The Vampire School
The Vampire school, it looks alot like a big old castle. For outsiders it's a private school where the students also live. But the truth is that it's here they train their soldiers.
The time was abit over midnight and Kitty sat in her room. Very bored, with a book her Queen had told her to read. The book about the relationship between her kind and the wolves. She had just come to the chapter about how to kill a wolf. She put the book away, she knew everything in this book! She sighed deeply and opened the window. Her room was in what was once the clock-tower. She looked out, at the beautiful full moon. Kitty took a deep breath, smelling the nightair. She wanted to go out, but couldnt. She was in her third day of housearrest. Just because she had beaten up another vampire for being an ass to her! Just one more night, she said to herself.
Michael hasted down the long hallway to the Queens chamber. He knocked heavily on the door, hoping she was there. "Mother? My Queen?!" He had to tell her the news! One of their worst fears had come true.
Brock stared out of the tree line, he was calm, patient.. the spirits demanded he arrive here on this very evening.. to check something out. he does a couple of circles around the vampire compound, evading the vampires that do patrols... he is unseen.. until he stops, staring through one of the windows is a figure that defies beauty.... she is gorgous... of course she is a vampire.. but there is something more, something that calls to him.. his blood sings for her... He sits, in his wolf form, waatching...
Kitty climbed out the window, she could smell something. And hear a faint but strong heartbeat. She climbed out on the roof. If the Queen had seen her now, man she would get ten years of sitting in her room. Suddenly she knew what it was, a wolf! On their territory. Kitty screamed. "Wolf! There's a
wolf here!" She tried to signalize to the guards. Quickly everyone was on high alert.
Brock cursed underneith his breath, how could he be so careless!! He quickly bolted from the property.. he couldn't handle braeaking a code like this.. sure he was king.. but there were many other things he had to take care of... as he rushed off of the property, the thoughts of this vampire lingering with him... he felt wanderful..
At Kitty's cry, Aiden ran outside, a knife in her hand and her teeth bared in a snarl. "Where is the mongrel?" She demanded to know, looking wildly around for any sight of the werewolf.
Kitty tried to listen, the heartbeats faded away. She cursed to herself, she should've been quiet and killed it herself! She climbed back into her room. Then she leant out of the window. "It's gone, Aiden! I cant hear it anymore!" She waved down to where Aiden was. Then she closed her window and sat down to read through the chapter about how to kill a wolf. After some time she fell asleep in the chair.
Queen Takara lounged regally upon the antique chaise longue that was placed within her private rooms reading a book that she had owned for many years. Her eyes moved from the pages of the book and up towards the door of her room when she heard the loud and somewhat hurried knock from behind it. "Enter..." she called out as she closed the book she had been reading and set it down upon the small ornate table beside her.
Michael entered the room, and gave her a gracious bow. "My Queen.." He said, and raised. "I bring terrible news." He sounded scared. His eyes lingered on the floor, not looking up at her, as he allways did. He never looked at the Queen, except when she asked him to.
Takara stood when Michael entered the room and moved to him when he spoke. Placing a finger under his chin she lifted his face up to look at hers. "What have I told you? Be confident when you enter a room and look at me. You act as if you are frightened of me but I have never done you harm, have I?" She moved to the window and rested her arm upon the sill. "Now what is this terrible news?" she asked watching him closely.
He looked at her, and nodded. "I'm sorry, my Queen.." He took a deep breath and tried to relax. "It's the werewolves, Mother. They..eh.. Their former king has been murdered.." He paused, knowing she wouldnt like the next part. "by Brock..He's their new King.." Michael knew Brock was a formidable fighter, and now also a great leader.
"Murdered? This does not make me happy." Takara answered gazing out the window now. "Brock will obviously want to mount a fresh attack upon us, we will have to ready ourselves.." She sighed and turned her attention back to Michael. " I do not want any vampires venturing out alone...you must all travel in groups, who knows what they are planning....an
d Michael please take good care of Kitty, you and her and the only things I have close to family, I would not want to lose either of you's. Now is that all the news you have heard or is there anything else?"
