Lupus' poetry

Wildfire

The light and the terror.
The warmth and the destruction.
To some it is a comfort.
To others it is a nightmare.
In fire the earth began, and in fire she shall be destroyed.
We are that fire, and we spread as we were created.
Like Wildfire.
     ---------------------------------------
Marching forward marching back. Marching onward down the track.
Future before and past behind, never knowing what you'll find.
Marching forever toward the moon, Hoping it will all end soon.
Marching to a day of war. Marching on forever more.
Hoping for an end to strife. Marching to the end of life.
We march, we march with no delay, We march, we march to the end of day.
      --------------------------------------
A dragon flies in skies of blue.
In the sea she rules there too.
The depths of Hell cannot bind her.
The soldiers of Heaven cannot find her.
I know her as she knows me
for we are on of sky, land, and sea.
     ----------------------------------------
Day and Night.
Light and Shadow.
Good and Evil.
Earth and Sky.
All are opposite.
Yet not one person
Can truly say.
Where one ends,
And the other begins.
      --------------------------------------
Blood and Bone, Sand and Stone

Wash the spears in blood and bone.
Will we ever see our home?
Wash the spears for sand and stone.
We wash the spears for hearth and home.
Wash the spears we're on the run.
We run, we run, towards the sun.
They are there far far away.
We run, we pray, we hope they stay.
Our enemy awaits around the bend.
We fight, we fight for home and friend.
There they are in wait ahead.
We will fight till we, or they, or all are dead.
We washed the spears in blood and bone.
We won our war for sand and stone.
We won, we won we're headed home.
Blood and bone, sand and stone, hearth and home.
      --------------------------------------
Battles fire, warriors flame.
For what burns in my heart That is its name.
      --------------------------------------
Blood to bind us heart to heart, and soul to soul.
A bond no outsider can break.
Only we two who are so bound can break this bond.
      --------------------------------------
I live in two worlds. The dreaming, and the waking.
And the edges are beginning to blur.
      --------------------------------------
This life is short, but after is eternal.
      --------------------------------------
Darkness falls and I must go. The night calls and I must answer.
      --------------------------------------
Humans are weak, so easily marred.
Soft flesh, soft souls, Soft.

The Shadow Beast

The Shadow Beast is hunting now
His prey is quite illusive
He will chase it down from dusk till dawn
and through out the following day
the prey is swift but so is He, and it will tire soon
This is prey He must not loose
for there are cubs to feed
the falters for just a moment
but that is all He needs.
The kill is swift and clean He tilts His head and howls
the prey was noble and is honored thus
He returns to His den greeted by happy cubs and proud mate
this kill is very welcome for it is cold and hunting scarce
They eat their fill and lie to sleep
The Shadow Beast looks at His sleeping cubs and heaves a heavy sigh
He drifts away and lay down to sleep He will not need to hunt for a while yet.
As He sleeps His mate looks at Him
She does not see the Shadow Beast
She sees only the Wolf a strong swift hunter, fierce protector
Her mate and the sire of their cubs
She lies to sleep and sighs for tomorrow is another day.
      --------------------------------------
Chain the wolf and hear its cry
Or cut it loose and hope it will return
Lock it up or set it free
And pray it will return to me

Cage it and watch as it slowly dies
Or let it loose and hear the baying cries
Lock it up or set it free
And hope in its love it will return to me

My Wild Wolf
I must choose
To chain it close
Or let it loose
Will it be chains of iron
Or the bonds of love
That will keep my wolf with me.

With chains of iron it will surely die
But with the bonds of love it will have the choice
To flee
Or return to me

So lock it up or set it free

I set it free
And watched it flee
But then its love brought it back to me.

I can hear the wings, can you hear them?
Like the thrum of a gigantic heart, each beat a thunderclap.
I can see the beast, can you see her?
All shining scales, horns of silver, and wings of cloudy grey.
Her muscles ripple under scales harder than diamond, blood of fire
flows through her veins, it's heat only rivaled by her breath.
I can cense the mind beneath it all, can you cense her?
Ancient and wise she knows why she is here better than any of us could know.
I know her, do you?
She is the dragon old as myth and legend.
Her wings are in each breath of the wind.
Her heart is in beat of our own.
Her fires are the fires of our Mothers own heat.
Her body is each rolling hill, each mountain and valley.
Her blood is in the oceans, each river, lake and stream.
And her mind is part of all our dreams.

Stranger in the Mirror

Who is this stranger I see before me?
In this pane of glass who do I see?
My mind knows, but my heart says my eyes lie.
Who is this stranger I see before me?
If I passed her walking I would not think she looked like me.
Who is this stranger I see before me?
In this pane of glass who do I see?
Could this be me? My mind thinks true.
But my heart says my eyes lie.
      --------------------------------------
Dark Melodies that call to me
Something dark consumed by hate.

The night is dark and cold
But, oh, it calls to me so.

Dark visions that consume my sight
come upon me one dreary night.
