Species: Mothengol

Species Description: A race with uncommon features. They have the human nose, but generally they rely on their feathery antenna for hearing and smell. Special glands under their eyes can sense wind speed, and moisture in the air, as well as to secrete special smells and perfumes. Eyes are akin to a hawk or eagle, very piercing and intense for the reason of being able to see from the high altitudes. Having two sets of wings, the inner pair are used as rudders in place of a feathered tail, while the outer wings are much larger, and used for lift and speed. The two pairs are different being that the inner pair can never be folded, but the joints are flexible, and are often curled slightly backwards and drag behind them when they walk. The outer pair are connected to their spine in two places, using a membrane between the delicate bones for the bulk. Can be folded to decrease the size. An elegant race no doubt. They are masters of manipulation, using their scents to calm would be attackers, and thoughts of seduction to get what they want. The legends say that you will never forget, nor be satisfied by another lover again after you mate with a Mothengol.

Description: Adenia has medium length golden caramel hair, piercing blue eyes with amber rings around the iris and lightly tanned skin. Her eyes are slanted, as all are with her race and she is exotically pretty. Most of the time she either has a scowl on her face, or a cute pout, looking to be rather stern. Her smile can light up her face when she uses it. Adenia is fairly average for her species, standing at 5'7" and quite thin but has some obvious curves. Per her race, she has light bones and can appear frail. In combination with her wings, she weighs about the same as a human her height.

Personality: Thinks she can conquer the sun. Every once in a while she will try to fly as high as she can to try to touch it. Since a Mothengol spends the majority of their lives in the air, this isn't particularly dangerous, as their senses wake them up if they are approaching an object or the ground.

History: Unknown.

Strength: Flight, manipulation, the legends that surround her decently common species. Has a knack for getting her way. Loves to help people still, and has an undying curiosity about the world and those in it.

Weakness: Much more frail then a human, stays away from close combat, but naturally she is involved in a lot of it besides that. Has no skill with a weapon. Such as a pretty thing she is, she relies heavily on her abilities to avert the emotions of the attacker.

Preorbital Gland - The preorbital, or lacrymal gland, is a small pocket located in front of the deer's eyes. At most times the pocket is closed. However it is under muscular control, and I have seen deer flare this gland open in several situations. Rutting bucks may open this gland when signaling their aggressive intents to other bucks (or deer researchers!). In addition, does often open this gland when they are tending their fawns.

We are not sure whether or not this gland actually produces a scent or not. The opening of the gland may just be a visual display and not an olfactory display. Some researchers, and hunters, suggest that the preorbital is used to mark the overhanging branch at a scrape site. Although this may be true, if you watch a buck marking an overhanging branch, you'll notice that he appear to be marking it with his whole head - forehead, antlers, nose, mouth, and preorbital area. It seems more likely that he is leaving scent on the branch from several areas which may include the preorbital gland.
