Del stepped out of the teleporter with a snoozing Waya in her arms. She and Kari had just taken the handy two way device directly to the Baxter Building where Sue Richards often babysat the little ones. "I'm gonna go lay her down." She told Kari as she held open the closet door so she could pass with the boys.
Kari passed Del with her two little twins on both sides of her, holding her hands tightly. They were clumsy little things but managed to walk by themselves. "Alright, I'll see you later. We're going to go into the Rec room to make 'get well' cards for Daddy." She looked down at her boys, "How's that sound?" Kari nodded to Del as she headed to
The Recreation Room
Del smiled after them and opted for the elevator to she and Kurt's room rather than the stairs. She defiantly didn't want to disturb Waya's blissful slumber.
A while later
Will emerged from the lower levels. He'd found a shower and some clothes along the way and looked decidedly healthier now that he wasn't strapped to a gurney in Genocia. He needed to find Kari, he wanted her opinion on this whole baby thing.
Del was on her way downstairs to check up on Will and their littelest arrival. As she came down the staurs she found that she didn't have to travel as far as she thought she would "Will," she said heading up to him "I went threw Waya's newborn stuff and figured you could use it. The clothes aren't much, just what could be considered unisex. I bet Kari has some boy clothes."
"Yes I was just looking for her."
Will said taking the bag and peering in to find a nice little "suprise you have a baby" starter kit" "Have you seen her?"
"I think she took the boys to the rec room after we got back."
Del told him.
"Thanks."
Will said and started for the rec room. He seemed rather preoccupied.
"Look, Will..."
Del said stopping him "Kurt's got Waya, I have a few minuets if you want to talk."
Will thought it over and replied "Yeah, actually, I have no idea where to start... I kind of thought there would be a woman involved when I became a father, someone like-" He trailed off suddenly, a long slender English vision intruding his thoughts.
"On that note."
Del said with a smile, by the look in his eyes she had a pretty good idea of who he was currently thinking. Together they went looking for Kari.
A week had passed since the incident at Genocia and things had been mercifully quiet since. News reports stated that the the whole thing had been been caused by a riot which resulted in a prison break. The Genocian government was beseeching the world to aid in the capture of 27 extremely dangerous mutant criminals. There had been many more than that escape but the faculty where figuring that ether the Genocians had recaptured a great many of their slaves or they where trying to diminish the whole situation and recoup their losses. All in all it didn't look like they where coming after the new arrivals any time soon.
Emma and Scott Summers had declared the planed reception for the new arrivals was to be pushed back a week. She wouldn't give anyone an answer as to why but the general idea was that she perhaps thought it was too soon. Now that Friday graced them again she decreed that classes would be dismissed early. She'd said nothing about the reception in her telepathic report but encouraged the students to use this extra time to study rather than goof off. She was unimpressed with their grades as a whole and would be meeting with the faculty throwout the course of the day. So far it looked like there wouldn't be a party.
13:00 hours, class dismissed. The bell rings.
Moth had taken to the class schedule like a light bulb. She was a little behind in her studies due to her short enslavement in Genocia but she was quickly gaining speed and catching up to the others and had every intention of taking Mis. Summers's advice to study. As she hurried out of Mis. Smith's lecture hall she knocked some dust off her wings as she slung her book bag over her shoulder.
Joss had been quieter than usual over the last week. He'd not told anyone that he'd spotted Morgan among the escaping mutants. He'd spent the last week telling himself that it wasn't her, that the encounter had happened too fast and at too great a distance for him to be sure it was her. So far he had been unsuccessful. After all their eyes had met and considering that she'd bolted the moment she recognized him, he was pretty sure he wasn't mistaken.
As he came from the lecture hall he caught a whiff of Moth's dust and immediately began sneezing. His muzzle was filled with the fine powder and sent tufts of it rocketing threw both sets of nostrils. The ones on his forehead emitted a strange awkward sounding tone that sent vibrations thrumming threw him and the surrounding area.
