The Luck of the Irish History
Sarah walked up onto the deck and walked straight to the Captain's quarters, not saying a word as she shut the door behind her.
"Sarah?" Adrien called walking through the deck and over to her quarters.
Sarah was halfway to her desk. "Yes Adrien?"
"Why were you so nervous in there...what stopped you from staying with Jack?" he asked opening the door and leaning on the door frame.
Sarah sighed. "I don't really know anymore myself..."
Adrien smiled, "You were too nervous...were
n't you..."
Sarah shrugged. "Maybe. Now, I need to discuss with you what we're going to do when we leave Tortuga... maybe do some treasure hunting, raiding, ect.?" she said, sitting at her table with the world map tacked and nailed to its wide and long surface.
"We will have to slip out unnoticed...I did some scouting..and the navy has ships posted in this area...one or two we shouldn't have a problem with...but there are atleast five in the cove alone..." Adrien muttered.
"Alright, how do you plan to do that?" Sarah asked, looking at a map of Tortuga, with drawn in ways from places Sarah had found they could get through.
"With there grid schedule..." Adrien said smiling, "I stole one from one of there captians that was here for some odd reason...and dispatched him..." he muttered dropping the paper on her desk
Sarah picked it up and looked at it. "Tight schedule..."
"There is a twenty minute gap just before sunrise...north northeast..." Adrien said smiling, "That shouldn't be a problem for me to navigate through..."
"SARAH!" Jack yelled from the side of the ship along the dock. "SARAH I NEED TO TALK TO YOU!" He yelled to her.
"Do you want me to deal with him?" Adrien asked smiling.
Sarah sighed. "No I will." she walked out and walked over to the rail. "Yeees Jack...?"
"Sarah! we don't have time for this...we have twenty minutes before we have to leave to catch the window!" Adrien whispered loudly.
Jack smiled when he saw Sarah. "I need to talk to you!" He started climbing up the side of the ship.
Sarah blinked. "About what...?"
"Sarah!!" Adrien called again glaring at Jack, "We don't have time for this!!"
Jack jumped onto the deck and ignored Adrien. "This!" He said grabbing Sarah's waist and pulling her close. He instantly kissed her lips.
Sarah's eyes widened and her body went frigid with shock.
Jack back away alittle and looked into her eyes. "Im-im sorry." Jack let go of her hips after realizing what he just did.
Adrien almost fell over with laughter, "Old man...that was the last nail in your coffin...you probably scared her away even though she liked you.." he shouted rolling on the ground.
Sarah was blushing brightly. "Uh... um..." she wanted to say somethingother little mutterings, but her tongue was tied.
Adrien stook regaining his composer before quickly draging Sarah back to her quarters and closing the door behind, "ok..now...just say something and send him on his way....you can come back later or when we see him again...but we don't have time for you to freeze up!"
Sarah shook her head and just realised Adrien was even there. "Huh? Wha?"
Jack sighed and jumped off the ship onto the dock with a loud thud as his boots hit the ground. He looked up at the ship one last time and walked off.
"Jack kissed you and you froze..." Adrien said bluntly.
Sarah blushed madly. "Yeah? And? What of it?"
"An old man kissed you and you froze up like a little school girl..." Adrien said again laughing slightly.
Sarah growled and turned her back to him. "Go get the new crewmates and get them on the ship with the supplies. We're leaving in about 15 minutes, so I'd hurry if I were you."
"Awww your grumpy now..." Adrien teased walking over to the door still chuckling slightly.
Sarah nodded and sighed, walking over to the maps. She took out her quill and circled a ship that she was planning to find and raid. The Interceptor.
"You know I don't give a damn if you like Jack or not...just be happy for once..." Adrien muttered walking out of her quarters and jumping over the railings to the dock below, "Prepare to cast off...we leave in fifteen minutes.." he muttered walking to the docks and back to the tavern.
Celeste took Angelo's hand and ran to the docks and onto the ship.
Celeste went to the cabin and looked in. "Are we late?"
Sarah smirked. "Your on the ship, aren't you?"
Celeste glared and left, walking over to the railing.
Angelo poked his head in. "What was that all about?"
Sarah chuckled. "Oh nothing."
Angelo shrugged and walked over to Celeste.
"Already here I see.." Adrien muttered walking back into Sarah's study, "they ran right past me...I just made a pitstop on my way.." he muttered laying his hand on the hilt of his rapier smiling.
Celeste walked back in, "Oh, and just because I'm part of your crew doesn't mean I'm going to put up with any bull from you, Captain or not..."
Angelo walked in after her, shaking his head, "She doesn't mean it, she's just losing her temper..."
Saarah twitched. "Well too bad love. Your going to have to deal with it. After all, I am your captain."
"But luckily for you...I will be the one riding your asses...and not the captain..." Adrien said smiling pulling out his blade, "like it Sarah...I finally got a new one.."
Sarah looked at it and smiled. "Its very nice Adrien."
"Yeah um by the way...I owe you umm...lets just say alot..bye!" Adrien said smiling disappearing quickly through the door.
Sarah sighed. "I'll keep you to it." shee said, walking up to the helm and taking out her map, studying it silently.
Adrien laughed slightly as he quickly scuddled his way over to the helm, "Sarah are you ready?" he yelled up to her cabin.
Sarah blinked. "Why are you yelling down there when I'm over here. And is everyone even here yet...? We still have approximatly 10 minutes."
"Basically and from my calculations...we have about seven minutes to leave to make the window on time..." Adrien said smiling, "the last person is boarding now..."
Sarah nodded and walked over to the wheel. "Alright then. Lift the anchor."
Adrien looked over making sure they did as Sarah asked before climbing up to the crows nest with the map and schedule in hand that he stole from Sarah moments before, "I'm ready now..."
Sarah had memorised the map and started to steer the ship swiftly through the opening.
"Sarah...slight change...take a fourty degree turn to the north...as 15 knots..." Adrien called looking up through the telescope and back down at the map.
Sarah nodded and turned the ship 40 degres to the north.
"This is gonna be tight...and they will see us...they adjusted the schedule and closed the gap by ten minutes approximately...nothing you can't get through though..." Adrien muttered watching the ships closing in on them carefully, "15 degrees to the west.."
Sarah turned the wheel and sighed. "Great... it would'v been better to have taken a back road."
Celeste'e eyes widened at the sight of the navy ship and she ducked behind the railing until they passed.
Angelo chuckled, amused by Celeste's action, although curious as to why she always did that when a navy ship passed them.
"From here on we should be able to get through without a problem.." Adrien shouted, "but have Angelo go to artillary until we pass through the line.."
Angelo heard what Adrien said and walked away from Celeste and went to the artillary.
Celeste sat against the railing, closing her eyes.
Adrien nodded slightly before turning back out facing the sea.
Sarah sighed.
Adrien looked out again quickly before sliding down the mast to the deck and walking over to Sarah, "What's wrong?" he whispered in her ear.
Sarah leaned on the wheel. "Oh nothing... but do me a favor and keep an eye out for the Interceptor."
"Ok...I should know this...pirate or navy ship?" Adrien asked blushing slightly.
"Navy." Sarah smirked.
"I'm gonna get to try out my new blade aren't I...." Adrien muttered smiling darkly and licking his lips.
Sarah nodded. "Everyones getting rusty with their skills, so we need a bit of a challenge."
"Who's there captain?" Adrien asked smiling, "They would be the only one worth my time...unless you want to take them on..."
"Well, we could fight another pirate crew, but why bother when we can fight our enemy, the Navy, ne?" Sarah chuckled.
"The only other one that would be worth our time is Captain Jack and his crew...but I'd say wipe the others out when we have a chance...luckily...the Interceptor is apart of this blocade...they should becoming up in about thirty seconds..to the east.." Adrien muttered handing her his telescope.
Sarah looked through the telescope. "Ah yes. Perfect."
"I'm going to load my pistol..." Adrien said smiling walking below deck to the armory.
Sarah took out her long sword and started sharpening it.
Adrien walked back on deck a few moments later placing his pistol back into its holster, "So...is it just gonna be me and you..as the raiding party...like normal?" he asked walking back over to Sarah's side.
Probably unless the newbies wanna join in." Sarah smirked, testing her blade with her finger, and with a little pressure, it made it bleed. "Perfectly sharp." she smirked.
"I already sharpened mine..." Adrien muttered plucking one of Sarah's hairs and dropping it on his now unsheathed blade watching as it was split in half, "See..."
Sarah nodded and rubbed her hea.d "Why'd you have to pluck one of mine...?"
"Because it would have hurt if I plucked one of mine..." Adrien said smiling childishly, "Just be glad I'm not your opponent anymore.." he said laughing now.
Sarah chuckled. "True, true, good point."
