Harry Potter is obviously one of the key figures to any “Harry Potter” action figure collector’s set. Whether for display or play purposes, no “Harry Potter” series collection is complete without a sculpt of the star of the series. Unfortunately, the Neca Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix Series 1 Harry Potter 3 ¾” Figure does not stand up well when placed next to any of the seven-inch-tal
l figures from Neca in this series.
The Neca Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix Series 1 Harry Potter Figure is near-perfect in every way sans its size, as it wonderfully resembles Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter. For being so very small, the sculpt looks surprisingly life-like and the details are really quite incredible as far as depth and texture go. However, the paint-job on the figure isn’t nearly as grand as it is on the seven-inch figure, probably because of the decreased size on this figure. However, the fact that the sculpt is of Harry Potter cannot be denied.
The Neca Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix Series 1 Harry Potter Figure is featured wearing his Hogwarts attire, mainly dressed in black with long flowing robes and the Gryffindor colors peeking out from under the black of his shirt. His clothes are all realistically wrinkled in places, creased in some others, which gives them undeniable depth.
As far as articulation goes, the 3 ¾” Neca Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix Series 1 Harry Potter Figure isn’t anywhere as good as that of the seven-inch sculpt of the same figure. Points of articulation include those of the shoulders, the neck, and the waist, which really limits the pose-ability of this particular figure.
Accessories for the Neca Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix Series 1 Harry Potter Figure include his wand, which is standard for the characters in this series, and a base for display purposes, which is pretty unexceptional as it is simply a black stand. The wand fits neatly into Harry Potter’s hand, which is nice, as some of the figures in this line don’t actually have the ability to hold the accessories with which they come.
While I do adore the Neca figures for the “Harry Potter” series, I cannot recommend this one in this size. Instead, I suggest that fans and collectors of the “Harry Potter” series go in search of a six- or seven-inch figure that will undoubtedly be painted more accurately, have more points of articulation, and will fit in better with the rest of the full-sized figures from this series.
