Shyn vs Ke'rehl
Nickademus sat in the middle of the arena, red as a tomato under the merciless sun, he waited for the warriors while trying to fan some air into his armor.
Ke'rehl walked into the arena, and nodded his head to Nickademus. "My opponent will be here shortly, don't expect much of a fight. He is just a little guy." ,Ke'rehl said to him. He did not wish to wait long for the inferior creature.
Ke'rehl turned and left the arena, he went to find his opponent and drag him back here. He was tired of waiting for his fight. Ke'rehl left to
Lemirian Colosseum.
Meridian entered the arena. While the plight of Nickademus amused him, he kept his face expressionless as he waited for his comrade.
Soon after,
Oda appeared. He rolled his sleeves up in an almost ceremonial fashion before addressing Nickademus. "What are the new combat modes?" he threw a direct question to the referee. "...and are there any where we can fight a non-arena enemy?" Oda added, unsure if he could get any worthy opponents together in time.
Ke'rehl entered and sighed, "These sands should have Shyn's blood upon them." He turned to the ref and nodded his head to him. He stood there waiting to here Nickademus.
"Aye, everything you need to know is posted in the boards in the colosseum, don't be wasting my time if you don't know what type of fight you want." replied
Nickademus quite unhappy with being stuck in the heat.
"Stay here,"
Meridian told the other two, wanting to hurry things along. "I'll go check." He left the arena quickly. Returning after a short period of time, he approached the two fighters and referee. "There are several new combat types," he said. "Unless we want to dig up some opponents or fight amongst ourselves, I would recommend we make use of the Circus Maximus style, where we battle wild creatures."
Oda nodded to show that he agreed with what Meridian said. "I assume we get to pick the type of creature or something?" he asked Meridian, thinking that he would be more helpful than the agitated referee.
"You pick a level of difficulty or you can have one assigned to you, the type of creature depends on the level of difficulty you picked." replied
Nickademus seriously considering just removing his armor for the time being.
Ke'rehl followed the conversation for as long as he could. He wanted death and didn't care how.
"What sort of creature might be assigned to us," asked
Meridian to Nickademus.
"That's random and depends somewhat on the difficulty level." replied
Nickademus with a shrug.
Meridian drew his scimitar and epee, swinging both as he got himself warmed up. "Let's do get this started then."
Ke'rehl drew his weapon, and armed his shield. He swung his arms and loosened up.
Finally a chance for battle. was his only thought.
"You still have not told me if you want to pick the difficulty level yourselves or have one assigned." grumbled
Nickademus.
"I'd like you to assign us one," replied
Meridian to the referee. "However, is that acceptable, Oda?"
Oda nodded, confident he could handle himself.
"Then let us begin,"
Meridian said to Nickademus as he readied himself.
Nickademus nodded and promptly exited the stadium, the doors around the group were closed and the lights dimmed. The three warriors stood in the middle of the Arena as all noise ceased. Finally, the rustle of chains was heard and a single growl behind the three.
The warriors turned to find a trapdoor open and a large reptilian creature standing on its hind legs. Oda and Meridian were at a loss regarding the reptiles nature, but Ke'rehl immediately identified the Pitch Demon, a hunter beast of the depths of Skarrad.
Battle has started!
The turns and positions are as following!
Pitch Demon (H6)(*_*)
Oda (F6)
Meridian (H7)
Ke'rehl (I7)
Before any of the warriors could react, the Pitch demon darted across the sand, heading straight for Meridian, about 8 feet away from Meridian, the Demon leapt into the air, trying to bring Meridian down with its claws!
Unnerved by the creature,
Meridian turned quickly and using his Lightning Speed, moved to sidestep the monstrosity.
Even though the demon was extremely fast, Meridian was able to outspeed him by using lighting speed, moving out of the way of the attack right in time!
Oda's turn! -
Oda gave a pleasant grin, as the creature quickly darted across the floor to attack Meridian. “Impressive…” he said, glad for the challenge. Not really knowing what the thing was, and not really caring, Oda took a calm step forwards and used that to give momentum to his attack. With a lunge of his guisarme, he tried to impale the reptile on the end of it.
