Ode To A Lucky Cat
1
Thou frozen form of lithe feline
Captured in this painted stone
Perfect snapshot, piece of time
Paw raised up for me alone
What spots are these that grace thy pelt?
What unmoving, silent grace?
What luck is this thou givest out?
What eyes that peer out from thy face?
What stirring of emotions felt?
What pose is this like little scout?
2
Three perfect spots of black are seen
Golden bell on string of red
Snow-white coat forever gleams
Yellow eyes gaze out from head
Memory of friendships deep
Counselor of my mind and heart
Stir up fire from the coals
Friends are here when we’re apart
Memories kept fresh and sweet
Stir such joy inside my soul
