him soon. She looked around and saw a empty chair but some older boys, and she skipped off to get her food and claim that seat as quick as she could.

Era perked up a little when Mel came back but kept silent. Releasing the pout on his face, he gave a little smile. Maybe all he had to do was shut up. Still, however, he didn't know how long he would last in this drab atmosphere with all these less than cheery people.

Mel didn't glance at Era but did say, "just... don't ramble." He had done some thinking in the food line, remembering how crushed Era looked here and before, when he first turned him away. He felt guilty about being the cause for that look.
Mihele was waiting for everyone to eat before he gave the official greeting.

Zist crunched and apple loudly and lounged oddly in the chair, with one leg up on an arm rest.

"Oh...uh...alright!" Era nodded vigorously with a grin. He seemed to be able to pull himself out of his momentary depression quite quickly, mainly because he felt, with Mel's words, that he was now making strides to friendship with his fellow campers. Perhaps the summer wouldn't be so bad after all.

"Hm," Sade said, her mouth twitching into a smirk before she hid it with a regular smile. There's hope for the kid yet. At least he wouldn't be her own personal raincloud. She took a bite of her chicken sandwich and made a face. She didn't know why these people were so obsessed with the birds, but it wasn't red meat, so at least she could try and digest it. How they got it both too oily and too dry, however, was a mystery beyond her comprehension. "So what are you kids doing at camp?" she asked, setting down the sandwich and picking at her salad.

Dierde was busy getting punched in the shoulder. Typical male bonding. She just tried not to wince, and laughed and punched back. Once again, she found herself wondering why there wasn't a third sex she could imitate, but sacrifices had to be made. Girls weren't supposed to perform magic. That was a lesson she had learned the hard way. She absentmindedly drank some milk as she held a finger over her apple, spinning it while listening to the boy's conversation.

Melbourne shrugged, chomping on his nachos with cheese. "Got sent here," he said.

"My dad said it would be fun!" Era pipped in. "I guess he didn't want me to be alone. All my brothers are going away this summer. Aiden, well, he's off to do some wilderness searching or something, and the others are going into some sort of training camp, and...." He began to go into stories and details about his brothers before he stopped short in the middle of a sentence, remembering that he wasn't suppose to ramble while he was here.

"Thanks," Sade said, referring to Era cutting himself off. "For me, my parents referred to it as 'training' for being among... er, other people." Sade rolled her eyes. "It was the only place they could find that would accept me, really, and for the whole summer. Pretty lame, though."

Melbourne listened to this, and wondered what it would be like if his father cared... It'd be odd, defintely. He had been sent by his school counsler, not his father.
Mihele finished off his meal as he went to stand up on the table.
"Hey," he said again, not bothering to raise his voice. Didn't matter to him if the kids listened or not. "Welcome to camp. You can't swim in the lake. It's haunted. There's an indoor pool... somewhere... you can swim in that. Over there," he pointed lazily to the left where there was a table with hand-outs on it, "is the schedule. It tells you all the stuff you need to know." And with that, he went to sit back down.
The Handouts explained to the campers that events and such were organized by cabin number and that kids could enjoy such activities as; crafts, dancing, archery, swimming, fishing, hiking, ghost walks (at night, of course), insect collecting, bird watching, sports, and other shit. Sky's the limit.

Sade immediately got up and grabbed some schedules. It was mostly for herself, but she dropped some on the table for Era and Mel if they wanted some. "Fuck, an indoor pool?" she griped. "That's the best I got? Gawd, I can't breath in that stuff." She didn't even pay attention to the other activities. Dancing, of course, was out of the question; she still messed up with walking, and that's after a huge amount of practice.

"Ooh, guys! Ghost walks. That would be fun." Era's sky colored eyes scanned the paper quickly, his mind hungry for the activities. "Oh, and archery!" He couldn't keep the grin from his freckle splashed face as he imagined how fun it would be to do all the activities.

Melbourne took one and immediately felt the back of his neck grow cold. A ghost walk. He skimmed the other activities and frowned when he didn't see anything with art. Just crafts.
Mihele didn't look to Zist as he said, "have fun."

"Oh, I will," Zist smirked and then paused. "... with what?"

Mihele shrugged, standing as he left his tray where it was and began to walk out.

Sade decided her food was done for. The salad was halfway gone and she had managed to eat more of the bread, but other than that and her drinks, there wasn't much she found palatable. "Ghosts are okay," she said to Era. "Some of'em can be a bit grumpy." There were a lot of them were she was from, but you learned to ignore them, and they didn't really mind you that much.

