Poem's Title: Zero Versus Zero
Poem:

I heard them say that one out of every three
Pledged and sworn Americans are actually free
Spend their cash on prescription
short term remedies for long term addictions

They say I've got to experience all I can
and what doesn't kill me only makes me stronger
But with pressurized and shrink wrapped security
I don't think I can take this any longer

They say I gotta go
And if I don't try, I'll never know
But I'll take the zero
And you can tell me how it goes
on the other side with the greener grass
filled with false hope and laughing gas
I know my options and I know I can choose, but
The only freedom we have is the right to lose

Does it get any louder when you accept the lies
The mindless monotony of derision and division
'cause from over here I can still hear the sighs
bask in the warm glow of your television

Poem's Title:River Through The City
Poem:

The far reaching barren
Branches
With their finest hint of returning green...
They whisper to me
As I walk...
Hips swaying,
Arms swinging.
The dirt trail beneath,
Traveled many times over
Offers up it's own song...
A pause in step
Brings to my weary mind
The distant growl of cars,
Reminding me of why I came this way...
The dust and fumes
Choking me till
Breathless
I climbed down the hill,
Farther, untill my concrete battered toes
Reached soil.
A sigh that seems to ascend from
Those same feet,
With head tilled back
Sun warmed cheeks...
Hearing over the roar and thunder
Of gleaming metal,
The merry song of birds
And tree,
For a moment
Freeing me of the mundane.

Poem's Title:Life?
Poem:

Rue the day life goes sour;
Expression grey, sad, and dour.

Rage conquers upon this eve;
While this life I long to leave.

Bring an end to this long pain;
While happines I do feign.

And with gutless bravery;
I last, but another day.

Instead I waste all my time;
Searching for a silly ryme.

So now the days pass away;
Have only myself to betray.

When I find the pain is done;
Not everything is gone...

Poem's Title: Lines
Poem: The line stretched out into the desert
The origin unknown except to those
Who have waited in line the longest.

Some of the line consisted of those
Who felt the need to see just what was
So interesting that everyone would
Wait in line to see it.
These people all adorned the same uniform.

A handful of the rest felt they had to boast
That they knew that somehow at the end
There would be a certainly glorious sight
To behold and cherish for all eternity.
But not if you shunned their product.

The majority of the rest stood in line
Just for the sake of standing in line.
They take pride in their lack of care
And have no care if they waste their time.
These people all were born in one decade.

And at the back of the line you'll see yourself.
You'll be looking ahead at the myriad people
All in their own minds waiting for a purpose.
And you will see there are some who ask others
To hold their place while they go do something worthwhile.

How long will you wait in line?

Poem's Title: A dream....
Poem:

In my life, my hopes, and dreams
I have fallen father then it seems
For hope lives no more
In the life of love and gore
No more to sing
And not to cry
I just keep falling In this dream
I feel hearts and love it seems
But only to know it is not the real thing
This life I am living is a lie
But deep inside I know to try to the find the truth before I die
