Issue 19 Poetry Corner!

[Mordigen]
"mechanism"

round and round the calendar goes,
ticking by the time of woes
watching in wonder, waiting the chime
spreading the word, and telling the time
trickling down the fountain's path
a whirl and twirl of it's own math
the heavens move, it stands to tell
a new day rises to it's tolling bell
long past now the winter has moved
they watched in awe and then it proved
it smoothly moving, pay it no mind
it'll tell you evermore with a wind
but soon you'll see it needs no more
it lives on untouched as if from lore
metal spools spinning fast
slowly turning the days past
how, how? the whisper spreads
a magic unknown they cannot dread
a magic unknown, but not indeed
mechanics touch, and scholars breed
clockwork anew, it marks the day
working so simple, yet in a genius way
it marks the day, indeed, a day of days
workings so simple that paves the ways
of lives to come, that change everymore
birth to new techs the worlds shall adore

Gears numb whistling
Wrench clanks against metal
Steam engine trouble.

[Chimes]
"One in the same"

Tick
Tock
Tick
Tock

Gears grind,
Steam shoots
From the hole in the corner.
Metal chugs,
Coughs
And moves in time
To the ticking clocks upon the wall.

Spectacles are rubbed,
Shined and polished.
Machine.
Man.
One in the same.
The creator and his masterpiece.
