The Upper City, North End

Sevenoaks Street

Image in progress

Sevenoaks street is a small but long and quiet street off the Gold Road. As unassuming as it may look, the prime position Sevenoaks holds as a bridge between the financial and the education center of the Royal city makes it one of the most expensive places to own property in the Royal City. Many professors at the Royal School live there, as well as the wealthiest students who do not wish to stay at the school itself. It is best known for the Royal Crown Inn, however. The oldest restaurant and inn in the Royal City and home away from home to most of the great engineers the Royal School has produced. Its where these future leaders of the Royal City gather as hopeful teens and a reference point for many influential dealings over a fine mug of ale.

Accalia followed the familiar street to the WoW - Royal Crown Inn, her dark eyed gaze casting about before she entered.

Some time after Accalia had traversed Sevenoaks Street, Tok motored along a bit ahead of its master's feet, then Thaddeus also appeared, strolling in from WoW - Gold Road North. Zahrah's curious 'old acquaintance' had also traveled in this direction, and Thad took a brief, sweeping glance of the street to see if he could spot where the woman had gotten to (Notice). His eyes followed the woman as she made her way to Magister Row, half out of sheer curiosity and half out of what could be perhaps be described as appreciation of the pretty engineer. It was then he realized that Zahrah was following him, and he glanced back to see where she was. He performed almost a full circle, with Tok performing a similar maneuver at his feet, but at a larger circumference. Brow furrowed, the young man headed back the way he had just come. After a few minutes, Thad finally made it back from Gold Road North, and this time he didn't hesitate as he headed toward WoW - Magister Row North.

This street was much emptier, and Tetra was able to move more quickly, making her way down the quiet and road and onto Wow - Magister Row North.

A smile still on her face and knowing that people around here would stare at a lone escort wandering through the engineering sector, Zahrah walked straight to WoW - Magister Row North now knowing what she was looking for.

Once outside, Accalia came to the realization that she was missing one of the key elements to proceed with this task she'd been given; additional support as requested by her new employer. This was problematic for Cali, as she had very few close contacts and little to no friends to speak of. Pausing just outside the tavern with a mildly puzzled expression, she tried to think of possible options. Going at it alone, while extremely tempting, was probably not feasible. Rill, who came to mind since she'd seen him earlier, was absolutely out of the question. Thinking about it now she still bristled at the thought of him having forgotten who she was.

Cali might have been too much of a city dweller, but she did grow up in the Royal city, and she knew at least the most common haunts in the city for people looking for work. She probably had enough money for two companions plus whatever equipment she needed. If she wanted someone cheap and desperate, she could try to go all the way down to the lower city and try the Clay Stairs, it's where dregs with few skills went to make money by putting their lives of the line and she could probably convince a couple of them to risk their lives in the cold instead of the sweltering heat of the under-city. While on the lower city, if she wanted a mage, she could try her hand at the Alchemist's Row in the mage market, and she had heard of a place called the White Sands, where decent Majai henchmen lurked, but she wasn't sure where it was. In the upper city, companions would be a bit more expensive but they'd be daguerrians, like her. She could get an engineer over at the engineer's guild, on the Northern Magister row. Alternatively she could try a tinkerer or a gearhead at the Southern Magister row, cheaper but no warranties. There was The Frostmaw, a dive bar in the southern Ruby Road, though a woman going there alone was risky, Cali figured she was tough enough. She could also try the Lonetrain Station Quarters, up top, rangers and soldiers on leave usually stayed there when in the city. Finally she could go to the Guild, the Ranger's guild was where she could probably get the most experienced companions, it was in Hasting's South. The only problem was that Cali owed three months of dues, around 30 guerrmarks... luckily for her she had just gotten a bunch of money.

Accalia had received a decent sum of funds, more than enough to cover her expenses she thought, enough to hire a couple folks to take along with and maybe even some new equipment. She ran over the options in her head and eventually decided that she should pay a visit to the lower city first before heading over to the guild, pay her dues, and see if she couldn't bring another ranger along with. It was always better to stick with what one knew. The bars would be her best shot for some hired muscle, she felt, and a quick drink. She needed one after everything she just learned. Double checking her pockets and coat to make sure she had everything, Cali headed on her way to Wow - Gold Road North.

2014-06-27 [Ms. Steel]: poke poke poke poke poke poke poke poke

2014-06-28 [Duredhel]: Not poking me, right? :O!

2014-06-28 [Ms. Steel]: nope :-)

2014-06-30 [Ms. Steel]: It's only a little confusing. :-I

2014-09-09 [The Black Goat]: so I know I need to do a post here, but I'm not sure where to take Cali now, she needs companions but as she tends to be of the disagreeable type and doesn't have any friends, I'm guessing I'll need to form up with some other players.

2014-09-09 [Duredhel]: You can talk to other player characters or do a memory/knowledge roll as to where to look for companions :D

2014-09-10 [Duredhel]: Gonna wait for Nox to post here :>

2014-09-13 [Duredhel]: Cali might be Rill's ticket out, actually XD. Blackwood or Raleigh could vouch for Rill so he's allowed out of the city (or she could bribe someone)

2014-09-13 [The Black Goat]: Cali is thoroughly pissed at Rill for having not remembered who she was (he was her first lol) I could see her avoiding him at all possible costs because she is a terribly prideful thing

2014-09-14 [Duredhel]: Good memory roll, many places.

2014-09-14 [The Black Goat]: So many options XD

2014-09-14 [Duredhel]: It's like getting to pick your party :3, find people who compliment Cali's abilities. Remember that its not a good idea to have Mages and Engineers working too closely XD, they make each other's abilities fizzle.

2014-09-17 [Duredhel]: meep :>

2014-09-17 [The Black Goat]: I'm so bad at this >____>

Am I allowed to buy one friend and see if any other player wants to come along?

2014-09-17 [Duredhel]: Sure :3

2014-09-18 [The Black Goat]: cool, she'll probably go with a ranger then for her paid companion, and I'll go ask around for a PC character as well

2014-09-18 [Duredhel]: Awesome :3, you can ask in the comments of the character page.

2014-10-01 [Duredhel]: Sooooo?

2014-10-02 [The Black Goat]: tomorrow, I'll send it to myself at work, less distractions there
