4. Pay Back is a Bitch

We suck at Life but We’re Wicked Cool

.:Chapter 5:. Aaron
Holy Shit! It’s Blue!

I was having a dream of going back to Ireland and seeing some of my old friends. Since London and Ireland were near each other, when I was unable to see Eva over the holidays, I would spend it with Chrissy; although Eva knew Chrissy because they were cousins, I still spent more time with Chrissy and knew more of the same people. I saw all of my old friends. There was Steph, Lori, Conner, Damion, and all of the other people I knew. Then I saw flash backs of my last visit there. I started to twitch in my sleep. Then I heard Erik.

“Eva, hurry! I think she’s waking up,” my, oh so lovely, brother screamed right next to my ear. I just ignored him. However, I did hear Eva yell at him.

“No shit! You’re the one screaming right next to her!” I just continued to ignore the two dimwits. At least, I tried until Erik started to poke me in the side. After a few minutes I got fed up with him.

“WHAT THE BLOODY-owchie. In too much pain to care,” I said as my head throbbed with pain.

“MOVE IT! Coming through,” I heard Eva say as she carried the drink on a small metal serving bored like waitresses do and put it in front of me.

“What’s that?” I asked, barely lifting an eyelid to observe the glasses blue filling, because I was too lazy.

“It’s to help your hangover,” Eva said to me like it was the simplest thing in the world. I slowly got up, grasped the glass and eyed it. Since my head felt as if it had been smashed against the ground several times it took me a while to realize that the concoction that she wanted to thrust down my throat was blue.

“HOLY SHIT! IT’S BLUE!” I said so loud out of surprise that even I cringed.

“No fucking shit!” Eva cried. I started to think that staying up until god knows how long being irritated by my brother wasn’t a good thing for her or me. Can I say bitchy? Makes me want to skin Erik alive. Well nothing I could do at the moment. I just shrugged mentally.

“Well, Bottoms up!” I said and started to drink the blue liquid. After the first initial taste I realized that it tasted really good. I started to chug it. I liked my lips when I was finished. Then I noticed the picture I had laying on my desk. I started to gag. It was a picture of the night Eva, Nathan, Gabriel, Erik and I went to Kyle’s party. Eva and Gabriel were smashed. Since both were so freaking drunk neither of them remember that they had a full make out session at the party. Did I mention that it was together? Erik and I, Nathan could not be found at the moment, found it so funny that we took a picture of the two. So that was what was lying on my desk, a picture of Gabriel and Eva making out. Luckily Erik saw the picture before Eva did and grabbed it before she caught on to what was going on. Thank god for the fact she can be so clueless at times. Once I knew that the picture was out of sight I relaxed. I wanted more of this blue stuff.

“Where’s the pitcher?” I asked in the middle of the silence. I got very funny looks from the people in my room. It was a very good sugary, blue liquid.
“O-Kay? I’m officially weirded out. Time for school!” Eva said severally creeped out. I slowly scooted closer to Erik, took the picture, and ran up stairs to hide it from Eva and change clothes. While I was up in the attic, my second room, I put on a black tank top and some light jeans with a pair of cleats, with smokey eye shadow and pulled my hair back. When I came downstairs Eva had on a long sleeved, light grayish ivory shirt and a black mini skirt with ankle boots. Her hair was down, and she had applied simple black eye liner and mascara. Before I hoped in the car, I grabbed several thermoses filled to the brim with her marshmallow, blueberry, liquid lime Jell-o, non-alcoholic blue tropical margarita mix, as well as seven to ten other things which included two or four different spices that she pulled off of the rack randomly to make “Eva’s yummy special mix.” As we started to drive back to school my thoughts went from pigs flying and walking snowmen to how I left things in Ireland. If I wasn’t with Eva, I was with Chrissy. The three of us had always been together, but since two years ago I had let my connections in Ireland fade. Besides talking to Chrissy once or twice a week, I haven’t spoken to anyone there. I truly missed them. I have had conversations with Chrissy and Eva about it, but it doesn’t change anything. I never told my brothers, Nathan, or any ones else except my two best friends. I think it is time to face my fears. Yes, I have issues in Ireland. Not that I didn’t have issues here, but no matter how much I am scared and hurt I need to face Ireland. I know that Chrissy and I have been talking about us coming up to Ireland or her coming to Indiana. Then suddenly Eva’s phone went off. Eva answered her phone and put it on speaker.

“HELL-O PEOPLES!” A very familiar voice said.

“Chrissy!” Eva and I cried in union. Speak of the devil and the devil shall appear.

“Hey!” Eva said. “What’s the occasion?” she said continuing. At this point, we had everyone’s attention.

“Guess what my mom said!” Chrissy said, taunting us.

“What!” I exclaimed hoping that it was what I think it was about.

