Amy walked in with Mort.

Mort closed the door behind them and hugged Amy close against himself, his ribs digging into her lightly "There. Nice and quiet."

Amy nodded and ran her fingers across the keys on a piano. "This place is pretty up kept. Didn't think about how well the band room was going to be in a mutant school."

"Can you play?" Mort said, leaning over her slightly to look at her fingers running over the keys.

"Piano? No, no no...Fingers always got sprained." Amy explained, pressing down a random key.

"You don't have muscles to sprain now. Try to play; I'm sure you can so it now" Mort smiled and kissed the back of her head lightly.

"No thanks....I wasn't much of a pianist as it were." Amy looked at him, "What about you?"

"I get an ill feeling whenever I touch the piano keys" Mort laughed lightly "Something to do with 'tinkling the ivories'; also I can't feel the keys so I can't play by touch."

"If you can't play...and I'm bad at it, why come in here?" Amy asked.

Mort hugged her from behind and laughed softly in her ear "Well it's quiet... and just because I can't play the piano doesn't mean I can't do other things."

"Yea? Like what?" Amy asked.

Mort kissed her cheek "I can try and sing for you if you try and play the piano."

Amy smiled and sat herself down on the chair, resting her fingers on the keys. She started off on a simple string of notes, just to warm up.

Mort chuckled lightly and went over to the centre of the room. He listened to the notes for a few seconds before his pupils winked out and he began to sing "Old man river" in a deep voice that seemed almost unnatural.

Amy was starting to get the hang of it and kept playing. She tried not ot smile and giggle at Mort's deep tones.

Mort was blushing lightly though no one could tell, he continued to sing as Amy got more confident with her piano playing.

Amy smiled and kept going, messing up a little on a few notes.

mort kept singing however, remembering every word of the song. It was the only song he knew all the words for though; when he was sleeping on the streets this man next to him used to sing it. Ever since then Mort couldn't help but sing it himself.

"You sing very nicely." Amy smiled, continuing her piano playing to fit the song better.

Mort blushed "I've had time to practise..." He scratched his head and walked over to Amy "You're getting better the longer you play."

"Funny how my fingers don't cramp up. Then again...I don't have any muscles to cramp." Amy smiled, stopping her playing and getting up from her seat. "Who would of thought you could sing though? I don't mean that in a bad way of course. Reminded me of another certain famous skeleton that I know of."

"The guy from Iron Maiden?" Mort asked, nuzzling the back of her neck gently. "I can sing because there's nothing to restrict me from moving my voice up and down... and I can sing higher and lower than anyone else."

Amy smiled, "No silly. Jack Skeleton from 'Nightmare before Christmas' of course."

Mort chuckled and nuzzled her neck softly "I don't have the suit for it." He moved around and sat beside her on the piano bench, leaning against her gently.

"You should look into it. I think you would look rather nice in a suit." Amy mentioned, looking up at him as he leaned against her mushy frame.

"Maybe next halloween" Mort chuckled, nuzzling her soft cheek lightly and smiling to himself.

"Why so...touchy, Mortimer?" Amy asked him.

Mort blushed and pulled back at once, clutching his knees and holding them close. "I-I'm sorry..." he said at once "I guess I'm just... happy."

"Well thats good!" Amy smiled, "Bout time you cheered up."

"You happy?" Mort asked, looking sideways at Amy and hoping.

"I guess, yea." Amy replied, standing up.

"You guess?" Mort said, turning around and staring up at Amy.

"Yup, heard you sing after all, didn't I?" Amy smiled down at him.

Mort nodded and smiled lightly at her as he got up "You play piano very well..."

"Thanks a lot." Amy smiled.

Mort smiled at her and gently hugged her, then blushed and pulled back slightly "I'm sorry... I keep getting clingy."

"I'm used to it." Amy rolled her eyes and elbowed him a little jokingly.

Mort blushed gently as his rib went out of place where she'd elbowed him "Amy..." he whispered softly, staring at the floor.

"Hm...oh...what's wrong?" Amy asked, not meaning to make him feel bad.

"Nothing's wrong..." Mort said, stroking his smooth skull slowly "I just wanted to say... You're the best thing that's ever happened to me... ever."

Amy's cheeks boiled a little, "Oh be quiet..."

Mort leant over and kissed her cheek softly "It's true... and that's why I will stick by yourside no matter what ok? So long as you want me there" He didn't know why he was saying this; he just had a sudden urge to tell Amy that nothing but her word could drive him away.

"Thanks...your so sweet." Amy kept her boiling blush and turned away nervously.

Mort blushed as well and looked at the floor "I just wish I had met you before we were transformed."

"You know what....I'm not sure that I would see you the way that I do if I hadn't transformed." Amy explained.

Mort hung his head slightly "Yeah... if you hadn't been transformed you wouldn't have looked twice at me."

"Yes I would've...but hten I woulda booked it." Amy stuck her tongue out.

Mort rubbed his arm nervously, staring at the floor "Yeah... I'm scary."

"Yup." Amy poked, "But your just a softie"

"So soft I'm hardly there" Mort sighed, poking himself and nuzzling Amy "You think you could have ever talked to me?"

"Nope. Hey...I'll be honest." Amy sighed, standing

Mort shrugged against and leant against the piano "I would have kept staying here either way... It's just nice knowing there's someone here who actual cares about me."

"Don't be so dramatic." Amy rolled her eyes, poking his rib.

"Oh you know me, very dramatic" Mort said, pulling his own skull off and holding it in his palm as if he was reciting hamlet.

Amy smirked and watched. She leaned over and pecked him on the forehead.

Mort blushed softly and poped his head back onto his neck "It's surprising how much spare time you have on your hands when you don't eat isn't it."

"Or go to the bathroom or shower." Amy added.

"Or..." Mort's eyes glazed over for a second before he snapped back to reality "When you get back to normal you're going to have some trouble readjusting."

Amy shrugged, "Not as much as you will."

Mort let out a sudden barking laugh, then covered his mouth and shook with laughter. When he finally forced it down he managed to force through "Amy, I trust you when you tell me I might feel again... with your help. But I am never going to get my skin back... It doesn't want to stay on."

Amy smirked, "Good point, good point."

Mort smiled weakly and nuzzled Amy "So what now? Keep playing music?"

"Only if you want to. I'm just kinda....blah today." Amy admitted.

Mort nodded gently and hugged her from behind "What do you want to do then? Take another crack at the making you human thing? Or is that too painful..."

Amy held herself and tucked her head between her knees as she sat in one of the chairs.

Mort blinked and stared at her "What you doing?" he asked, watching her as she tucked her head between her knees.

"Sitting. Why?" Amy asked, lifting her head.

"Just... interesting way to sit. You look like you're going threw a plane crash" Mort chuckled lightly.

Smirking, she added, "Well....you can get into very interesting poses without any bones, you know." Amy brought in some sexual innuendo as if on purpose.

Mort chuckled and pulled off his own head, slowly rolling it over and over in his hands "Same could be said if you have nothing but bones. Don't we make a pair? Or a whole at least."

"Quite." Amy noted, plainly.

Mort pouted slightly and his head on the piano so he could watch Amy.

"Well.....this is a bore." Amy admitted.

Mort tried to nod but his spine just did a strange little bob "You want to go do something?"

"Sure." Amy replied, getting up.

"Ummm..." Mort said, getting up and thinking as he put himself together "I think there's a basketball court outside."