Era sighed and placed the sheet to the side on the table. "I just wish we could go swimming. I realy like to swim, and the lake is right there!" He huffed out a breath. "Of all things, it has to be haunted!"

Sade paused, then bit her lip, thinking of whether or not to tell them. "Weeeell," she started hesitantly. "I was thinking about sneaking out there later anyway..."

"All right!" The blonde, bouncy boy exclaimed. "Then I shall be your escourt. You know, to keep you safe and everything." Era stood from his seat, not having eaten any of his food, realy. "My brothers taught me how to protect a lady."

Sade leaned her face on her hand, smiling somewhat. "Thanks, kid," she said. "That's really, uh, chivalrous or something." She bit her lip. "I wonder if the ghosts are nocturnal?" she said, more talking to herself aloud than anything. She was more or less done with her food and began looking around for a garbage can. "Hey, Mel. You done eating?" she asked, still looking.

Melbourne listened to them talking and had to wonder about the whole sneaking out at night thing. His experiences with the super natural usually went awry in someway or another. He loathed his sixth sense like no other. Mel blinked as he looked at her.
"Huh? Uh, yeah..." He was the only one to have finished his meal completely. Garbage cans were around the vicinity as Melbourne stood up and walked to one to throw away his stuff.
The first day was just to lounge around and meet other campers and explore the area. Counslers were about to guide the campers, who were to meet at the mess hall for dinner, and then go to a bonfire in the evening.

Dierde stretched as she stood outside the cafeteria. She was alone for now, having ditched the group of boys she had been with. She would catch up with them later, but boys were only cool in small amounts. They were kind of loud, and... rowdy. Dierde rubbed her arm, where she had gotten punched.

Sade threw away her mostly uneaten food and wandered outside, blinking in the afternoon sun and thinking about taking smoking, if only to get some quiet time. A bunch of kids were running around, which was kind of annoying. She spotted Dierde and decided to tease him. "Hey, kid, what's with the dress?" she asked.

"Robe," Dierde corrected, although not maliciously. "It's what all mages wear."

Era, being his usuall self, decided to follow Mel as he went to toss his own food, too. "So, you coming, too, Mel?" His smile was no less than playfully slapped on his freckled face. He liked the idea of doing something against the rules...even if it didn't seem as though the counslers would do much about it anyways. "Though a bonfire sounds cool."

Melbourne shook his head. "No, I don't like ghosts." He wondered if Era would follow him around all day as he went to exit the mess hall and get to exploring the area.
Mihele lounged around by the lake, answering questions when asked by campers.

"Mage?" Sade asked. "I do a bit of magic myself, sort of. ...hey, you know anything about ghosts?"

"The supernatural isn't my specialty," Dierde said, hesitantly, suddenly wary. This Sade was very obviously female, and didn't feel awkward about admitting her ability. Maybe the disguise wasn't the way to go.

Era tailed behind his new friend. His face became a bit flustered since he hadn't expected the answer Mel had given him. "Er...well." That would mean he'd have to be alone with Sade if he were to make sure she was alright in the lake...with the ghosts, and he didn't have much of any experiance with girls. "How about the bonfire?"

Melbourne glanced at him as he put his hands into his hoodie's pocket.
"No... I think I'll just go back to the cabin when that happens," he said, defintely thinking of cutting to relieve stress. Mel never got used to unknown places easily... Nor talking to someone like Era. Melbourne was heading towards the archery building. He did think that would be interesting.

Era became a bit fidgety as he walked along with Mel. "You gonna be okay by yourself?" Now he felt torn. Either stay with Sade at the lake or stay with a more comfortable to be around gender. He had to stick with his more chivalry oriented side, though, and protect the lady.

Melbourne gave him an odd look. "Uhm... yeah, considerin' I'm usually alone anyway."

"But what do you know about them?" Sade asked. "Even if it isn't your specialty."

"Er, usually vengeful, sometimes helpful..." Dierde said. "And... Uh, they're the remnants of dead people? In some cultures, it's not the soul, but just a bit of their essence that gets left behind..."

Sade shook her head. "Well, if you can work magic, you should come with me when I go to the lake. If something happens, I could use help."

Dierde's eyes widened in surprise. "Ah... er... I... alright," she finally said. "Yeah... sure."

