Now.

“Now” – One of the time-stating words, like “Past” and “Present” is the only one we can actually feel and see. It is impossible to know exactly what a wound felt like yesterday, and what it will feel like tomorrow. This impossibility doesn’t limit itself to days, but to the smallest moments of life, going into the thousandths of a second. When someone asks you what you felt like the day before, you can never give an exact answer. “Crappy”, or “cheerful” are two of the gigantic list of expressions used to answer this question. Though the list has a lot of words, none of them are exact. They are all nothing more than estimates. Compare it to the weather forecast. You can get a good estimate from the current situation, but never more than an estimate.
In our world many theories have arisen about time-travel. People say that if you would be able to exceed the speed of light you would go back through time. I wonder where this theory came from. Light happens to be the fastest thing known to mankind, but whether it is the limit is yet to be proven. What is true, it that once you exceed the speed of light, you’ll become some sort of invisible to bystanders. Invisible in such a way that once bystanders can see that you are in a certain place, you have already left that certain place. There are more theories that question the existing of time-travel, but the one that made the most sense to me was the fact that time itself was once invented by mankind. Who is to say there even is such a thing as time the way we think it exists. We took the sequels of life, such as Earth spinning around the Sun, symbolizing Daylight, and the Moon spinning around Earth, symbolizing Night. One Day and one Night became one whole Day. Soon it was discovered that each of the 4 seasons had similar length, with a small variable of time. Technology kept improving, and thus we eventually got to years, ages and millennia. All this was invented by mankind. They are nothing more but sequels. Time itself is nothing more but a sequel of movements in space. For as far as we have found out, there might not even be a future or a past. For as far as mankind has developed, we have yet to discover any other time than “Present”. “Past” is nothing more than a way of recording events that have happened in older “Present’s”. Instead of researching if there even is a thing like time, we should think of the massive consequences time-travel could have. Is it really worth it, to go back in time, take a huge amount of risk out of the desire to some minor fixes? What if President Bush would have sent troops back in time, to kill Hussein before the war even started? That would surely have caused chaos in this world, since the countries of today do not know about time-travel. Troops from America, claiming the come from the future to kill Hussein to make sure he doesn’t kill a whole lot of people, wouldn’t stand a very good chance in a tribunal. They would be arrested in their own past. What would happen in the future? All these things are risks of time-travel. Time-travel’s uncertainty would bring along such major risks that using it to do good would a be a fool’s desire.
