Morgan walked in and closed the door. She took a deep breath and got to work. She brought out her suitcase and started packing- at the speed of sound of course.

There was a knock on the door and Joss' voice came from outside "Morgan... are you there?"

"It's open." Morgan called, closing her suitcase and zipping it shut.

Joss cracked the door open and stuck his head threw, he noticed her suitcase and came in. He'd tried to discourage her from leaving when they where working on the water mill, it seemed that she'd made up her mind "So can I expect a letter, or at least a post card?"

"See that's the thing, why don't you come with me? We can travel together." Morgan offered with a smile.

Joss placed his hands in his pockets and leaned against the door facing, it looked as if he where examining his feet and wasn't very interested in the prospect of joining her. "Morgan... it's dangerous out there. No matter how crazy it seems in here."

"Oh please- this place is just buffet table for death, time travel, monsters, aliens... just to name a few. I'm sick of doing all the damn work to save their sorry asses. I'm just gonna run to a beach somewhere."

"I can't go with you." Joss said, his head still down. "Call me crazy but I believe in what they teach here. Equality to humans and mutants, if it means I get sent back in time or lost in some alternate dimension I think it's worth it."

"Uh...huh.. Sorry but I disagree. I'd rather just live my life than fight a war that I can just as easily be away from. If anything the normals out there should be the ones dealing with all this shit. They started this fucking war!" Morgan said, starting to shout.

"The normals don't care about us." Joss said "As long as people aren't throwing flaming glass bottles at their houses and families they don't care."

"I know they don't care! That mob out there was even more proof." Morgan said, gathering her things. "Why the hell are we dickin' around and trying to play nice when we should be out there fighting back?! We are humans too, dammit!"

"I think the point is to not drop to their level... besides we're teenagers. Don't you think the battle for good and evil should be fought by people with actual training in this sort of thing?" Joss said. He wasn't at all looking forward to seeing her go.

"Please- what else do I need to learn? No one even knows I'm there after I've come and gone. The same goes for this place." Morgan said, not wanting to bring up the whole 'I murdered someone' thing.

Joss felt certain that he was fighting a loosing battle and revealed a side of himself he'd never let Morgan see. "FINE!" he shouted "Go, I don't care any more. Your only the first woman I ever loved." And with that he slammed the door behind him. Rooted on the spot he couldn't move but just stood there and listened for a reaction. Hopefuly she'd get angry and come to stop him.

To be honest, Morgan was so in shock by Joss's yelling that she just stood there, dumbfounded for a while. Figuring that he was already long gone and out of the hallway, she looked down at her little greyhound that had awoken on her bed from the shouts. She let go of her things and leaned over to it, petting it's innocent head. Morgan reached back into her pocket and took out a wad of $100s and slid it under the dog's collar. That should be enough for Crys to either take care of him or find a shelter to stick him in.
She looked at the door that Joss had slammed and frowned a little, disappointed that he refused her offer. "It would've been nice." she said before looking to the window, her exit.

Outside in the hall Joss' hypersensitive ears couldn't help but catch what she said and the sorrow laced threw her voice. A steeliness went down his spine, telling him to leave her be and make her own decisions but his heart didn't agree with his spine no matter how much it told him to be a man about this. His heart was on better terms with his legs and feet than his spine and that led him back threw the door and saying "Wait!".

Morgan was already gone.

Finding the room empty Joss' heart sank. He hurried to the window to try and catch her but there was no trace save a fading cloud of dust.
