Happy 2nd Birthday to my baby Playgans!
Lots of love, Dela-mommy x x x
Thank you to all the members who show a continual interest in my writing, you have no idea how much it means to me, that two years on, Playgans is still going as strong as ever.
Love you all.
Dela x
Frankly I'm as surprised as you are.
It has now been over two years since
Playgans was launched in a fit of insanity. It has to be said I never thought it would go this far, two years on with a new member every week it seems. We've hit the 90 mark; the 100th member gets a fucking great big glomping from me. There are mini communities springing up on the web, someone even got married because of it. And now I am attempting to buy the domain name for Playgans.com. We already appear in the top ten-google searches, even after I stopped exporting the pages due to thievery. If I am not mistaken we are actually number 4.
Not only is
Playgans attempting to go independent, it is also attempting to form itself into a book via the medium that is myself. I'm really just about to make sure the English is readable, don't kid yourselves,
Playgans wrote itself. It's a bit like being possessed by a manical demon with nazi spelling tendencies and a need to educate.
That said on the book front. Some of you may have noticed the new poll on the main page about the possibility of a t-shirt. The poll has only been up for 5ish hours and already we have quite a few emphatic answers over it.
So I was thinking, why not show you what I had in mind.
These were made via CafePress.com. It looks rather snazzy too. There's only one problem with that though. CafePress is fucking expensive for me to make, and therefore would be even more expensive for you to buy. If I was doing this purely to sell out and go in to merchandising, this wouldn't bother me.
But I'm not selling out. If the t-shirts were to go ahead, I would be doing it to raise money for the maintaing of a website and buying the rites to
Playgans and the (c)
The money would be purely going in to my efforts to make
Playgans into the best that it can be. I'm putting a lot of time and money into it myself, but I'm afraid I'm going to need help.
But I refuse to be charging you all £20/$25 for a shirt.
Therefore I am thinking, I can get some good quality t-shirts for a relatively low price, it would just be a case of myself printing the "logos" on and finding a way to ship them about.
I'm afraid if you didn't live in the UK it would cost you more, as I wouldn't be able to afford post and packaging overseas. However I've got some good friends that run in the webcomic circles. I'm seeing who their suppliers are and whether or not I'd be able to get it on it as well.
I'd also be making them to raise money for my *other* major wiki project, the funds of which would be going purely in to a reputable charity.
What can I say, I've gone soft and started trying to do things for other people.
Its food for thought I think you will agree.
But here, while you mull it over, have a new banner:
