~~~~The Knights Barracks~~~~
:
At the head of a winding flight of stairs (on the second floor of the keep) you come to a railed landing with an exceptionally high ceiling and large windows.
A massive oaken door stands surrounded by potted plants.
Despite the door's size it swings open and shut easily, moving silently on well oiled hinges.
Beyond this door is a broad hall, lined with opposing doors as it stretches away.
These are the private bedchambers of the knights and squires. As with the rest of the castle, the hall is well lit during the day by the high-arched windows and at night by the multitudes of smokeless torches.
At the far side of the hall is another oaken door. This one much smaller and covered and gorgeousd carvings of nature.
This door leads to the
The Barracks Commons
Where the knights relax...
Only the knights and squires in service of Vangaard reside here.
The village's inn, cottages or even other castle bedchambers are the places for travelers and other NPC folk.
Knights and the like may be given or take their own room number by entering it below.
They may also decorate their own room with whatever prizes or trophies they accumulate, or whatever they can afford for extra furnishings.
Knights' and Squires' Quarters
The rooms are ALL identical; containing one simple full size or Queen sized bed, a typical desk with leather-bound-cushion seat, a large iron-bound wooden chest for storage, a medium-sized hearth and washbasin.
*~All rooms are considered locked at all times, and are unavailable to anyone but the owner, (that is, aside from viewing and leaving messages via "knocking" or leaving notes, of course)
In the event of any picked locks, break-ins, or otherwise unjust, un-knightly behavior, the offender will be punished severely.
Such behavior is unbecoming of the Vangaardians, and will not be tolerated.
The Barracks Commons
*This includes only the Garden-view balcony and the respective interior foyer.*
*Enlisted fellows may post their respective quarters below, on either the left or right of the hall and list by following example*
*any un-enlisted names will be deleted.*
*And be sure to make your personal chambers editable only by you by putting a password on it*
*keep in mind that unless your character is in a certain room, he doesn’t know what goes on there (even if you do).
2007-02-06 [Chrysilla]: Errmm... I thought there was a balcony, could you please add a wiki? :)
2007-02-07 [Darian Hawke]: there is a balcony, in the commons....
2007-02-08 [Darian Hawke]: I'm thinking that perhaps this whole room thing isnt needed. I mean the barracks is needed so people can know when you go to sleep but the rooms? isnt it a bit much? The only thing i can think of it being useful for is perhaps storing belongings...
2007-02-08 [Dulio]: I agree...
2007-02-08 [M. P. Ness]: yeah, I was thinking the same, after its creation...
it really only serves the purpose of storing things and documenting where it is that you go when you go to sleep, or perhaps where you can be found in slumber...ie, third door on the right, fourth on the left, etc.
I like the commons though...*nods*
2007-02-08 [Darian Hawke]: alright then. I think that the rooms should ONLY be used as storage place for equipment and trophies, momentos etc'...
No need to RP there how you go about your room. Spend your creative energies in the other rooms. alright?
2007-02-08 [Dulio]: Roger. *smiles*
2007-06-10 [M. P. Ness]: *He would spend a while scrubbing to get those white clothes clean, somehow soiled more than usual. Then again, he'd been out there for a while. maybe it wasn't so unusual.
2007-06-14 [M. P. Ness]: *~He'd only just gotten his garments clean. They hung from his personal balcony, beside the commons' own, overlooking the gardens, and he sat, drinking water when he heard the commotion of the arrival.
His sharp ears picked it up easily, a cry was taken up. Darian had returned.
*quick as a wit, his glass was forgotten, and he threw on his garments, mostly dried by now.
And out he went, swift for Vangaard's Great Hall
2007-06-17 [Chrysilla]: Sofia got out of her room and headed the balcony, whose doors she opened to let the fresh air in. Today she wore a long, silver silk dress that made her look like a princess and not at all like a warrior. Her hair was tied with a blue ribbon, and she had a thin silver chain on her forehead. She had spent much more time to arrange herself that morning as she knew Lord Darian was home, and new people came in Vangaard. Sofia breathed the fresh air deeply, then smiled and headed towards the Vangaard Castle`s yard.
2007-06-17 [Synsae]: Kael awoke and came out of his room to the sounds of a busy castle. At first he had thought Vangaard was under attack, so when he exited his room he was wearing his battle clothes and had his 2 scimitars drawn out and in his hands, but then he realized from the voices around that Lord Darian had returned. Quickly he sheathed his scimitars and chuckled as he thought to himself, "Been in the military to long..."
2007-06-17 [Synsae]: Kael's stomach growled and thus he thought it was time to go get some food, so he headed to Vangaard's Great Hall
