Eliza walked in the door, heading towards the planes "Which one are we gonna take?" she mumbled.
"The blackbird."
Waya answered as she came in behind her "It's the best one to acomidate us and anyone we'll have to bring along."
Eliza nodded and walked towards the Blackbird, hopping into it's cargo doors before they had even opened up properly.
Rhydian walked up and opened the cargo doors, walking up the ramp and quickly getting into the co-pilot seat. Since Waya was the one who graduated the course,t hat technically made him the co-pilot. He put the head set on and started the flight sequence.
Kale led her in, letting go of their hand grip before anyone could see.
The twins led Antimony in and towards the jet.
Eliza sat into her seat, belting herself in and closing her eyes. She took a few deep breaths and finally said "Where are we going anyway?"
"London."
Waya answered "His name is Jeremy and he's in St. Mary's hospital.
JUunior slipped into his seat and strapped himself in.
"Jeremy, St. Mary's, London"
Eliza repeated, nodding with each word "Hope there isn't much resistance."
"You blokes do know that it is bout 3:00 am in London at the moment."
Junior said bringing it to everyone's attention. "And I doubt the front desk will allow ten flamboyantly clad mutants to check down a coma victm. Despite how sexy we look."
"No harm in asking."
Waya said. She'd not thought about the time differance. With an image inducer some of them could appear as concerned family diring visiting hours while the others planned to take Jeremy threw the window from the jet. Now she had to rethink her plan. She decided to ditch the visiting hours bit and just teleport in. Damn, she'd hoped she'd get to do a little acting just once.
Veronica sat down next to Kale, sad that he wasn't holding her hand anymore. She did smile though. It seemed that she had caught him finally.
Rhydian looked over his shoulder. "Everyone strapped in?"
"Im good."
Eliza called out "And if worst comes to the worst, someone could hit Kale and get us all in."
Kale raised a brow and shook his head, "Say whuh?"
The twins made sure Antimony was strapped in before they both were. "Check." they said as one.
"get you in the hospital, you heal and sneak out while we all go searching"
Eliza explained, turning to face Kale.
"Wait wait wait....Ahm gonna heal some random kid in a coma?"
Kale asked. He has went to take a shower earlier and didn't hear much about the mission.
"There's a kid in a coma.. who apparently can phone in his sleep cause that call was from him. Im not sure exactly what we've got to do though, I hink just get him out of there."
Eliza explained, scratching her chin.
"He sounded frightened."
Waya said buckeling herelf into her seat. She flipped a few switches on teh console "There may be police or guards we have to bypass. But it would be much easier healing him in the hospital rather than thrying to get him out while he's still in a coma."
"First things first, we'll need to get there and then we can survey the situation. Who knows? Maybe they're just watching him cuz he's got too much power for himself to handle."
Rhydian suggested with a shrug. He flipped a few switches and looked at Waya, "Ready when you are, Captain."
"So...a kid in a coma messaged us...ok fine, I'll buy it. But it's going to be guarded? Normally if someone is going to be brought out of a coma, it's applauded...wh
y would someone try to stop us? Doesn't seem like a good idea to me." Kale explained.
"There has to be a reason you know. Other than the calling our phone thing we don't really know what he's capable of. Maybe he did something when his mutation surfaced and that's why he's got guards." Rhydian told Kale. "Until we get there, let's try not to speculate too much."
"Could be a trap." Kale ended
"That's true. Or we could just save this kid's life." Rhydian added
"We'll just have to be careful." Waya said flipping a few more switches on the console. She nodded to Rhydian, telling him it was alright to take off.
Rhydian nodded and ignited the engines. He eased the throttle forward and aimed the blackbird toward the cliff exit.
Feels kinda exciting Eliza thought, biting back the urge to bounce up and down in her seat Our first mission out as X-men...
The twins leaned back in their seat, "You're quiet Antimony....are you alright?"
Veronica looked at Kale, "So ummm, why the change of attitude all of a sudden, Kale?"
Kale shook his head, "Nah, it's nothing, babe."
Veronica arched a perfectly plucked eyebrow in suspicion and shrugged. "If you say so."
Kale leaned back in his seat and took a deep breath, he hated flying.
Veronica looked over at Kale and smiled reassuringly. "We'll be there before you know it. It's only a jump over the ocean."
"I'm just thinking," Antimony replied. "We're leaving the mansion in the hands of the security systems, so it'll be perfectly safe from invasion, but what if someone else comes along who needs help?" She rubbed her eyes and flicked her fingers. "I'm leaving an end open back, just in case."
"What? Flying is no biggie." Kale lied through his teeth, "I just think the ocean should be rode on....not jumped over."
"Right...." Veronica replied with a smirk. She gave him a wink and leaned closer. "Your secret's safe with me, surfer-boy."
Eliza looked out the nearest window, smiling slightly to herself. Yes there were fewer X-men here than usual and yes if they came up against anything major they might have a problem but this was exciting for her.
Kale kept his idle position but turned his head to look our the window.
"Ya'll ready?" Waya asked slightly ignoring Kle's trepidation about flying.
Rhydian gave Waya the thumbs up. The engines were primed and they were already moving down the runway. There was no going back now. In a few seconds they'd be out and in the air.
Veronica smiled as Waya asked if they were ready. She simply loved flying, she was just a little disappointed that it wouldn't be a long flight. She knew how fast this jet could go, they'd be there in absolutely no time at all.
Eliza looked around at Kale and sighed gently. She leant over as far as she could, which was very far since she could streach in every dimension, and tapped Kale on the shoulder. "Try healing yourself, you might not feel too bad."