"Of course I'll take good care of Kitty, Mother." Michael smiled, he loved Kitty with all his non-beating heart. "I'll make sure this gets out to everyone." He nodded, and then tried to think if there were anything else he should tell her. "I think this is all for now, my Queen." He finally said. "Well, Kitty's been in her room for the three days, as you demanded. I've kept an eye on her, and she's done reading the book you asked her to." Poor Kitty, sit in her room for 3 days, reading a book about slaying werewolves. Michael knew how much she loved begin outside and alone on the church roof.
Steady footsteps echoed from outside the Queen's chamber, easily distinguished as NaTasha'a light, yet confident tap. The old vampire rapped her knuckles on the wood of the door, then hooked her thumb on her bow casually as she waited for her Queen's order to come in. She pushed her blonde hair out of her nearly Golden eyes, turning away from the door and looking out through the window at the moon. It was always such a peaceful sight to her, not the most peaceful sight, but a peaceful sight, nonetheless.
"She's finished the book? Hmm...well I shall just let her think of her actions for the next day until her punishment is over. She has to learn that I do not tolerate fighting amongst my children." Takara replied to Michael before turning her gaze to the door after she had heard another knock. "Enter..." she called after walking to a table in the corner of the room and pouring herself a goblet of what could be none other than blood from a large glass bottle.
"Takara." She murmured quietly, bowing her head tastefully before straightening back up and closing in on her queen. "I have sealed the alliance between our Sibling clan in Italy like you have asked. Lord Johnathon was happy to oblige you." Straight to the point. NaTasha slipped her hands into her jacket pockets, letting herself fall into a more relaxed and casual posture, instead of being straight up and down like she had a stick up her ass.
"That is good news...thank you NaTasha." Takara replied as she returned to her seat. "Help yourselves to a drink, both of you. Take it as a reward for bringing me valuable news." She said motioning to the glass bottle that held the blood that she had just poured herself a glass from.
Michael nodded to the Queens answer about Kitty. "But may I go see her tonight?" He asked, hoping to get a chance to speak with Kitty alone. When NaTasha entered the room, he just looked at her. He went over and took a glass of the fresh, warm blood and drank it with pleasure. His craving for blood had grown stronger each year. In his first years as a vampire, he didnt want to drink blood, not from innocent people. But now, as the world grew darker, more and more criminals were out in the streets and Michael knew how to pick them out.
"No." With one last tilt of the head, NaTasha headed back to the door. "My tastebuds can only take so much of the blood you feed on. My tastes lie with aged blood." She closed the door behind her quietly, then headed on back down to the main level of the school. She needed to go out and about for a little bit. Enclosed places made her anxious, even an enclosed place as big as the castle the clan lived in. With her preternatural speed she hit the bottom floor in no time, and headed on out of the castle through the large wooden doors, running as fast as her abilities would let her in an escape from the anxiousness she felt.
After looking around the premises for the supposed wolf, Aiden went back intside and straight to the queen's rooms, knocking brusquely on the door.
Takara glanced at Michael then finally gave a small nod. "Yes you may visit her, maybe you can talk some sense into her." She said before taking another sip of her drink. Her eyes were diverted once more to door when a third knock sounded. "I am popular tonight." She said setting her glass down upon the side table. "Enter." she called to Aiden.
Aiden entered and bowed swiftly to the queen, completely ignoring Michael. "My queen," she murmured as she straightened. "There has been a wolf sighting on the premises. He disappeared before we could catch him, but the wolves are definitely getting more daring."
"Ah...so it is beginning already." Takara replied not looking happy. "Daring yes, but still to scared to hang around for to long. Did anyone physically see this werewolf?" she asked Aiden watching her closely.
Aiden smirked slightly. "I believe Kitty was responsible for calling the alarm, she will be able to give you more information," Aiden said, fully aware of the fact that Kitty wasn't supposed to have been in any situation where she would have been able to make such an observation.