As Oda tried to stab the Pitch demon with his Guisarme, the reptile swiftly jumped in the air and landed in the shaft of the weapon, pushing the blade of the guisarme to the floor and almost forcing Oda to let go!
Meridian's turn! -
Meridian, deciding to make the most of his lightning speed, attacked, aiming a wicked slash with his scimitar at the creature's belly and trying to stab it in what he guessed was the solar plexus with his epee.
Meridian lunged forth with his epee and almost struck the pitch Demon, but with sudden upsurge of speed, the creature ducked and escaped the incoming epee! (Lightning speed)
Ke'rehl's turn! -
Ke'rehl smiled, and moved in for a strike. He brought his blade through the air, aiming for one of the shoulder joints of the beast. Hoping to alteast limit its mobility with his strike.
Ke'rehl's attack was flawless, unfortunately, the Pitch demon's speed was still accelerated from dodging the previous attack and Ke'rehl only managed to scratch its shoulder, dealing 1 damage.
Immediately afterwards, the pitch Demon turned towards his most recent attacker and tried to spit poison in Ke'rehl's face!
Ke'rehl brought his sword behind his back, and pointed the tip down. He brought his shield up over his face, and attempted to deflect the poison away.
The spit struck Ke'rehl's shield harmlessly, and though the acid fizzed a bit, it did not eat through the wood!
Oda's turn! -
Recoiling from his previous attack,
Oda took a few steps to the side, to F6. Hoping to catch the beast off guard, he shifted his grip on his spear then lunged at it again, jabbing the point down at it’s mid-section.
As Oda's guisarme pierced the Demon's thick skin and made a gash in its mid section, the creature shrieked and jumped away!
Meridian's turn! -
Meridian, frustated that the creature had somehow outmaneuvered him, again attacked, attempting to stab the demon in its stomach with both his blades.
The creature leapt up once more, esily avoiding Meridian´s swords once more!
Ke'rehl's turn! -
Ke'rehl charged the demon with a devilish laugh. He swung his blade downward, hoping to slash the back of the demon.
Ke'rehl almost hit the Pitch Demon, but once more, the beast outran him, eluding the blow!
Immediately afterwards, the Demon jumped on Ke'rehl, trying to gut him with his claws!
Ke'rehl braced himself with his kite shield as much as possible while the pitch demon tackled him, intent on keeping the shield between him and the pitch demon.
Ke'rehl withstood the attack, pushing the demon back with his shield!
Oda's turn! -
Quite impressed by the new recruit's resilience towards the lizard,
Oda knew he couldn't withstand the onslaught forever. Levelling his spear at the pitch demon, the Xiadomian charged in another attempt to impale or draw the creature's attacks.
Oda lifted his guisarme and charged forward, managing to stick the tip of the stear into the demon's side and break one or two ribs, though it did not seem like he damaged any internal organs, the weapon did deal 10 points of damage!
Meridian's turn! -
Though cheered by Oda's successful thrust against the creature,
Meridian tired of its evasion of his attacks. Drawing on his energy, he tried to slow it down by cursing its dexterity. (curse)
The Pitch demon's dexterity is now 8/10!
Ke'rehl's turn! -
With the pitch demon slowed,
Ke'rehl seized the chance to strike with his allies successes and hoped to be a third. With his damascus, Ke'rehl swiped at the Pitch Demon.
Ke'rehl's slash was extremely effective, as the Pitch Demon, with its now reduced speed, failed to evade it. The Death Knight cut through the leathery skin on the side of the stomach, dealing 10 damage!
Immediately afterwards, the Pitch Demon turned against the Doomsday Knight, attemping to bite off his sword arm! -
Ke'rehl raised his kite shield as quickly as he could manage, hoping the demon was slowed enough that he could raise a proper defense.
