7/11 - Day 1. Home - Orléans

Yes, my trip just began. After going to bed late yesterday evening (time to get all my stuff ready, to convert all my beloved CDs into mp3 and burn them back on CDs, so I have hours of music ready to listen during the trip), I woke up at a reasonable time. Mainly thanks our dog, Api, that wouldn't let me sleep some more... I took the whole morning to finish packing, making sure I didn't forget anything important... And I left at around 12:30, still not knowing which way I would take exactly, and rather tired on the whole, but nothing I couldn't cope with.


My beloved travel companion... My car!!!


I drove east, a bit, to reach the motorway. I made sure the car's tank was full, and took the motorway up to the north. The best bit was that I could listen to my CDs. Not that easy knowing that my car's radio only take tapes. But thanks to an adaptator and to a mp3/CD player, and although the whole system looks a bit complicated at first sight, I managed to have a very good sound quality on my good old radio.


I stoped on the motorway. The sky was worth...


So on this first day I just drove north until I considered I was too tired to drive more, and I settled down in a hotel close to Orléans. I stopped once or twice on the way to take a few pictures of the landscape, so I still have at least something to show you on the first day.


... And the trees, too. Well, it was just my first day!


Tomorrow, I plan to continue my trip (I'll be less tired, no dog to wake me up here ;) ) north, and I'm still not sure of where I'll stop. I'll try my best to have lunch in Belgium.