Michael glared at Aiden, then giving the Queen a nod. "I will go see her, maybe she saw somethig of inmportance. Or should I take her to you, Mother?" He asked. Hopefully she wouldnt get more punishment, afterall she had alarmed them. If she had not, someone could have been killed.
Takara stood, her expression stern. "Aiden I know you feel it is important to report to me if Kitty breaks the terms of her punishment but I do not want you to act smug at the thought of her getting repunished and Michael, go to Kitty find out what she saw...and tell her I will deal with her later, I do not appreciate people thinking they can outsmart me and that I will not find out if they do not do what I say." She walked to the window and gazed out at the moon above.
Michael bowed lightly and disappeared. He walked quickly to Kittys room, hoping she would tell him the truth. He knocked the door and entered. They talked for a long time, Kitty told him about what had happened. Michael listened to her, not saying a word. He adored this girl, hoping she would be his one day. His eyes resting on her face as she explained.
"Certainly, my Queen," Aiden murmured, but she didn't look very contrite. Kitty was the Queen's personal favourite an annoying little goody goody. Aiden couldn't stand her, and she wasn't going to pretend otherwise.
"Are you angry about something Aiden...you know you can hide nothing from me." Takara said suddenly turning to look at Aiden as she pushed her long white hair from her face.
"Nothing more than the usual," Aiden said wryly, referring to the well-known fact that people in general in most cases annoyed her something terrible.
"I do not understand why you find it so hard to get along with other vampires...is there no one that you like Aiden?" Takara asked motioning to the jug of blood for Aiden to pour herself a glass if she wanted to.
Aiden shrugged and poured herself a glass. She took a sip to gather her thoughts. "I like people. I just don't find it necessary to spend every minute in their company, or indulge their fragile sensitivities with insincere compliments, which in most cases lead to them rejecting me rather than the other way around," she said tersely. She knew she couldn't lie to her queen.
Takara nodded then decided to pursue the topic no further. "With the new threats with the werewolves I do not want you venturing out alone, do you understand?"
"What?" Aiden exclaimed, her head snapping up to look at Takara. "You expect me to hunt with other people?"
"Yes." Takara said simply. "And unless you want to be punished like Kitty you will do what I say, is that clear Aiden? Have I got your word that you will not disobey me?"
Aiden closed her eyes and her face took on a pained expression. "Fine," she ground out, scowling deeply. "But I don't like it."
"Do not think I enjoy keeping you's all in check like this, I don't. But i'd rather cause a little annoyance than loose any of you." Takara responded returning to her seat looking serious.
"We don't need to be coddled," Aiden said under her breath, finishing off the glass of blood. She noticed that the glass wasn't nearly enough, so she'd have to track down someone who could hunt with her later. Michael perhaps. He was just as annoying as Kitty, but infinitely more fun to rile up.
"Well is there anything else you need with me Aiden?" Takara asked as she lounged once more in her chair watching Aiden where she stood.
Aiden knew a dismissal when she heard one and she bowed her head briefly. "I'll show myself out," she said, then turned and exited the rooms.
Michael left Kitty to her punishment, and headed back to his Queen. He met Aiden, but didnt even look at her. He kept walking back to the Queens Chamber. He knocked twice and entered. "Mother, I've been with Kitty. You want to hear what she said?"
"Yes of course, tell me everything." Takara replied as she set down her now empty goblet.
He nodded and sat down. "She told me that she had opened the window, Mother. To get some fresh air. She was sitting by the window, reading, when she heard a strong heartbeat." He paused. "She didnt see anything, but she said that she would be able to recognize the wolf if she heard his heart again." Michael swallowed, feeling hungry now.
Takara smiled suddenly. "I think it's time Kitty's punishment ended and we went hunting...for werewolves. You shall come along...and Aiden." she said standing up quickly.
"Yes, Mother!" Michael got up. "I'll go tell Kitty." He sounded happy. He gave the Queen one of his few smiles. Finally Kitty was free, that was all that mattered to him.
"Fetch both Aiden and Kitty please then report back here." Takara replied seeming happier than she had been in a long time. It had been a while since she had been hunting.
He nodded and hurried out of the chamber. "Aiden!" He called, knowing she had to be nearby. "Hey! Aiiiideeen! We're gonna go huunt!" He grinned, knowing she hated to hunt together with other vampires.
Aiden had just rounded the corner down the hall and stopped as she heard her name called out. When she recognized Michael's voice she rolled her eyes. "Oh, joy," she called back, her tone heavy with sarcasm.
"The Queen said you were to report back at the Chamber. I'll be right there, with your best friend.. Kitty.." He almost spat at her as he walked past her. "I bet you'll have a great time.." He said and disappeared up the long stairs that lead to Kittys room.
"Such a temper," Aiden murmured and cast a look after him, then she shook her head and turned around, heading back to the chamber. She knocked lightly, waiting for the queen to answer.
After about 3 minutes, Kittys light voice and Michaels deep voice could be heard from where Aiden was. They were chatting about everything and nothing, but became silent as they approached her. They didnt really like her, so the stopped a few metres away from her.
"Enter!" Came Takara's booming voice from her room. She had been pacing round it while she had awaited their arrival.
Aiden opened the door and slipped in before the lovey dovey pair. "My Queen," she murmured.
Kitty walked in. "Hi, mom.. thanks for letting me out!" She smiled, finally feeling abit more free. "Where are we going?" She asked, curious. Michael stayed outside the chamber, waiting.
"Hunting. Your going to track down the werewolf who dared trespass upon vampire land, and then...we're going to kill them." Takara replied as she looked between both Kitty and Aiden.
"Ok, mom. No problem." Kitty said short, not being able to wait. "Can we go now? I have to get my spear first!" She sounded overexcited. Michael shook his head lightly, smiling to himself.
Aiden rolled her eyes. "Do you really need me for this?" She asked drily. "Xena the warrior princess over here seems to have it covered."
"Shut up, Aiden!" Kitty spat at her. "Or do you want the same fate as David?" Ofcourse she was talking about the vampire she had beaten the crap out of some days ago. Kittys eyes had a slight hint of red now, as she felt abit angry.
"As if you could ever beat me," Aiden said, shooting Kitty a dirty look. "David was a wimp, everyone knows that. Besides, he probably let you win, wouldn't want the precious princess to lose," Aiden's voice took on a mocking sing-song quality.
"SILENCE!" Takara shouted angrily. "I will not tolerate this childish fighting, we are all going hunting and that is that, understood?" She glared at the both of them, not happy with eithers behaviour.
"Very well," Aiden said tightly, but it didn't stop her from glaring at Kitty.
Kitty glared back at Aiden, but she didnt say another word. She listened to her Queen, ofcourse. She turned and went to get her spear. On her way up the stairs she hit the wall, angry. She hated that Aiden-bitch so much! She went into her room, found the spear. And divided it into the two swords, just to check if they were still useable. She nodded to herself and put them together again.
"Let's go...Kitty will meet us outside." Takara said sharply as she lifted the serrated sword that was propped against the wall. It had been a gift from her beloved, given to her weeks before his murder. She sheathed it quickly then marched from the room, not waiting for any replies.
As Aiden didn't go anywhere without a knife or two tucked away somewhere, she was all ready to go and followed the queen silently.
Michael nodded to his Queen and followed her. Moments later, Kitty came out. She took a deep breath, finally free. She gave Aiden a grin, then looked at Takara. "Mother, may I go to the church later? I need to confess.." She said, she loved the big church so much.
"Of course.." Takara replied as she slowly made her way to the entrance gate of the property. She stopped suddenly and turned to Kitty. "Now I need you to find the scent."
Kitty nodded. "Let's go.. if he's out there, I will find him.. his heartbeat was different from the rest of the wolves.." She said and headed for the city. The werewolves wouldnt believe that they were out looking for them at this time. The morningsun was allready up, and everyone still believed in the old story about vampires and light.
Aiden made a show of yawning and walking as far away from the others as she could without seeming too rude.
"Good..I trust that you can find him Kitty." Takara said as she followed her quickly towards the city.
