Strawberry Sweetie Tart

Ingredients

100g Butter (Or margarine, but I find butter works best.)

200g Doves Plain Flour.

Add 5-10 tbsp's of water. (I usually don't measure, and just add gradually until I get best results.)

Some fresh strawberries, sliced.
Gluten and wheat free soya custard (or any other G F/W F custard)



The key is then to mix well, and flour a little.

Once the mixture is mixed, roll into a ball and lightly flour a clean surface and place your ball onto the surface.

Next, roll out a decent size circle, making sure it is not too thin! You want to be able to roll your roller under the pastry and transfer it to a cooking tray, or a mini ramekin if an individual portion is needed.

Make sure to lightly grease your tray or ramekin.

Preheat the oven to around 150 DC-200 DC (Appliances vary so you must have to keep checking, and turn it down if it looks like it is getting caught.)

Now place your pasty tart into the oven, for around 15 minutes and keep checking!

Once the pastry has cooled right down and placed onto a heatproof surface, you can now pour in some custard, carefully removing the pastry from your tray and sliding onto a clean plate.

Then, take some of your previously sliced strawberries, and place some onto the top of your custard.

You can also use this recipe, adding a layer of jelly. Pretty straightforward, all you would do is follow the instructions on the pack, and add the jelly first, then custard, followed by the strawberries.

Then, place the tart-let into the fridge to cool. This is why it is vital that it cools right down before you add the custard, so it does not melt, and also hot to cold does not give you a potential tummy upset!
