By morning Hiei and Rika were gone. Then stood on the cliff outside the forest watching the sun rise. "Hiei.....I'm so impressed. Your spell energy has increased greatly. Even faster then how I got mine. Your an A-class spell caster." Rika said. Hiei smiled. "How did you get so strong?" Rika asked. Hiei frowned and did say anything. Rika smiled, "I understand..." She said, thinking she knew what it was. She then sighed lovingly. Hiei looked at her. "I'm......glad Atamis is gone. Though you were the one who killed him." Rika said. Hiei smiled at her. "I think your ready for higher spells." Rika said, looking at Hiei. Hiei looked confused.

She took him back to her room and got a book from the back of her room. "I keep all my high level spells in the back of the room. I haven't taken them out in a while. Let's start with energy spells." Rika said, and she opened the book. The book itself was leather with 3-D gold markings on the cover. She flipped half way through the book. "These spells don't require chants, but release more on your energy power." She said, "Ok, let's start with and energy absorber............You need to create this." Rika showed him a picture in the book. It was a swirling energy ball. Hiei looked at it with curiosity. "Ok, your regular spell energy is normal stored by your heart. So you need to let it course through your whole body, and feel it surging." Rika said. So Hiei did as she said. He stood still and let his spell energy surge through his body. At first it felt so....irregular and he winced. "Don't stop! I know it's strong, but keep going!" Rika said, So he did. "Ok, now form your energy into a ball." She commanded. Hiei lifted his hands, with his palms facing up, to about his shoulders. An energy ball started to form, flouting in his hands. "Good, Hiei. Now feel your thoughts giving power and form" Rika said, looking at the energy ball. Then she quickly ran a few feet in front of him and created an energy orb too. She let it flout above the ground and ran back to the side, "Now focus the energy on the energy in front of you!" Hiei focused his energy, then his orb of energy sucked up hers. But he released it and it disappeared in a burst. Rika ran over to him, "Good." "What does it do?" Hiei asked. "It absorbs the energy that you focus yours on." She answered. Hiei felt tired from the spell, so they decided to just rest. For the evening they went back to the cliff. Rika had something on her mind. Hiei looked at her, "Something is bothering you...." He said suspiciously. "...........It's nothing...." She said somberly. "There's something." Hiei said, more suspicious. "...........I just...can't stop thinking about.......how.....s-......sc-......" She paused. "What?" "I WAS AFRAID!................I was afraid............I just can't stand things like that anymore." Rika said looking at the beach below from her sitting position. "That liquid was supposed to do more then just take my power. Once Atamis had my power, It would have extracted my soul from my body, then dissolved my body, Finally, my soul would have been thrown into a time loop of my past. The period of my past would have been when I was in the prison." Rika explained, now, very somber. Hiei paused looking at her, "Why that time?" "Because it was the worst time, in my entire life." Rika answered throwing back her head with her eyes closed. "When I was in that liquid, all I could think of was that period of my life. How similar it was to then. Being traped....not on my own free will...........without escape.....I thought that.......When I was in the prison I always hope Kurama would come back for me and free me. In the liquid vat, I though you would come to save me. But after a while.....and remembering everything that happened, I just.......gave up. I thought you wouldn't come. I thought the same things I thought when I was in the prison. Just that I would die. That was the only difference." Rika with tears in her eyes....at times. Hiei looked at her with a somber expression. He knew that whenever her past was mentioned, she would get really upset in one way or another.
Then he wrapped his arms around her and brought her close to him. She seemed to have forgotten how to breath, then took four deep breaths and closed her eyes. Then she put one hand on his chest. She continued to breath deeply for a bit. "I told you before.....I'll protect you." Hiei said. He put his hand on her head and she nuzzled her head. Then he pulled her away, and they gazed in each others eyes. Finally, they shared in a loving, peaceful kiss. Rika finally felt happy again.
