The Last Hope for the Galaxy part II review

The hardcover collection of Luke Skywalker's adventures in comic form has put together the best stories of the hero of the rebellion in the Star Wars saga.
This second part includes the comics My Brother, My Enemy, Riders in the Void and Splinter of the Mind's Eye. The first story takes place approximately nine months after the battle of Yavin and moves forward from there.

My Brother, My Enemy (2007) tells about a childhood friend of Luke who has joined the empire and battles now with his loyalties between a friend and the empire. I really liked the illustrations even though they didn't completely catch the essence of Luke or Leia.

Riders in the Void (1980) is a short comic of the space travel where Luke and Leia encounter a mystical being the end of their galaxy. This comic has been published in the Marvel comics series and the style of illustration is very typical for the time. The fun part of reading these old comics is the sexual tension between Luke and Leia - when the writers didn't know yet that they were siblings.

Splinter of the Mind's Eye (1995) is based on a novel by Alan Dean Foster. In this tale, Luke and Leia get stuck in a planet full of imperials and end up on a quest for finding a weird crystal, which enhances the force abilities.
This illustration style is also quite classical, but it doesn't seem as old as the former comic style. And Vader's massive character takes all the attention from the quite boring Luke.

This collection is a must-have for Star Wars fans - even for the ones, who always preferred Han Solo for Luke Skywalker. These comics are an addition to the massive Star Wars universe and you can't know too much about it, can you?