Junior looked down at his feet. They where bare due to his paws. He flexed his toes against the floor listening to the tapping sound his claws made. He wasn't one for flying ether but concentrating on his feet and how they where connected firmly to the floor eased his tension.
Kale was gripping tightly onto the arm rests of his seat, "No babe," he said to Eliza, "I'm fine."
"Ahh...beauty." Jayden said.
"And brains." Jaden nodded.
"Ok" Eliza sighed "But if it gets too bad you should. We dont want your nerves shot before we've even landed."
As the jet lifted off the ground, Kale asked, "Jaden?"
Both twins turned around in their seat, "Yea?"
"The hypnotising one." Kale clarified.
"What's up?" Jaden asked.
"Could you-..." Kale hinted.
"Oh! Right." Jaden's pupils grew wide and white before Kale suddenly passed out.
"Or that" Eliza giggled, staring at Kale's sleeping figure "How strong is your hypnosis?"
The twins looked at one another deviantly before one spoke, "Want to-"
"-find out?" the other finished.
Eliza scowled at them slightly "I still remember the time that you had me hop around the roof in my underwear, I dont trust you."
The twins grinned wide in their little twisted way, snickering a little.
Veronica looked at Kale worriedly as he was knocked unconscious. She scwoled at Jaden. "Now that's just no fair! Now who am I going to talk to for this little flight?"
"Me?" Eliza said, smiling sweetly at Veronica.
Veronica looked at Eliza and smiled. "Alright! What have you been up to Liz?"
"Looking after that guy in the the lab, he's asleep alot of them time though" Eliza sighed, streaching her back "Working on experiments."
"What guy in the lab?" Veronica asked her curiously. She had been away for a few weeks on vacation after all. Had she really missed that much?
"Remember that guy who could be cut by a gust of wind? Well he found out that he can also transform himself into a gas, problem is that he didn't know how to turn back so he's spent atleast four months reappearing" Eliza sighed "He's not exactly useful at the moment."
"That's weird...but then again, we're all about weird at the Xavier Institute, aren't we?" Veronica said, laughing at her own joke
"Wierd is normal and normal starts to get wierd. I mean we dont so much as laugh anymore if Logan gets surprised by the toaster and we have to buy a new one but when we started to get insurance calls, which stopped after we explained how much damage we can do to the mansion apparently, everyone thought it was the funniest thing yet." Eliza giggled.
"Yeah I suppose you're right." Veronica said with a shrug. "So what is that guy's story anyway?"
"The guy we're going too or the guy currently half formed in a tank in the lab?" Eliza asked, staring out of the window for a moment to check where they were.
"The tank guy. I don't really remember him much at all." Veronica said truthfully.
"Just some kid" Eliza said, staring out of the window "He's not very nice though... whenever I go in to check on him he either takes a pass at me or says he's leaving when he goes back to normal. Little git..."
"So what's wrong with him making a pass at you, Liz? It's not like you've got a boyfriend, right?" Veronica asked her curiously, not really caring about her friend's feelings or anything
"It gets annoying" Eliza huffed "First few times, slightly charming and flattering, now I try not to turn my back on him."
Kale twitched a little
The twins yawned and stretched outward together. They whispered something to eachother before snickering and returning to their idle, sitting stance.
The lights of London glowed orange in the mist rolling off the river. "We're nearing the city." Waya said
Without realising it Eliza was humming "Rule Britania" under his breath as she gazed out at the city of London "Which hospital are we going to?"
"St. Mathews." Waya answered adjusting her instruments
"Big one, bottom left" Eliza said, pointing at the ground "I went there once with my mum and dad for a new treatment they'd made."
"Take her down." Waya told Rhydian
Rhydian nodded and switched the thrusters to hover mode. It took a few minutes for the engines to reallign themselves and he began to land the Blackbird, vertically.
"Are we landing out side St. Mathews or on the heli pad, I cant see" Eliza said, squinting threw the window.
"The Helipad." Waya told them "We're not going to be here long enough for them to need ti any way."
"Hopefully." Rhydian added as he set the jet down. He engaged the landing gear and the loading ramp descended. "We go in, we get out. That's basically it, right?"
"That's all we have so far" Eliza sighed, getting up from her seat slowly.
The other twin, Jayden woke Kale up.
"Nice to see you're up sleepy head" Eliza giggled, staring at Kale.
"There yet?" Kale asked while yawning.
"Just landing" Eliza smiled "We're in St. Mathews, London."
"Nice." Kale leaned back, refusing to look out the window.
Veronica thumped Kale on the shoulder. "And I thought surfer-boys were supposed to be tough."
"I'd forgotten how fast this bird goes when she sets her mind to it," Antimony remarked, patting the ship gently. She secretly wished that she had finished her own pilot training, but then they would have been barrel rolling and flying into mountains, so maybe it was for the best.
The twins turned and gazed at Antimony as she patted the ship, she was so elegant and beautiful.
Kale gave a smug grin, "Trust me babe, I am."
Veronica batted her eyelashes at hima nd offered him a hand up after she stood. "And I'm sure you'll prove it very soon."
Antimony stood as V did, swishing her tail idely and opening a peephole just to double check that the mansion was okay before she stepped off the ship. She closed it casually and gestured to the twins. "C'mon, let's go!" She grinned.
Kale took her hand is if it were no big deal and headed off the ship.
The twins ran after Antimony.
Veronica moved closer to him as they walked down the ramp. "You know Kale, you could at least act like you enjoy my company."
Eliza stood up and streached lazily when everone was gone, slightly embarresed to do it infront of people because her costume was so tight. She followed the others off the hospital, feeling slightly nervous about going on a real mission.
