The Sims 3 review

In the Sims 3, similar to the first two games and their expansion packs, you control a Sim (or multiple Sims). They have life goals, aspirations, dreams, and wishes. It's your job to either fulfill them, or to make the Sim's life miserable.

There are some new features to this game, however. For instance, your Sim now has "traits": they can be artistic, grumpy, and several other things. This will either aid or hold back your Sim in life (example: if they are a hard worker they get better job performance, but if they are clumsy, then they are accident prone).

You can also access the town at any time, and you can go fishing in lakes, ponds, or the ocean. Also in town you can take classes for skills (gardening, guitar, cooking, etc).

Overall, I like this Sims the best. You can place furniture diagonally (which always bothered me before that you couldn't), and your Sims seem more complex and have a lot more to do.

I don't, however, think it's worth the $60. That's a bit too much for me. But it does offer hours of mindless enjoyment, on the plus side. (:
