Oxi Clean Spray-A-Way Instant Stain Remover review

Back when I was a cocktail waitress, I was forever staining up my clothes, especially the white shirts we bar servers were required to wear. Walking a large tray full of Bloody Marys and Merlots through a gauntlet of businessmen and bikers is no small task in and of itself, but attempting to do so while wearing a clean, white shirt is simply trouble in the making. However, the head bartender at the time had plenty of experience in dealing with such matters, and after the very first time I had a full glass of Merlot sloshed onto my chest, she gifted me my own tiny bottle of Oxi Clean Spray-A-Way Instant Stain Remover. That small bottle turned out to be quite the lifesaver on long Friday and Saturday nights when there was never a chance to run home to change out of a stained-up shirt.

Oxi Clean Spray-A-Way Instant Stain Remover comes in a petite, plastic, fourteen milliliter bottle. This bottle is roughly three inches tall, the perfect size to slip into one’s purse, pocket, etcetera without it being at all noticeable. The label on the bottle holds very little information, including the lack of any sort of ingredient list, but the bottle does state that the product within does not contain phosphates or chlorine, but that it does contain hydrogen peroxide.

The product may not be removed from the bottle except for when one is spraying it out, and when this happens, a clear, watery fluid bursts from the bottle. This fluid smells heavily of detergent, very clean and moderately flowery. While I mostly have used this product on white clothing that is generally safe to bleach, I have also used it on colored clothing, and have found that the product does NOT stain.

Using the product is incredibly simple, all one need do is to wipe away any excess of whatever has been spilled upon them that is staining, then they are to spray the product directly onto the stain. After allowing the product to set on the stain for a moment or two, one may then begin to blot the product away in order to remove the stain. One should repeat the process as necessary, but for me, there was never a time where the full process was needed more than twice in a row in order to remove even the toughest of stains.

I have found this to be an exceptional product that I always carry with me in my purse. Even when I am not wearing a white blouse, I know that accidents happen, and being prepared has never been a bad thing. This product has come in handy at the most unexpected of moments and as a result, I definitely recommend this product to those whose appearance and general tidiness is required or else expected.
