Night Watch – Terrific movie, great take on the ever popular good vs. evil theme, and it is the first movie I have seen that does creative things with the subtitles

Brokeback Mountain – An excellent love story that stands apart because of the eloquently simple dialogue. It was adapted from a short story and very little was changed in the transition to screenplay.

Ultraviolet – There were only two good things about this movie – Milla Jovovich and her abs. It was one long fight scene with an exceptionally weak plot.

Batman Begins – Christian Bale does Batman excellently, and I feel this version really captures the true feeling of the comic books – dark, moody, and truly creepy, non-cartoony villains.

Pride & Prejudice – The story is so good I think it’s impossible to make a bad movie of it, and Keira Knightly was quite excellent…but I still like the A&E version better.
