General Appearance: Although Syd's lead a not-so-easy life, it doesn't show on his face, which the ladies are awfully fond of. He has Reddish-brown hair that's slightly curly, and he wears it long, about down to his shoulders and its almost always back behind his head in a ponytail. Although there are always a few stray strands that like to settle around his face. When he's been out "pirating" for a while he tends to grow some stubble, with which he seems to have a love/hate relationship, so it's never always shaven or always stubble-y. On his right ear he has his cartilage pierced twice, close together, and wears two small silver hoops. On his left ear's cartilage he has one piercing worn in the same manner. His eyes are bright green and seem to glow in the dark like a cat's. He has a quirky smirk of a smile and several tattoos, although most are on his upper arms and back, son they're hardly seen. His right wrist and a little of his hand have burn scars (among many other scars across his body), but this tale he refuses to tell. He stands tall and thin, but he is by no means weak. Years of working on a vessel have made his body strong and able.
He wears a simple maroon colored tunic for a shirt that's loose around his body, and a black leather vest. he has simple black pants and black leather boots. (He loves his boots. He prides himself on them because they were made for a king, or something of that sort) and he happened to whisk them away and they fit just right. He also has a worn black hat, and although it's obvious it wasn't originally his, he refuses to say what it's origins exactly are.
Personality: Rather quiet, Syd likes to take in a situation before making a move, while he's on land. When he's on his vessel, however, he's very spontaneous and tends to make rash decisions. It's something about the feeling of freedom (or so he says). He's quite the ladies' man, but he refuses to mix business and pleasure. He's also a devote "hater" of the gods and all they stand for.
History: Syd likes to keep his past a secret, although there are a few known facts about him. He didn't start off poor in his life, and has a vast some of money hidden away somewhere, though he won't say and doesn't spend his money lavishly. He's spent most of his life wandering, and says that the "great unknown" is his home. It is apparent he's had some education, however, because he is far from stupid and has a wealth of knowledge, though he isn't one to share. He also knows how to play the guitar and has a nice singing voice (a tool to win a lady's heart, he says).
The most tragic moment of his life occurred when the monsters attacked a small town that he happened to be staying in. A mother and small girl where inside their home when a fire broke out, and Syd stood, paralyzed, as the mother reached out her hand and screamed for someone to save her babies life. Syd was close enough to reach and touch the woman's hand when the house collapsed, consuming mother and child alike. This escapade left him with his scarred right hand and wrist, and, none-the-less, a scarred heart. The eyes of the little girl and the wails of the mother haunt him to this day.
Worshiped God/Goddess: In an ironic way Syd has the most respect for Rikdehk, although in general Syd hates the gods and refuses to out-right worship them.
Other: Syd carries a tattered letter with him everywhere, and you should consider yourself an anomaly if you ever lay eyes on it.
