Fruits Basket.

Okay, so most people watch an anime because the main character looks 'cute' or because one of their favourite voice actors is in it. I watched 'Fruits Basket' for a completely different reason. To put it simple, I adore animals, and 'Fruits Basket' is just full of them. So for any of you animal lovers out there, 'Fruits Basket' should suit you perfectly.
The plot focuses on one character, a teenage girl named Tohru Honda. She comes across the Sohma family, who are inflicted with the curse of the Zodiac. If any of them are hugged by the opposite gender, or if they are under a great deal of stress, they change their appearance to one of the twelve animals of the Zodiac. I'm sure you all know what they are, but if not, here's a reminder: Dog, Pig, Rooster, Dragon, Ox, Sheep, Horse, Rabbit, Snake, Monkey, Rat, and the Tiger.
One of the main qualities 'Fruits Basket' has is its characters, and how each one is completely different. They each act like their Zodiac animal, and so plenty of research has gone into creating them. It definitely wasn't a walk in the park job! Many anime watchers take what they are watching for granted in my opinion, and they don't respect how much work has gone into making, say, just one scene in an episode. You can tell from watching this anime how much work has gone into it because there are so many different ingredients within it. The artwork, humour, action, and of course, the emotion within certain areas.
Also, the music is something to look out for and take in because it is beautiful, along with the background art, when you look beyond the characters in some scenes.
'Fruits Basket' is certainly a must see for all anime watchers who haven't viewed it already. It is for all ages, and there is no reason why no one should give it a miss.
An English dub is available, and it is a very successful one. Not many people have complained about it since the voice actors did such a good job. For any of you who are familiar with voice actors like myself, the English dub voice actors include: Laura Bailey, Eric Vale and Jerry Jewell. It is a 26 episode anime, and has the comedy, romance, drama and fantasy genres.
