Abilities/powers: Zane has the ability to absorb Solar energy into his body. He takes in the solar energy and his body stores it and manipulates it into large amounts. The amount he can hold in him at a time is unknown. He in a sense of the phrase is a battery. He also has the unique ability to transfer his energy to another person or object. The energy he intakes allows him to be up all hours of the night and day, seeing as his energy is inexhaustible. Another side to his power is that he can take the energy he absorbs and can emit it from his body in darts of energy. He can fluctuate the energy flow and change the size, color, and what the darts of energy can do. The type of dart he makes depends on the amount of energy and the amount of concentration he uses. The downside of his powers is that even though he is always absorbing energy, he has to let it out, not in equal capacity, but just a little at a time. He’s always shooting out harmless darts of energy and annoying people with them. The number of darts he can send out depend on the amount of energy he taps into. If he in fact does not let out any energy, his body will start to overcharge, and if he still doesn’t let any energy out, his body will release it for him, in a charge of power that could cause a large amount of damage. It is always imperative that he let out energy, even if it is a small amount.
Downside of his power: Even though his body stores solar energy, if he doesn't get sunlight within a certain amount of time his body becomes slightly weakened. Sunlight is his power source, take it away and he can only rely on what his body has stored inside him, when all that runs out, and he has not returned into the sunlight, he would most likely die.

General appearance: Zane is 5’11 and has a medium build. He has an angular face with sharp features. His hair is a soft golden color, and is thick and a little unruly, much like a surfers. He has sharp eyes that are colored a deep, deep crystal blue. He has an even tan that he has gotten from staying out in the sun for too long in his life. His style of clothing varies as to how the situation is, as in if the situation calls for clothing that allows quick movement he’ll wear tight clothing or, if he wants to be comfortable, he’ll wear cargo shorts and a vest. His body is something he tends to be very proud of himself for, he likes to stay in shape by swimming and dancing, which those two things are almost everything to him.
Additional appearance: Zane has numerous scars that go across his back, and the back of his legs, he received them as punishment from his parents any time he used his powers. He has a small star shaped birthmark on his left shoulder, which he has turned into a tattoo. He has a tattoo of the Egyptian eye of Rah on his lower back.
Personality: Zane has an unusual personality. He can make friends more than easily enough, and enjoys spending time with people. But at random points in time his emotions seem to shut off and he lapses into intense silences and depressed states. He enjoys being who he is and doesn’t despair that he is a mutant. He thrives on life, he loves doing, he always is moving onto the next thing, and doing anything and everything he can just to sate his thirst for life. Though he appears happy and friendly on the outside, on the inside under forced emotions of life and joy, lays the suppressed feelings of hatred and depression at his life before he came to the institute. He may be a friendly person but he can’t trust people, not even other mutants, because deep inside he believes anyone is capable of great evil, even those that are close to you. As a result of his mutant abilities, Zane is usually restless; he can’t quite sit still most of the time. Usually he is tapping his foot or shooting out little harmless darts of energy.
Special Skills: Zane has been dancing and swimming for most of his life, taking to it easier than anything he could have ever done. He has several trophies for both and has even been mentioned and interviewed by news stations on how well he does in both of them. Besides dancing and swimming, Zane has a great love of art, and has taken to painting lately to relieve his stress.

Weapon(s) of choice: His favorite weapons are his energy darts, but if for some reason is unable to use them, he is trained in hand-to-hand combat. But his favorite weapons are two Sai he usually has hidden on his person.
Medical information: Since Zane never suffers from exhaustion and is always awake and never sleep, his body is always be in peak condition, which is why he is usually in the gym, or swimming, or hiking, or anything of the sort to keep him fit. The only thing he
has that is unhealthy about him is his lapses of emotion that shut him off from the rest in the world while he is inside his own head. He has refused to take any kind of medication for his emotional relapses and refuses as well to talk about his past.
Brief History: Zane was raised with a strict upbringing in a small town in the mountains of Georgia. Everyone knew everyone’s business no matter who they were. Zane’s family owned and ran the local town hall meeting building. It had been in there family for generations back to when the town was first founded. In the social arch of the town Zane’s parent’s were right in-line with they mayor. At the age of five, Zane’s powers of collecting energy started to manifest, he would stay up all hours of the night, and would never tire. His record of staying up is a week straight. His parents didn’t know what to do with him; they were flabbergasted at his energy levels. They took him to a specialist and tried to find what was wrong with him, but the specialist found absolutely nothing wrong with him, in fact he was one of the healthiest boys he had ever treated. Even though they were told nothing was wrong with him, his parents disagreed and got the doctor to proscribe sleeping pills. At the age of seven, his power of infusing objects and people came into play. People started to notice once they hugged him or touched him, they would feel energized, they mentioned it to his parents and they refused to believe it, saying their son was just charismatic. Once he got into middle school he had tons of friends, and he was always doing things because of his large amounts of energy. He joined football, soccer, baseball, tennis, wrestling, and he joined the drama club, dance squad, and even the swim team. With all his energy he was able to become one of the best in each of his activities. But he was soon looked down upon as people found out he was a mutant. He was bullied kicked off a few teams, (soccer, football, baseball, and wrestling to be exact). But a few of the groups he had joined didn’t care what he was, they cared about him for who he was. So he stayed with the tennis, drama club, dance squad, and swim team. Which he excelled at immensely, winning several trophies and competitions because of it. But, his parents did not even recognize his accomplishment
s, finally realizing what their son was, a freak. Every time they found out about him using his abilities, they would punish him, by any means necessary. When he reached High School at the age of 14 he was more reserved and quiet than he had ever been. His parents had him on several types of medication and were punishing him more than ever for his mutant abilities when he used them. He went through high school quiet and in the background. Though he still went for the Swim Team and Dance Team, both of which he through himself into and experienced his emotions through. He graduated second in his class, but by that time, his parents were treating him worse than ever, because he had stopped taking his medication. His outlook on life changed at this point, he wanted to get away from his abusive parents. At the age of 17 he left home and set out on his own, striving for a place to be himself. He soon heard of Xavier’s school and thought it might be something worth trying out.