The valley ensured an early evening. At six o'clock, orange and blue streaked the sky and the camp was in semi-darkness. A few counslers had flashlights to ensure that visibility could be had. There were flood lights near the mess hall, but no one would be around that area.

At the other end of the lake, away from the mess hall, a bonfire was being held near the archery area. There were wooden benches around the massive fire pit, ensuring that most can sit. Kids were already sitting down and chatting, having fun making their new friends and the like.

Mihele stood beside the fire pit, feeding branches and the like into the small fire. Several large logs were already stacked in a certain way ontop of it to ensure that a large fire would be roaring. S'mores would be had, as marshmellows, chocolate, and graham crackers were sitting beside him on a blanket.
Melbourne wouldn't be at the fire, sitting on his bed in the cabin and doodling in a notebook. The lights in the cabins were dim, but he didn't mind.

At the bonfire, Era was already snuggled down comfortably on a log, watching the brilliant flames lick the air. His arms were wrapped around his knees with his chin propped between his caps. Somehow, he had lost Sade. Maybe it would be a good idea to go to the lake to find her....He shuddered at that idea. The light bounced off his skin, giving his freckles an odd touch as he let his eyes scan across the rest of the campers with a slight sigh. Maybe he could go find Mel at the cabin. He might not mind too much. Era stood with a smile.

Zist was simply having fun setting things on fire. He stabbed a pile of dry leaves and suck them in to make a brief torch, which he stared boredly at. Oh, what a role model.

Dierde was sitting on the opposite side of the fire as Era. Sade had told her to wait for a bit, because she had to go get something... Or something. Dierde was already worried about being roped into this. She was given another marshmallow as she waited, which she levitated over the fire and rotated, carefully watching it to make sure it didn't burn. Sticks were unhygienic.

Mihele tossed another log onto the fire and with a sudden FWOOSH it lit up and raged largely. Those sitting closeby would undoubtedly feel the heat as Mihele calmly took a few steps back.
"Watch out," he said.

Inch by ince, Era wandered away from the bonfire, determined to make it seem like he wasn't realy heading in any direction. He could feel his skin tingle with a slight chill as he found himself farther and farther away from the crowd and crackling flames. Soon, he made it to his destination, the cabin, and scooted himself right in. He tried to put on a nonchalant expression as he spotted Melbourne. "It got kinda boring at the fire."

Melbourne's body tensed as he looked up. He had been mere seconds away from taking out his cutter. Swallowing, he just kind of shrugged before looking back down at the drawing he had been staring at for the past five minutes.

Within seconds, Era was at Mel's side and sitting on the edge of the bunk. "Whatcha doing?" He asked with a slight tilt to his head, refusing to look at the page untill Mel said that he could.

Melbourne inched away from him as the thought of someone else on a bed was a bit intruding on the personal space issue.
"Nothin' really," he said, tilting his notebook away from Era. He didn't really wish for the kid to see what he was drawing.

"So, what's the plan Mihele?" asked Zist shaking the last smoldering leaves off his stick. "Songs? Theatre games? Ghost stories? Going to throw a kid in the fire as a heathen sacrifice?"

Dierde's eyes went wild as she overheard Zist. "You guys really do that?" she asked in almost a whisper.

Sade came up at that moment. Something was bulging in her pocket as she sat down by Dierde. She looked around with a bored look, evaluating that they might not get away so easily. Later, she thought.

"Hm. Latter sounds good. Jump on in," Mihele replied, bending down to get a marshmellow. He put it on a sharpened stick and held it out to his side, simply waiting for a camper to take it.

Zist snatched it from him instead. "Well, Mr. Sassy Pants," he said then carefully angled the marshmallow to a good roasting point. "Let's plaaaay... hahaha, no. Wait. Ok," he said to himself. He then leaned towards Mihele and hoarsely and dramatically loud-whispered, "Truth... or daaare."

"Okay then." Era pipped from his seat back at the cabin while bouncing a bit on the bed's edge. He sat in silence for a minute and then opened his mouth to talk, but found it dificult to get any words out. It wasn't suppose to be this hard to communicate with someone. "You don't...like people around, do you?" He finally asked Mel.

A few of the campers who overheard enthusiastically proclaimed their agreements as Mihele shrugged, slowly lowering his arm.
"PG," was his reply.

Melbourne glanced up at Era before looking back at the tablet. A simple answer might get him away from him... But, it was kind of nice having the company. Annoying as it might be. Mel sighed a little bit before shaking his head.
"I'm not really 'round them much... So guess it's more like I don't know how to act or talk..."