“I’m coming up!” Chrissy, Eva and I screamed our lungs off.
“Ohm Gosh! We have to get everything ready! When are you coming up?” I said exited

“Wait, wait. She said that either I could come up there or everyone could come over here to Ireland!” Wait, did she just say what I think she said. That would mean that I would get to see everyone again, but I would have to deal with my problems with my brothers and Nathan around. Well I guess that I could not hide it from them forever.

“Okay. We’ll figure everything out later. Were going to school right now.” Erik said into the phone.

“Shut up, Erik, I wanna talk to Chrissy about something.” I then grabbed the phone out of Eva hands, took it off of speaker and started whispering something into the phone.

“Hey, Chrissy?” I said in a hush whisper.

“Yea, Aaron?” I took a deep breath this was a large step for me.

“Tell your mom that we will come up to Ireland this summer.” There was dead silence on the phone for quite a while before she spoke.

“Are you sure that you wont to do this, Aaron? We have talked about how much has changed since you have been here.”

“I know that, but, Chrissy, I need to fix things. I miss my friends, the life I had, seeing you, and I don’t like how thing ended. I need to do this. If I don’t do it I won’t be able to move.”

“If you are sure about it, okay. I know that several people miss you around here. Not to mention that since you stopped coming it has been really dull. And now both you and Eva are coming.”

“You said all of us. If Eva and I come so does Erik, Gabriel and Nathan.”

“Ohhh. I finally get to meet the famous Nathan. Eva has told me so much about him.” I am so going to shoot Eva one of these days. That or burn her slowly.

“The two of you are evil. I can’t wait for this summer. It is going to be great and so much fun. I will deal with everything here in Indiana while you get everything ready for us when we get to Ireland.”

“Yup. See you soon. Oh, and isn’t today the day that the football team and soccer team get sold off?”

“Yea it is. However, I refuse to let that ruin my day. See you in two weeks.” As I shut the phone and squealed. The day just passed by, and soon Eva and I were headed to Fourth period.
“Finally, fourth period.” Eva sighed I looked at her. I don’t think that she remembered that I was supposed to be sold off today. All football, cheerleaders, and soccer players were being sold off for some fundraiser. All eyes watched the clock anxiously, waiting for the bell.

“Will all of the Football players and Cheerleaders come to the cafeteria at this time.” I wanted to strangle Eva at thins point because she did not remember.

“There aren’t that many players on the football team so why not just call both teams down at the same –“

“Will all of the Soccer players come to the cafeteria at this time.”

“About fricking time!” Someone from the back screamed as I got up and left the classroom. I walked all the way to the cafeteria and waited for everyone else. Students gathered around four or five, no wait…four long cafeteria tables put against each other horizontally, making a very long runway.

“Okay! Come on up Ladies and Gents. First off, we have this lovely young woman…..”

“Next up is Amber! This lovely young she-devil is up for auction starting at 5-“ Brandon, the news desk announcer was cut off with a sharp pinch and a cry of pain.
“FINE! 10 dollars. Do I hear 10?” Guys everywhere cried out bets as if judging a piece of low quality beef. “95 bucks from the Baseball Coach Going Once-“
“100!”
“125!”
“150!”
“I heard 150! Going once, going twice. SOLD! To the young nerd in the orange furby sweater!” Brandon screeched. Amber looked viciously at Eva as she handed the poor nerd a hundred. Nathan and I shared a look and tried to hide our laughter.

“NEXT! We have the lovely Ms. Aaron! Now who would like to purchase time with this fine, fine damsel?” Okay, Brandon had a thing for me. I would be a total idiot if I hadn’t notice. I mean even the teachers know he likes me. “We start our purchase with 50 dollars.50 big Bucks!” You would be amazed at how many guys raised fistfuls of cash... It was surprising. I wasn’t that good looking. “50!”
“58!”
“106!”
“149!”
“158!” Brandon cried. Man, even he was bidding and he was the guy who took the bets.
“205!”
“326!”
“350!”
“400!”
“419!”
“428!” Amber glared at us, mainly me. Amber didn’t even get half of what I went for. Hey it wasn’t my fault the male population liked me better, and I am the one that is usually blackmailing them.
“475!” The final offer came in.
“475 going once, going twice.” I watched in amusement as the people and guys started to look for cash. I looked at my teammates with an awed expression. I finally turned to Nathan. “I’m not that great. What is wrong with everyone?” All he did was smile, one that sent shiver down my spine. I swear that I don’t like him, and shook his head. I turned my attention back to the biding.
“SOLD! For $475.00 to Ms. Dementer!” Brandon cried in amazement. I just looked at Eva as if she had just slept with James. She just bought me for $475 dollars.

“Next up is Joshua the Quarterback! We’ll start off at-“

“475! YOU bought me for 475! Holy crap! How?” I gawked, completely ignoring the fact that she had just taken my picture. All she did was smile and looked to be in her little world. I didn’t even pay attention to the fact that the entire student body was watching us. “EVA!!? I practically screamed out.

“Hm?” She said. “Yah. Just you wait to see what I have in store for you.” I gulp in fear. God could only know what she has in store for me. For the rest of the day I just pulled Eva here and there to our classes. I could just tell she was thinking to up something I was not going to like. And I had yet to tell her that we were going to Ireland soon. When I tried to wake Eva up from her world at the end of school I ended up download a foghorn tone to my cell phone. I did it Quite Violently to.

“Eva! School’s done! Let’s go!” I screeched at her.

“Well, let’s get to my BABY!” She cried loudly even though almost everyone was gone. With that said, evil plots (having to do with me I’m sure and a trip to Ireland to plan), and Eva’s 2007 Silver Jeep Liberty ahead, I walked forward scared for my best interests.

.:Chapter 5:. Eva
Holy Shit! It’s Blue!

“Gnnnnnnnnnnuh,” I groaned, still half asleep. “Lemmigo,” I mumbled into a cloth, not even noticing that I was being carried.

“Shhh. Go back to sleep.” I jolted upwards and hit my head on a solid substance above me.

“Owe! What the hippos?” I said, rubbing my head furiously. I managed to open one eye to glance at what I had hit.

“Fuck!” I heard him curse.

“Gabriel. What were you doing?” I asked, now looking at him with an attempted cute look on my face, my head cocked slightly to my right.

“I-I was just. I mean I didn’t want to. Ugh? Well? Y-you were? I-I mean I was.” He stuttered, a light pink crossing his face.

“He was watching you sleep,” Erik interrupted.

“Well, that was fun.” I stated randomly as my lips curved upwards into a slight smile. “Gabriel likes some one!” I said in a singsong voice.

“DO NOT!” He cried to me in a flustered way, which just made me laugh.

“That’s soo cute.” I walked into the kitchen still hearing Gabriel trying to over deny the fact that he likes someone. Now I just had to find out who.

“Blueberries, blueberries, blueberries, blueberries?” I chanted as I searched the fridge for the sweet deep sapphire berry some fifteen minutes later.

“Eva, hurry. I think she’s waking up,” I heard Erik say loudly from upstairs.

“No shit! You’re the one screaming right next to her!” I cried up to him frustrated over the bar.

“Damn he’s stupid.” I stopped my quest for a moment to rub my temples roughly. “Okay. Kool-aid, Kool-aid, Kool-aid.” I once again chanted now digging through her cabinets. “Ah!” I cried, ripping open the container of cherry Kool-aid mix and dumping it into my concoction.

“WHAT THE BLOODY-owchie. In too much pain to care,” I heard Aaron say, well, scream as she came down the stairs. I poured the non-frozen lime Jell-o into the pitcher, and mixed it well. As soon as the blender stopped seconds later, I poured some of the smooth, blue liquid into a cup and put a little mini pink umbrella through some pineapple and on the side of the glass.

“MOVE IT! Coming through,” I said as I carried the drink on a small metal serving board like the waitresses do and put it in front of Aaron.

“What’s that?” Aaron asked, barely lifting an eyelid to observe the glasses blue filling.

“It’s to help your hangover,” I said, like it was the simplest thing in the world. She grasped the glass and eyed it. “Geeze, you would think she would’ve said something by now”, but moments after I thought that:

“HOLY SHIT! IT’S BLUE!” Almost everyone grabbed at his or her ears to try and shield it from the brutal attack.

“No fucking shit!” I cried. Okay. Staying up until who knows when being irritated by Aaron’s brother for only god knows how long isn’t a good thing for me.

“Well Bottoms up!” She cried as she took a sip from the cup. Oh, who am I kidding, she frigging chugged it. Licking her lips afterwards, you know what she did? No. You won’t believe it. She gagged. Yes she gagged. And then asked for seconds. Why? WHO KNOWS!!!!!!!

“Where’s the pitcher?” Everyone starred at her like she had just kissed Amber full on the lips and asked if she was available for the rest of the evening. It was that creepy.

“O-Kay? I’m officially weirded out. Time for school!” I cried randomly. Aaron ran upstairs for some odd reason. She put on a black tank top and some light jeans with a pair of cleats. She put on smokey eye shadow and pulled her hair back. Me? Well I wore a long sleeved, light grayish ivory shirt and a black mini skirt with ankle boots. I also left my hair down and applied simple black eye liner and mascara. After everyone was ready and I stuffed a couple hundred-dollar bills into my bra (Normally I don’t do this but today was an exception.). We all got into the car. Today was June 21st. About one week before school ended. Mostly everyone knew what THAT meant. Aaron obviously didn’t cause she had filled several thermostats to the brim with my (Marshmallow, blueberry, liquid lime jell-o, non-alcoholic blue tropical margarita mix as well as seven to ten other things which included two or four different spices that I pulled off of the rack randomly) special mixture. ~ Don’t it always seem to go, that you don’t know what you got till it’s gone. They pay paradise to put up a parking lot. - ~ I picked up my phone and put it on speaker before it could play anymore. Everyone in my contact list had his or her own ring tone.

