Find Me

A rose that's blue in color;
A pencil, paintbrush, crayon;
And a myth of every kind.
A notebook with a story,
handwritten all in pen
that stops right in the middle
With, "You say what happens then."
A T-shirt with a butterfly
And jeans but not a skirt.
A note that says "I love you,
and hope to see you soon."
A teddy bear, a flashlight,
A handkerchief of black,
A medicinal bottle
Full almost to the brink.
An MP3 with Disney's
"Someday My Prince Will Come",
A radio on repeat
Playing, "Once In Every Lifetime".
All of this wrapped up
In a knapsack made of silk
With a pattern made of seashells
And a coat that's like a cloak.
The knapsack sits up in a tree,
A birch, its leaves all gone,
And waits for you to find it there,
To bring it all back home.
