Among the very few people who've seen the creatures of the wastes, one of the most common questions and sources of debate is how these human-like monsters manage to locate their prey. Some venture smell, hearing or other such developed senses, as the beasts have but a pair of darkened pits where eyes should be. The so called Deadeyes, however, challenge such ideas. Armed with composite bows, these creatures will sometimes accompany roving bands of outrunners. Though their bows are old and rotted, they have deadly accuracy among the white snows. It is interesting to know that, should a Deadeye's bow snap or be destroyed, the creature will flee rather than picking up a different weapon.