“HELL-O PEOPLES!” One of our other friends cried over the speaker.

“Chrissy!” Aaron and I cried in union.

“Hey!” I said. “What’s the occasion?” I asked. At this point, we had everyone’s attention.

“Guess what my mom said,” Chrissy said, taunting us.

“What!” Aaron exclaimed over my shoulder.

“I’m coming up!” Chrissy, Aaron and I screamed our lungs off.

“Ohm Gosh! We have to get everything ready! When are you coming up?” Aaron said strangely more excited that usual.

“Wait, wait. She said that either I could come up there or everyone could come over here to Ireland!” At this point, I was slightly suspicious at their tone, but I shrugged it off.

“Okay. We’ll figure everything out later. We’re going to school right now.” Erik said into the phone.

“Shut up, Erik, I wanna talk to Chrissy about something.” She then grabbed the phone out of my hands, took it off of speaker and started whispering something into the phone.

As the bus pulled up, Aaron squealed and shut the phone saying that the bus was here. Handing the phone back to me, I couldn’t help but be suspicious. We were the third stop out of the eight stops that the bus had, so the seats were rarely full when we got on. I sat down in the middle of the bus on the left side, just behind the emergency exit window. Gabriel sat down on the seat across from me. As Aaron passed me, I grabbed her by her arm and dragged her down next to me and started to question her.

It was beautiful; the day was perfect! We all got off of the bus and took a breath of fresh air. The sun was shinning brightly with a few white cluttered wisps in the sky. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood, too. What would happen at lunch would make this day even better.

The classes zoomed by as everyone kept their eyes on the clock.

“Finally, fourth period,” I sighed as Aaron looked at me suspiciously. She knew something. Oh well. All eyes watched the clock anxiously, waiting for the bell.

“Will all of the Football players and Cheerleaders come to the cafeteria at this time.” I wanted to strangle her.

“There aren’t that many players on the football team so why not just call both teams down at the same – “

“Will all of the Soccer players come to the cafeteria at this time.”

“About fricking time!” Someone from the back screamed as Aaron got up and left the classroom. The rest of us waited for about five minutes until the bell finally rang. The annoying grandfather clock ring echoed through the school as everyone pushed towards the cafeteria. Luckily, I managed to get out of my class first so I was able to fast walk to the front. Students gathered around four or five, no wait…four long cafeteria tables put against each other horizontally, making a very long runway.

“Okay! Come on up Ladies and Gents. First off, we have this lovely young woman…”
“Next off is Amber! This lovely young she-devil is up for auction starting at 5-“ Brandon, the news desk announcer was cut off with a sharp pinch and a cry of pain.

“428!” Amber glared at us, mainly Aaron. Amber didn’t even get half of what Aaron went for.
“475!” The final offer came in.
“475 going once, going twice.” I watched in amusement as the people (Guys) around me scrambled to split enough money.
“SOLD! For $475.00 to Ms. Dementer!” Brandon cried in amazement. If you think he was shocked, you should have seen Aaron’s face. It was one of those Kodak Moments. Her mouth was wide open in shock as she stepped down from the platform as a flash went off. “Next up is Joshua the Quarterback! We’ll start off at-“

“475! YOU bought me for 475! Holy crap! How?” She gawked, completely ignoring the fact that I had just taken her picture. You see, even though we had a fairly large amount of money, we had to use our own money for these types of school events. Car wash…working at the car wash. Yah? The song just kind of popped up in my head and I did a mini finger disco move while Aaron kept trying to get my attention. “EVA!!? She said in a high pitched voice.

“Hm?” I said to intentionally annoy her. “Yah. Just you wait to see what I have in store for you.” I could see her gulp in over dramatic fear. I kind of spaced out for the next hour thinking of random things that I could and would do to make Aaron’s life hell. A couple of times I was aware of Aaron pulling me here and there. And you know, talking. But other than that, school rushed by. The bell jolted me awake. No. Not the school bell. Aaron had to whip out her cell and download a foghorn tone for me to snap back to reality. (Quite violently, too.)

“Eva! School’s done! Let’s go!” She screeched. “Holy Shit! School went by fast.” I thought to myself.

“Well let’s get to my BABY!” I cried loudly even though almost everyone was gone. With that said, evil plots (having to do with Aaron, Nathan, Pudding, sand, the woods, and handcuffs), and my 2007 Silver Jeep Liberty ahead, I walked forward with Aaron’s BEST interests at heart.
