Reinhard saw Emmet, a referee, returning and placing a sign near the arena entrance not much later.

Anya entered the arena, looking for a challenge. Reading the sign, she thought, Perhaps I should find some challengers to try this. Turning, she hastily made her way back to the Lemirian Colosseum.

Walking back into the arena, Anya greeted the referee. "Hello there-" -reading the name off the sign-"Emmet!" She approached the man with a warm smile. "I've been trying to find fighters interested in the promoted combat system, but I wasn't able to find anyone. Perhaps I will just have to stay with the usual..."

Arryk walked in briskly with his head lowered. Noticing the hauken already there, he paused, considering what to do.

"There's one." Emmet said, and pointed at Arryk.

Finding it too late to shrug off the offer, Arryk decided to go along with it. He shifted his gaze from the hauken to Emmet. "I guess I could... hold a match... if she manages to gather more participants."

Smiling, Anya waved him in.

Arryk strode in and had a seat on a pile of rocks.

After waiting a while, Anya sighed and headed back for the Lemirian Colosseum, calling back, "I'll try recruiting again."

Anya returned not long afterwards, and approached the dah'kin with a smile. "I could not recruit any fighters, however I found something else we could possibly do - that is, if you are not busy..."

Without returning the smile, Arryk responded coolly, "I'm listening."

"A quest to investigate disturbaces in the mountains..." Anya explained simply. She kept her good cheer despite Arryk's foul manner.

Slightly intrgued, Arryk questioned further, "What would the reward be?"

"I am unsure... He did not mention." Anya said after a moment's thought. "I could go ask if you would like."

"No, I will go ask him myself." Arryk waited for the hauken to lead.

"Farewell, Emmet. I hope I get a chance to complete the challenge sometime..." Anya said to the referee, then exited into the Lemerian Colosseum.

Arryk followed Anya out to the Lemerian Colosseum, only pausing to nod to the referee in goodbye.

Tairoth entered the arena, took in the bleak, torn surroundings. Fired by the sight, he sought out the referee. "Good day. I wish to fight a hard-level creature in Circus Maximus. Something native to these settings, if possible," he said, indicating the landscape around them.

"Something native to Skarrad? Hmm... I appreciate your enthusiasm, rookie, but most native things in Skarrad are not something you should take on by yourself, or at least not until you train a bit more." Emmet replied. Then he stood awhile in thought. "Alright, I think I got it. If there are no living critters which are a fair match for you, we'll jsuth ave to use dead critters. You got any problems with that?"

After a moment of actual thinking Tairoth was forced to agree. No one knew of anything not extremely lethal having come out Skarrad for a long time. Still... Undead. The thought sat ill at ease with Tairoth, but not that much because of the context. He nodded consent to the referee. "I take no issue."

"Alright hten, here we go." Emmet said while lifting up some rock and chasing something from underneath it. "Mind you, Skarrad is such a horrid place, Undead might as well be native to it. It fits the surroundings anyway. Have fun."

Battle has begun!

Turns and positions are as follows:
Tairoth (D22) HP: 6/10 MP: 3/12
Ghost Viper (E21) HP: *__*

Tairoth's turn

Again not knowing how fast he might expect his enemy to move, Tairoth first fired a Frost Beam at the apparition and then retreated to D22.

Tairoth shot a frost beam at the ghostly snake, and dealt it 5 damage as he hit it right between its undead eyes. Meanwhile, the ghost viper slided towards Tairoth rather fast, and lashed out with its head at Tairoth's chest.

Tairoth attempted to bat the attack aside with his staff. Since retreating wouldn't do any good, he'd stand his ground and carry on with his beams, should he survive.

Tairoth's eyes opened wide with surprise as he saw his staff pass right through the incorporeal snake. Not hindered at all, the snake snapped at Tairoth's chest almost casually, and the Panther felt like a chunk of ice was passing right through his chest, recieving 4 cold damage.

Tairoth's turn

Knowing his staff for useless now, Tairoth cast two carefully aimed Beams at the snake, knowing he had to make them count.

Tairoth fired two Frost Beams at the snake. One missed, but the other hit the snake right on target, and dealt 5 damage, destroying it!

Battle has ended!
Tairoth recieves 525 XP
Tairoth levelled up!

"Congratulations, sir Panther." Emmet said to Tairoth. And, with an air of humour: "You have defeated a dead snake."

"Thank you, sir," Tairoth replied with deep relief. After a moment, he added, "Yes, and you might find humor in the ones I lost to. For now, good day." With a bow, he turned and left for the Colosseum hall.