Sade sighed, almost pouting. "Serious?" she muttered under her breath. "I haven't played truth or dare since middle school." She looked around, bored already, and noticed that Era and Mel were gone. Maybe they nipped off for a cuddle, she thought, grinning mischievously.

"Yeah, we'll try," said Zist not sounding at all honest.

"Oh!" Era's face lit up with realization. "Like with girls, right? I have three brothers and I've not seen my mom much." He scooted back to the headboard to rest against it and pulled his leg up so that he could lay his chin there. "But, it's fun, right? Learning, I mean."

"Hm," Mihele shrugged, putting another marshmellow on a stick and holding it out for whoever to take.

Melbourne gave him a weird once-over before moving to the edge of the bed to be not-so-close to the intruder. He closed his notebook and shook his head, putting it underneath the bed.
"Not really..." he opened his mouth to say more, but shut it. No need to hand out personal information and all.

Sade took the proffered marshmallow. She thought of several ways to tease basically every male there while watching it roast, and decided to save it for later. She was a bit of a perfectionist when it came to her marshmallow, wanting it perfectly golden and melted all the way through, and these things took time. "So, who's going first?" Sade asked with a smirk. She didn't really want to join in, but if anything, she was determined to have a good time. If the lake was as bad as Mihele said it was, this could be her last night alive, and she'd rather enjoy it.

Era's eyebrows furrowed only slightly as he mearly blinked at Mel. "To each their own, I guess." He finally said in a cheery tone. If nothing at all, the boy accepted other's views as simply a part of the world. Though, he usually didn't understand the views. "You know, I bet you could have loads of fun here if you'd let yourself." He swung his foot a bit off the side of the bed. Mel just always seemed so sad to him.

Melbourne glanced at him before replying, "I didn't want to come here in the first place. 'Sides, it isn't really any of your business if I have fun or not." He didn't say it with a mean tone, more like 'why are you concerned?'. He could never understand people who were so selfless like that, to be concerned over others...

"Of coarse it's my business, Mel. I'm your buddy now." He gave an eye crinkling grin as if that was an axiomatic kind of knowledge. "We can make it to where you'll forget that you didn't want to be here."

Melbourne felt the hairs on the back of his neck rise as he stared at Era. That sounded like something from a horror movie, where the evil villian's plans included sucking everyone's free will out of them to turn them into mindless zombies.
Only in this case, the zombies would be smiling and hugging each other and perhaps singing 'cum-by-ya m'lord'. Melbourne parted his lips, not knowing how to reply to that exactly.
"Uhm... maybe..."

Mihele readied another marshmellow as he said to Zist, "starting any time soon?"

"Well fine, you. Truth or dare," Zist said.

Era's face fell from his grin as he plopped his chin back down onto his knee cap with a huff. Mel's response hadn't realy been what he was looking for. What was he expecting, exactly? People couldn't just turn happy on a dime. "Well...." The boy chewed a bit on the inside of his lip, not knowing anymore to say that might cheer someone up. "I guess I'll just...uh...head out to find Sade, now." From the bed's edge he bounced up. Maybe Mel didn't want to have fun here. "You should come out, too, ya know." He gave another quick smile and shrug while heading out the door. "They have marshmallows."

"Truth," Mihele said plainly as a kid took the stick of marshmellow.
Melbourne watched Era for a moment before sighing heavily. "Wait up," he found himself saying as he set down the notebook. Brushing his fingers over his back pocket, he strode over to Era. "I'll go."

"Realy?! Great!" Era's curls bobbed with the one bounce he put into his step before aligning his footing with Mel's. He didn't say anything else from fear of it makeing Melbourne turn and head back in, so he just trotted along in silent contentment.

"So, uh... why'd you come here?" Sade muttered to Dierde. It wasn't that she wasn't interested in the game, she just wasn't giving it her full attention.

"My master said I was socially... er, inept," Dierde replied. "What's Truth or Dare?" Sade gave Dierde an odd look, then made a shrugging motion, as if to say, 'figure it out.'

Zist tapped his finger on his lips as he thought, then he curled it under his chin. Since Mihele pretty much emotionally dead, "... What turns you on?"

Melbourne just walked to there, hands shoved in his pockets. Why'd he agree? When the two approached the large bonfire, and seeing the amount of kids, he just hung back a bit.
"A light switch," Mihele replied to Zist.

"Lame answer," Sade said, calling Mihele on that. "And not true. You don't have a light switch." She spied Melbourne and Era at the edge of the campfire, giving them a little wave.

