Study!

No, stop running away, this is the fun part were you get to develope a new habit, watching. What, don't look at me like that, you'll see what i'm talking about by the time you finish reading this lesson, trust me.

People watching is a big part of writing. Manuerisms, habits, movement, it's key to description. If you dont know what it is, how can you describe it.

So now I give you a homework assignment, not to be handed in of course, you need it more than i do, if you dont do it, it's to your loss not mine:

Watch people. Get yourself a good pair of dark sunglasses, a book or a newspaper, and go to a heavily populated area, preferrably with a place to sit and watch, and well, do just that. Watch what people do. How they walk, what their clothes look like while they walk, how their hair moves, notice everything. Don't be obvious about it, just sit and watch. You'll be surprised as to what youy can see about people after a afternoon of doing this, and don't keep going to the same place every time, variety is key here. Many situations, different people, it all counts in your descriptions later.

I reccommend finding a Rennasiance Faire and going for the day, go ahead, get the period clothes, I do admit it's kool. But watch people, the more you see, the more you learn.
