New World Awaiting: Jadyn's Story


"My headache is gone!"
That was my very first thought on that day; I never have understood why that has stood out as the marker for the date in my mind, instead of other, more directly affected points. I had been suffering from mind-numbing pain for at least a week. I couldn't think straight, I didn't want to be social, I just wanted to be free of the pain. I tried everything we had available in that day - medicine, chiropractic work, getting more sleep, changing my diet, among other things. Nothing worked.
Perhaps I need to give a bit more background; I should be assuming that whoever may read this has no recollection of my name or who I am - or who I was. My name is Jadyn Tzeki; before the world changed, I was Derek Jacobs. A moderately tall human male - five-foot-ten - with long, 'dirty' blond hair, blue eyes, and five digits on each hand and foot. Fingernails that kept collecting odd bits of grime. And - worst of all - no fur...

New Worlds Awaiting-- MythicFox's Story


"Really? You want to hear what I remember of the Change? Oh, I see, you're chronicling the stories of the elders. Sure, I'll help out. I'll just start from the beginning, I guess."

It all began when I woke up, to be honest with you. What I thought at the time was a human hand lashed out and smacked the button on my alarm clock, pushing it off the desk in the process. I sighed, rolled back over, and felt a spike of pain in my lower back that forced me to sit up.
I groggily climbed out of bed, taking a second to listen to the silence of the house. Glancing at the clock, I realized what time it was and dashed to the bathroom, fresh clothes in hand, to get ready for school. For some reason, I kept getting the feeling that I was still wearing clothes as I pulled off what I had worn the night before. I looked in the mirror, seeing it perfectly without my glasses somehow, and my first thought could only be properly expressed by my first two words...
"HOLY SH*T!"

New World Awaiting Trel'las Story


"Oh yes! It is a beautiful spring day, isn't it? The air's still cool and crisp, but feel that sunshine! So warm! And my honeysuckles are going to be filled with flowers this year!
What's that, kittens? Tell you a story? Well, I don't know...what sort of story do you want? Hmm? About the Change? Well, that was so long ago...what? You've asked your parents about it, but they couldn't tell you? Well, of course not, silly bunny...your parents are our children, and but for Vail, they weren't around when the Change happened. And Vail was much too young to remember anything about it. Maybe I will tell you about it, if you ask nicely.
Oh, thank you! That's sweet of you. Alright then, I shall tell you about the Change. And some of the others who experienced it are writing down their memories, so that we can always have a record of what happened.
We've shown you pictures of humans, and told you about them, so that if there are any left in the world, you should know them for who and what they are. But in the time before the Change, we were all of us human. Human, yet within each of us resided a spark of furriness, that made us who we are.
It was so long ago. Yet we all remember what happened so plainly. Such changes as we all went through do not fade readily from the mind. It all started at night..."