"What's going on?" Era asked as he spotted Sade and moved over to her side. "Things feel more exciting, now." He grinned, looking back to make sure Mel hadn't made a break for it.

"Truth or Dare," Sade said. "Era, this is Dierde. Dierde, Era. Dierde can perform magic; he'll be helping me out tonight, so you don't have to be there if you won't want." Dierde looked a tad uncomfortable at the declaration of her help and was obviously strong-armed into it.

Mihele shrugged when Sade called out.
Melbourne followed Era, hanging a little ways from him. He listened to them, wondering what Sade was talking about.

"Hullo there, Dierde!" Era chimed while plopping himself down right beside the two. He had barely been able to catch the person's name and didn't even hear what last words Sade had said. Once 'Truth or Dare' came out of her mouth, that's almost all the could think of. "I love this game. I always do dare." His voice almost had the tone of hautiness. "I'm not afraid to do anything."

Sade reached out and ruffled Era's hair. "I'm sure, kid," she said, grinning.

When Sabe had said that to Mihele, Zist pointed at her and randomly said, "New favorite person. Your turn," he said to Mihele. "Oh, and you can't do me, since I asked you." This wasn't a real rule. He just knew Mihele's wouldn't be very fun.

Without looking, Mihele pointed over to Sade as well. "Truth or dare."

Sade smiled, although not evilly. "Let's go with truth. I don't want to know what you perverts would dare me to do." She winked at Mihele, even now knowing he would probably give her the dead-eye look again.

Mihele seemed to consider a moment before asking bluntly, "did you breastfeed?" Several campers snickered at the question whil a few others laughed out loud. Many of them looked either uncomfortable or just had questionable looks on their faces.
Melbourne blinked at this and stared at Mihele. What the hell kind of a question was that?!

Sade furrowed her eyebrows. "Uh," she said, almost concerned. The question had totally and completely knocked her for a loop. "Well, I'm going to assume that you're asking if I breastfed as a child, since I haven't had any of my own. And, uh... No, actually. I hatched. My turn," she added abruptly, turning to Melbourne. "Truth or dare."

Era bounced in his seat, making his curls bob childishly. "Ooh, ooh, pick dare, Mel, pick dare!"

"Hm," Mihele noted. Hatching is always fun.
Melbourne's face flushed a bit. He hated this game completely. He glanced at Era before his eyes darted elsewhere and he muttered, "truth." If it was a bad question, he could always lie. No big deal.

Sade bit her lip, trying to think. She didn't want to scar the kid for life. "What was the most embarrassing thing to happen to you?" Sade said. Most people just picked the most embarrassing thing they felt comfortable with sharing, so she figured it was safe enough.

Era's face contorted to a slightly irritated pout that gave his whole face a rather comical look. "Truth is no fun." He muttered to himself with crossed, freckled arms. He desperately hoped that this wouldn't be a game of just truth.

Melbourne gave a discontented sigh/groan as he crossed his arms over his stomach.
"I dunno," he said, thinking of something to share. "My cat had scratched my face up pretty bad and the teacher thought I had hurt myself..." It wasn't the worst thing that had ever happened to him, obviously.

"Well, uh, that... sucks," Sade said, not willing to push it, like she had done with Mihele. "Your turn."

Melbourne sighed a little, "Era. Truth or dare."
Mihele poked at Zist with a stick to see if he was still alive or not.

With an instant, Era's face was lifted back into his smile, and jittery elation made him bounce a few times more in his place. "Dare!" His face cocked a bit backwards as if this had made him the bravest among all the campers plus councelors there.

Zist was staring off, rolling a marshmallow in his mouth and he flinched with a full mouthed, "'Ey!"

"Vital signs positive," Mihele duly noted.
Melbourne thought a moment what Era would like to do. Argh, this was hard. He was chipper and exuberant and exciteable...
"Sing something," he said after a moment.

"My brother likes to sing!" Era said in awed and amused wonder at getting such a lovely dare. "Okay now." He put his fingertips to his chin and thought for a moment before jumping to his feet and taking in a big lungfull of air. His singing wasn't too terible nor too wonderful, but good enough to be entertaining as he sang a short, funny tune about a young lad who played an aweful trick on his fat stepmother.

Dierde was practically giggling at the end of the song, while Sade just looked on with a bemused look. "Good show!" Dierde said, laughing, before she shut up and flushed.

