Chapter 1: The Unfortunate Warrior.

It was a full moon, as he swiftly jumped from one rooftop to the other.
Several dark Beings were right on his tail, as he fled right through town.
The creatures left a wake of destruction, by clinging their huge claws into the sides of buildings.

As his breath slowly got heavier, he took a free fall, and he landed in the middle of a busy street.
The cars that were driving there, seemed to be going way slower than him,
and he simply walked on top of them, as if they weren’t moving at all.
Just after he landed, he peeked over his shoulder, noticing the creatures weren’t having trouble either.
He could see the cars crumble underneath their claws, and blood seep from the carves.

The further he ran, the more creatures seemed to gather around him.
By now, there were dozens of dark beings behind him,
and they seemed to be in front of him as well.
It looked as if he was the main attraction in town,
as if had someone sent these creatures for him.

He held his hand in front of him, and shut his eyes.
He looked as if he was concentrating deep,
as if he were in a coma.

Suddenly, a burst of fire came from the tips of his fingers. It erupted with huge force, nearly melting the cars underneath,
even though they were barely touching the fire.

It wasn’t ordinary fire though. Instead of red, this fire was pitch-black.
It didn’t give in an any light, instead, it gave out shadows, covering the entire street in a thick shroud.
The black fire raged forward, slaying all the Beings that touched it,
and leaving nothing but their scorching ashes.

The Beings behind him slowly got closer and closer, and when they reached with a metre,
they could clearly see him through the shroud.
It was impossible that this man, rather boy, could run this fast, let alone cast these powerfull spells.
He had black spiked hair, and a pale skin.
His eyes weren’t visible very well.
The shroud was still too thick for the beings to see them.

The boy suddenly turned around, as a massive black fireball raged out from his hand,
slaying all those behind him. The cries of the Beings echoed through the streets,
as their bodies crumbled, and only their dust remained.

The boy looked satisfied,
and as the wind went through his hair, he started climbing along the side of a building,
reaching for the top.
When he eventually got there, he looked all around him, checking if anymore Beings had appeared.
After he made sure there were no more,
he said to himself: “Ah, yet another satisfying night downtown”.

As he turned to go back home, he suddenly spotted something in the air, something white.
It came flying in at an amazing speed.
Before he could actually makes sure what it was, it was already near the building.
It headed directly for his head, and he was barely able to dodge it,
let alone identify it.

As he got up again, he saw more white dots coming in, from several directions.
He nimbly dodged them all, but he was getting rather exhausted as the numbers kept increasing.
They were flying in from all around, and he didn’t have his weapon on him,
so blocking was out of the question.

“I won’t keep this up much longer”, he said to himself with a rusty voice.
More came, and when he wanted to dodge them, his body stopped.
He simply stood there.
The, by now identified, arrows only a few metres away from him.
But they stopped. The arrows were simply hanging still in the air.

“Why is time passing this slow?”, he asked himself, “Is this what people mean with the flashback through life before you die? It can’t be, because I’m still in the present”.

His eyes turned up, even then, time was passing slow, and his body still wouldn’t move.
When his eyes reached the target, he noticed someone in the sky.

Someone with a bow.
Someone who looked happy, seeing him in this deadly situation.

He wanted to shout out in anger, but his mouth couldn’t move.
He could feel the air in his lounges getting colder,
but the air wouldn’t flow out. “Yes, that’s it. Shout some more, see if you can”,
the person said with a creepy voice.

He softly landed next to him, with a sadistic smile on his face.
“Hmm, seeing you in this rather unfortunate situation makes me think you can’t move...
What a pity, the loss of such a great warrior, one of the best,
simply because he couldn’t move. Must be hard on you”.

He shouted out, “Let me go!”, but before his sentence was finished,
time changed back to normal. He could feel the cold air moving again.

He felt dozens of arrows pierce his body. He shouted out in pain,
and fell over on the ground. Everything slowly became black.
“This can’t be it. It simply can’t be”.
The world got darker, and darker,
and when everything seemed to be out of reach,
he could see a smiling girl.
“Good morning, Sinchao!”