As the Demon tried to bite him, Ke'rehl bashed its head to the side with his shield, effectively protecting himself!
Oda´s turn! -
Oda raised his guisarme into a vertical position, shifting his hands to an appropriate grip before stepping to the side and then forwards to attack. Hoping to catch it off guard, the Xiadomian tried to bring the barbed head and hooked blade of the spear down onto the reptile’s neck in an unorthodox attack.
Even though Oda's idea was good, he found the maneuver a lot harder to perform than expected, which caused the head of the guisarme to strike the demon's back instead of neck, dealing 14 damage!
Ke'rehl's turn! -
"Bwahaha!"
Ke'rehl shouted in laughter and struck at the Pitch Demon's side again with his damascus while Oda struck from above. Though he'd done little else this battle, the tactic had given him luck before and Ke'rehl was not about to try something different until it failed.
This time, Ke'rehl's lunge sunk deeper into the pitch demon, rupturing some of its internal organs and dealing 11 damage. Shrieking from the pain, the Pitch Demon turned to Ke'rehl and tried to air strike him, jumping up before slashing down with its talons!
Lifting his shield,
Kerehl hoped to block the attack as much as possible. Knowing the end of the battle was near for the pitch demon, he braced for the impact and hoped an ally would finish it quickly.
Ke'rehl was pushed to the ground under the weight of the powerful reptile, however, he managed to avoid taking any damage from the demon's sharp talon's!
Oda's turn! -
Seeing the beast was nearly finished,
Oda took a calm and merciless step forwards, closer towards the back of the lizard. Thrusting up with his spear, he shifted his grip on the guisarme before attempting to jab downwards into the creature’s spine, seemingly apathetic to whether the spearhead could run through the beast and harm Ke’rehl.
Oda's overcomplicated maneuver would've failed if not for a stroke of luck, as he jabbed forward, the spear escaped his right hand causing it to fall heavily on the Pitch Demon's neck, breaking it and killing the beast!
Battle has ended!
everyone receives 666 XP!
Oda has leveled up! Oda attained Warrior Status!
Ke'rehl has leveled up!
Meridian has leveled up! Meridian attained Warrior Status!
Acting like he had meant to break the creature’s neck,
Oda stood in a grim silence for a few minutes while he used his sleeve to wipe the blood from his spear. When he was satisfied with that he faced Meridian and Kerehl to ask “What now?”.
"Another round," suggested
Meridian. "Or perhaps we should go see what Donovan is up to." He surveyed the fallen creature as he waited for the others to reply.
“Perhaps…”
Oda mused aloud, “They could be waiting, but if we choose another round we should go with an easy kill similar to this.” He suggested, hoping they could get some practise in but at the same time wanted to get back to Donovan and Razorfang and do something a little more challenging. “I suppose when we do find Donovan, we will be putting our training to more use?” Oda asked, a little unsure what future plans the Caerhamian or Dah’kin had, “Such as completing one of those jobs posted on the bulletin board?”
"Well,"
Meridian looked up at the glaring sun of his home, recalling the Dah'kin's dislike of any light from the Asfeltas Caves. "He's unlikely to look for us here. We should go check with him and see what needs to be done at this point."
“Where will he be?.”
Oda asked directly, not pointing out the obvious that finding him could be quite difficult. With the way his alley was speaking, he realized Meridian had more information on the subject and was quite happy to follow the Caerhamian’s decisions for the moment. “You know him better than I…” Oda shifted, a little uncomfortable from standing still when they could be doing something more.
"Let's check the arenas,"
Meridian said. "He's most likely practicing his skills there."
Oda gave a nod in response then walked out of the arena to the coloseum, hoping his next battle would provide more of a challenge than the lizard creature.
Meridian followed suit, giving a glance to Ke'rehl, before leaving.
Ke'rehl wiped the blodd off his sword, and sheated it. He watched the others leave, and pondered where he shoudl travel next. Ke'rehl remembered that it has been sometime since Donovan and him had traded insults, he went to seek his brethren out.
