there's still promise lingering on the air
like sick perfume from last night's affair
whisper wordthings into anxious ear
blink sleep from your eyes until you see it clear
it seems there's secret-telling here

above thoughts mingle with desire
behind judges judge and lovers admire
but you still keep moving on
you still keep singing your sad and pretty song
tinker twinkle linger on

the times the way you feel send flowers to yourself
must be married to the times your love is dusty on the shelf
you sick sad pretty elf
thing you
take a step back a breath slack lack and change your view
be mindful of the everchanging new
its all we have

the buzzing of electormagnetic fields
drills holes into my peace of mind
They're greedy here my thought process being mined
this feeling of
crisis of
running out of
time

my elbows freeze up in electric air
conditioning
my neck stiff shoulders slump
forward and my self esteem slouched
give up plop down on the couch
keeps us unproductive
my lungs feel hollow fatigued down-let
as if I've smoked too many cigarettes

I think it's time to get
out of this lab
rat
race
mentality
brotherly love hate not fatality
line blurs between need and fantasy
the nights been taken back by who but taken where
take back the night the day take back the air