Amy's body rippled all over from the vibrations emitted from Joss. "Whoa-aaoh..." she muttered slowly, unable to ignore how incredibly strange that felt. "Gesundheit." she said to her bat-like classmate.
Moth saw what she'd done and approached to apologize but Joss's vibra-sneezes where causing more dust to flutter off her wings creating a rather dense cloud. "I'm sorry! So sorry!"
"Get away from me!"
Joss snapped and continued sneezing. He tried to get away from the fog but he couldn't find his bearings with his head vibrating.
Amy grabbed Moth and pulled her back, doing what she could to help in this situation. She had never heard Joss be so demanding before.
"Sorry! sorry sorry sorry!"
Moth babbled as Amy pulled her away from Joss. His vibrations where sending more and more dust into the air until finally she just ran the other way.
Joss was still sneezing, unable to get Moth's damn dust out of his muzzle. He couldn't gather his bearings ether, as the sound waves bounced back on him it only disoriented him further.
Arthur emerged from the door leading to the red room, blinking and staring at the scene in front of him; Moth was being dragged away by Amy and Joss seemed to be having a sneezing fit. He stepped forward slowly, unsure what to do in this strange scene.
"Just stop moving!"
Amy demanded, seizing her arms firmly. She had to admit that the situation was a bit hilarious...sh
e would save her giggles for later.
"I have to get away from him!" Moth exclaimed "I'm just making it worse!" She was still struggling to get away from Amy and outside where her dust couldn't hurt anyone.
"What is going on out here?" Del asked coming up behind Arthur. She saw the hall filled with dust, Moth fighting to get away from Amy and Joss staggering around, letting loose sneezes that where vibrating the hall. She stepped forward to grab Joss and get him to fresh air when she herself got a nose full of the dust and began sneezing also. She however wasn't as disoriented as Joss but her clothes and hair shook with the vibrations.
"Relax!" Amy urged to Moth. "It's an accident! Chill!"
"NO!" Moth shouted "Don't put me in the freezer! I won't do it again!"
"No one achoo is putting you ACHOO in a achoo! freezer!" Del managed between sneezes. She grabbed Joss by the shoulder and began pulling him in the opposite direction of the cloud.
joss was relieved to feel someone pulling him back, he couldn't hear from the vibrations but his echolocation told him is was Mis. Smith.
Arthur prodded his head for a moment, almost as if he was waking up Locks. Jerking into action at once, Locks formed into a massive wave of hair on his head and began to fan the dust away from Del and Joss, giving them enough time to just clear their noses.
"Seruru, everything is fine! Take deep breaths!" Amy said, trying to calm her down a bit.
Moth had at least realized that her wings were fluttering and as she took Amy's advice to breath they began to slow and eventually stopped. "I'm sorry." She told Amy "You lot aren't gonna toss me in tha coolar. I know that..." Her heart was still fluttering and her anxiety was probably causing the rapid dust production. "I'm calm now." Though the waver in her voice wouldn't quite instill confidence it looked like she was done panicking. "What's chill out mean?"
"It's slang for 'relax'." Amy explained, letting go of her arms. "Seems I'm immune to you." she pointed out, not too surprised actually. Nothing really effected her because of her mutation.
"Oh..." Moth said finally calming down enough that her dust production was nearly halted "I feel so stupid... but my dust dosen't effect you?"
"I probably dissolve your dust molecules before they reach my sinus." Amy explained, hoping that wasn't too scientific for the girl.
"Josh hates me now." Moth said leaving little dusty trails in her fuzz as she wiped her eyes. Having no idea that she'd been mistaking Joss' name for the whole week.
"Well- his name is actually 'Joss'....sort of like 'floss'" Amy explained. "And don't take it personally, he has been a bit tense since his girlfriend booked it last year."
"Very tense" Arthur coughed as the last of the dust left the room, Locks curling back up on his head again.