Zist popped another marshmallow in his mouth, his left cheek bulging as he scowled, finding this game horribly lame so far.

Melbourne listened, smiling a little. Funny song. He waited for the next person to be picked.
Mihele poked at Zist with a stick again, "it's PG alright."

Era stopped with a self satisfied smirk to his face and straightened his clothes. "Thank you. Thank you very much." He gave a short bow and then looked around for his victim of the game and spotted the counselor Zist, who looked very bored. "You there, mister. Truth or Dare?"

Zist's eyes slid up almost angrily as he stopped rolling the marshmallow around and stared. Hell would this kid think up anything fun. "Dare," he said flatly, the marshmallow muffling his voice.

Sade grabbed the back of Era's shirt unceremoniously and yanked the boy towards her, whispering in his ear.

Era actually had a very good idea for a dare, but he gave a slight, quiet yelp when pulled back, which made his face turn red in embarrassment. "What?"

Sade took his blush as refusal. "Never mind," Sade sighed. "You don't have to use that one." Her eyes rested on Zist a little longer than usual. "Damn shame," she muttered.

Dierde, who had been right next to Sade and heard what she said to Era, turned a bright red that inflamed her to the tips of her ears as she tried not to look at Zist.

Melbourne arched an eyebrow as he noticed them blushing. What the hell did Sade tell Era? He admitted that he was curious, but not curious enough to question her.

Era straightened himself with a cough that helped him find his thoughts again. "I think I know what to use." He would use a little of what Sade had suggested, since a dare like that would sure enough take the boredom out of anyone. "Okay mister councelor sir! I dare you to do something that you know no one else would do, and if someone proves you wrong and follows you up on it, you have to strip and jump into the lake." He grinned.

Zist jerked his head back then looked at Mihele. "... Wont that kill me?"

A few of the kids listening gave loud shouts, especially the girls. Stripping was okay with them! Melbourne stared at Era, trying to reword what the kid said in his mind. He then blushed a bit at the notion and lowered his head. Kids today...
Mihele shrugged, "death is certain, yes. Good luck with it."

2008-02-20 [Ryo-Oni]: Heh, I'll have some readings to do, but I'll stay on for another 30 or so minutes.

2008-02-24 [Mai Lynn]: DX I'm giving Mel a shot of endorphines.

2008-02-24 [Ryo-Oni]: YAY

2008-02-24 [Mai Lynn]: HUZZAH

2008-02-27 [Mai Lynn]: Don't know how yins wanna go about the activities, but if you can list other fun shit than what I did, by all means. XD I'm going from memory here.

2008-03-04 [Mai Lynn]: *laughs evilly at Sade* Yeah, GO into the lake, especially at night. Just remember the rule about taunting the ghosts.

2008-03-05 [kay-chan]: She was gonna bring an offering for them, like booze or something, but yeah. XD At least... they can't drown her...?

2008-03-05 [Mai Lynn]: Let's just say that the rule is there for the campers' protection. I'd be wary of the lake if I were her.

2008-03-05 [kay-chan]: Yup. :3 I never said she was the most logical person, either. :P

2008-03-16 [Mai Lynn]: ;-; Nuuuu, don't tell me this died.

2008-03-16 [Ryo-Oni]: I hope not :'(

2008-03-16 [kay-chan]: Well, uh... I dun have really anything to do.

2008-03-16 [NOOOPE]: We could skip to an activity.

2008-03-17 [Mai Lynn]: To the bonfire? Home of nighttime and the possibility of ghost stories and the haunted lake and make-out time?

2008-03-17 [kay-chan]: Kk.

2008-03-17 [Mai Lynn]: We'll wait for Diedre's response 'n at 'fore I'll move the setting TO THE BONFIRE! *strikes a pose*

2008-03-23 [Mai Lynn]: XD What is wrong with Zist? He rocks! *wuvs*

2008-04-14 [kay-chan]: This is what Sade says, and I quote: "Dare him to take off an article of clothing every time someone says his name for the rest of the night."

She wants to get him nekkid. :3

2008-04-15 [Mai Lynn]: And boy howdy hey, is he HAWT when nekkid. *laughs*

2008-04-15 [Ryo-Oni]: That would be a little against his character to dare that. How about daring him to do something that no one else would do, but if they follow him up on it by proving that they, too, would do such an act, he has to streak around the camp?

2008-04-15 [kay-chan]: So daring Zist to streak if others would, too? Nah, Sade said what she said. XD You don't have to go with it. :D
