The knucker is a long serpentine dragon. It has four legs and small vestigial wings.
They are generally found around swamps and woodlands. Most knuckers live in England although they can be found all over Europe.
Knuckers eat almost anything up to the size of a small child.
The knucker nests in deep ponds or wells called 'knucker holes' these are reputed to be bottomless. The knuckers venom poisons the water and gives it strange properties. In the winter the water is warm and in the summer the water is cold.
Anyone who stays around a knucker hole will be slowly poisoned by the venom which hangs as a vapour around the hole, eventuly knocking the person out for the knucker to eat at will.
The knucker varies in colour from red to brown to yellow and green.
Anyone who is lucky enough to see a knucker should be carefull, although the knucker dose not look dangerous or even very fast, it can move at lightning speed and constrict a person before they have the time to turn and run.
Despite popular belife knuckers are incapable of breathing fire.