"But really- he shouldn't have snapped at you like that. It was an accident." Amy said, comforting the poor new girl.
Crys strolled in, looking up from her gameboy as she felt a chill. "Wha...Why are all the windows open in here?"
"Moth had an accident" Arthur explained to Crys, a small smile appearing on his lips as he saw her "Got dust everywhere. Joss was sneezing his nose off so we opened the windows to clear the room."
"Oh. Ok." Crys replied and fixed her eyes back down on the gameboy screen. She had to get the games leveled up to a point that would work best if she pulled anything out
Moth finished wiping away her tears and snuffed out the last of her crying. "Joss... well that certainly makes sense..." No wonder he hated her, she didn't even know who he was. "What happened with his girlfriend?"
Amy hadn't a clue. She looked at Arthur, "Want to take that one?" she offered, thinking maybe he knew a bit more.
"I just know she left" Arthur said, raising his arms up in defence and frowning slightly "It's not like he'll tell anyone what's been going on."
"Yea- we just got back from a mission and that was the last most of us saw of her. Morgan actually was the main reason we got back to this time period if I recall correctly." Amy said, placing a hand on her gooey chin.
Moth's arms dropped to her sides "You traveled threw time?" Her Australian accent made time sound like toyme. "What period?" Her eyes where bright and curious.
"Wild west" Arthur said, wiping a bit of Dust from Locks "We weren't there long... but damn this school can make you do some freaky stuff." He shook his head slightly, starting to practically preen himself to get rid of all the dust.
"OH like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid?" Moth asked "Dock Holiday and Wyatt Earp? The James Younger Gang?" She seemed positively a twitter at the idea of them having actually stepped foot in some dusty western town. She'd read almost every Louis LaMoure novel and seen almost every western, her favorites being the Aussy classics Man from Snowy River.
"Yeeah... kinda like that" Arthur said slowly, surprised that Moth was taking such an interest in this "You... like western films Moth?" He blinked, frowned and said "What's your real name again? I feel wierd calling you Moth."
"Seruru." Amy chimed, having been the first to call her by that name since they met. It was such a lovely name...especially compared to 'moth.'
"Seruru?" Arthur asked, looking at Moth... or rather Seruru for confirmation. "Where do you come from exactly?" it was a strange name to say the least, he was starting to take a little bit more interest in their new comers. After all, it had been a bit hectic since their arrival.
"Queensland Australia." Moth replied
"Oh yeah, the accent" Arthur laughed, barely flinching as Locks poked him in the side of the head as if to point out his idiocy. That didn't fully explain the name however... unless she was one of those... what were they called? The native Australians. Aboriginees?
"So-" Amy began, hoping to break the silence. "Anyone up for a danger room session?" she suggested randomly.
"Ain't we supposed to have a teacher with us?" Moth asked "I would hate for something to go wrong." She'd not used the danger room yet and had trepidations about doing so.
"I'm sure we can find someone?" Amy lifted her shoulders. "Unless you two had a different idea?"
"I'm sure if we find Del then she'll run one for us" Arthur said, looking around at the doors that she had walked through moments ago "She likes her training after all."
"She left with Joss after I-..." Moth trailed off there. "She went outside."
"Well that was a long while ago, I'm sure he is normal by now." Amy gestured to the door, "We can go check."
Tobias wheeled himself in slowly, still not used to the whole idea of a wheelchair, let alone using his 'arms' to crank the wheels. "Hey, any of you see Iggy?"
"Can't say I have, Tobias." Amy explained, lifting her shoulders.
"Doesn't this just beat all" Arthur muttered under his breath in a very bad texas accent, shaking his head and rubbing his chin. Things had been strange around here lately. They usually were, but everything had felt surprisingly empty.
"Would you like help finding her?" Moth asked Tobias. She wasn't interested in a danger room session, not yet. it sounded far too dangerous.
"It would be appreciated." Tobias told her with a nod. He hadn't seen Iggy all day, he was worried about his friend
