Fears
I looked death in the eye
And I spat in the face of disaster
I climbed tall mountains
And I stood at the edge of cliffs
I look around at the grand view
My breath is taken by it’s beauty
Paint could never hold such a scene
And my heat sores into the sky
Taking my rope into my hands
I set my mind on my task
To defeat a fear installed into me
When I was yet a child
My mind reels against me
And my muscles tighten
My brow gathers sweat
And anxiety fills me with dread
Memories, echoes of the past
Defeat my will
Forcing me to turn around
And find another way down.
