Elane glides out into the outer courtyards. It felt so wonderful out here. She paused to muse over what had happened when her magicself talked with the mysterious wanderer. Was he a spy? It was something to ponder carefully.
"You make quite a first impression, Elane of the Drow." Salek leaned against the castle wall, playing once again with one of her many knives. She then says casually,"May I have my knife back?"
Elane chuckles dryly at Salek. "Oh, I do try my hardest. What causes ye tae say that?" She deftly tossed Salek's dagger beside its owner.
Salek picks up the knife and sheathes it, saying,"thank you. You actually got me to peirce something, that's all. Usually I just go for the hat or the shirt...congra
tulations,"she says drily.
Elane snorts and rubs her ear that had been pierced, "I am not sure if I should thank 'ee or not." She felt around the edges of her ear. It had healed quite well.
Salek smiles. "If that's a problem, you can always go up to the ward...do you deal with blades much?"she says, guesturing to the knives in Elane's belt.
"Aye." She says with a crooked grin, "More 'en the years I can count."
"So, why are you here? Shelter from the outside world, perhaps? Or something darker than a simple reason..."Salek looked instead at the air in front of her, staring absently.
No one is going to scry into my mind. Elane thought, she blocked her mindself from magical view. "Wandering. Aye, so you can say shelter." She said in an off-handed way. "Ye are mighty supicious of yer guests."
"I have to be, under the circumstances."Salek smiles and sighs, glancing at Elane. "Such is life."
Elane's honey-gold eyes pierce over at Salek. She raises an eyebrow, "Aye?"
She nods slowly, then turns to face her. "It is a war, you know. So, are you going to join us, or will you leave, or shall you stay and live in this castle?"
"I may tarry at the castle for a bit longer.I am a wanderer, my lady. I go as I please and where I will."
"As many who pass here are like you, I shall bid you good luck when you leave and hope you will return."
Elane gives Salek an elegant leg "And I will return the gesture." Elane folds her black cloak around her and dissapears without a trace..
Salek laughs. "Tleporting or invisibility, I wonder? In any case, I'll have to save up to get one from Smith..."She says aloud to no one in particular..
Flagara has had enough of the evil of her kyn spreading around. Even being the Great Dragon Warrior, as named by her clan, she could not defeat them alone. She repirmanded herself silently for resorting to mingling with the castle dwellers, but she wished to be rid of the evil that had arisen and, as much as she wished to deny it, she needed a little help. She appraoched the castle and swept around it in circles several times before descending to the courtyard, where a single person stood. She landed lightly, her emerald scales glinting in the sunlight. For a moment, she only looked around and up at the castle, but finally her gaze came to rest on Salek.
"Hello, Milady." Salek bowed slightly, her features slowly becoming more draconic than human. "What brings you to such a small castle as this?"
Flagara answered telepathically, as is the preferred way of the dragons, <I have come to inquire of all you know of the enemy. Are there warriors here who have gathered to go against him? I have tried, and gone far, but myself and my warriors can only go so far. There is magic that we cannot pass through, along with many other things, that prevent us from victory. I have come to ask your help, if you have any to give.> Flagara's voice lowered, for she did not wish to admit their need.
A slow and small smile spread across Salek's face. <You have come to the right place, Milady. Our numbers are not as great as the Bastard's, but they are far more accurate. Several beasts and men and elves and sprites live here that create things of all kinds, magicked or charmed or enhanced. We have enough money to fund most projects and we are getting a steady trade route grounded with Them. Any help you need against the Prince we will gladly give.>
<Am I correct, then, in the impression that no group intends to leave soon in an attempt to go against his forces, if at all?> Flagara asked, rustling her wings slightly.
<I have no clue as to what gave you that impression. A few of us are going to the Bastard's castle at midnight tonight to implant some bombs. After that.....Well, I shall explain my tactics when I need to and not right now.>Salek's voice was low, as she did not want anyone else to hear for good reasons.
A hint of a smile came across Flagara's draconic features. <Well, then, I will remain here for a while and see if there are any who wish to aid me and my small army in getting past some of the magic. Would you please relay a message to those inside that I am here and looking for mages or others willing to lend me their time to go against the enemy? It would greatly be appriciated.>
Salek smiles. <Gladly, milady.>
Flagara smirked draconically in return and settled herself comfortably on the lawn.
The wanderer finally got all his stuff out of the castle and outside the castle walls... not minding anybody that was present, he stood quaietly for a few moments, staring at the pille of books he had written for the past time... the pain seemed to be growing in intencity by every passing second...
He knew he didn't had much time left... So, with his shivering hands he took a match and lit it... and with a simple gesture, he put the books on fire...
The paper quickly took flame and soon, the entire pille was engoulfed in a raging fire... that didn't last long though, as the material was consumed and turned to ashes...
After it had ended, the wanderer took one last look at the cstle, and then turned away and started walking... again heading in to the wildernesses from wich he had came...
A voice, cool and quiet, but sad, carries over the wind to the Wanderer's ears and to his alone. Goodbye, Wanderer. Fare thee well.....
Elane found herself hit the ground hard. The Dark elf winced in pain and rolled over, hugging herself. She rolled over again, onto her knees. Her black hair spilling over her tan face. "Ouch." She whispered. She backed up slowly against the castle wall and pulled herself up. "What happened to the laddie?" She asked herself quietly. Elane turned her face west, to avoid the painful rays of the sun that was just begining to creep into the sky. "What was that? What happened?" She shakes her head confused and lopes back to the castle. Who knows what could of happened to Ali Jay.
